    right, my speedo does not work on my DTR 125, I disconnected it from the drive on the front wheel and spun the exposed end of the cable ( with a drill, got 30mph ,woop!!! ) so that tells me I need a new drive, is there a difrence between a standard DTR drive and a drive off a DTR 125X with exel wheels ? as my bike was made into a supermoto, and is this easy to fit? thanks

    He there folks, i got me Dragstar with a good battery, when i try to start it all i get is a clicky noise from relay (im assuming).. If i wiggle the wires to the right of the battery ( as you look at it from the side) she starts up fine. Im guessing its an electrical connection fault with the starter motor. Does this make sence, and does anyone know which wires this would be. Cheers Neil

Hello people I am new to this site hope I have posted it in the right one lol Right well my yamaha dtr 125 got stolen a few days ago but got it back lucky but my wiring loom has been messed with loads and need some help so if you have a dtr same year of mine 2004 new shape could you please help my out.   6. Hi guys, A quick question. Is it possible to alter the lever span without changing the levers? My clutch lever is too much of a stretch for my short fingers and so riding through town with constant stop start and gear change is a real pain. Is there anyway to alter the lever span without weakening the lever so it is not such a stretch? i.e heating it up and bending the lever in etc etc Looked on ebay and found some adjustables for the fzr1000. Would they be the same fitment? much appreciated

  7. I was oiling my cables when I noticed that blipping the throttle really fast from idle causes engine to cut out. The cable isn't too tight or too slack but adjusting either way has no effect. If I blip the throttle slightly slower, it works fine and the engine doesn't cut out. The engine runs fine if you leave it running idle so I'm not sure what the problem might be. This could all just be me but I'm pretty sure I could blip the throttle really fast (rev bomb) and the engine wouldn't cut out like it does now. Any ideas where to start looking? //Edit: Just went out for a ride today and it didn't feel any different. I guess it was just me, blipping the throttle as fast…

  10. My new piston kit finally arrived from Yambits after 3 weeks waiting. Going to install with a mechanic friend tomorrow. Its a 0.5mm upsize kit. I bought the bike rebored with new piston kit fitted, but top ring was broken. I have been reading of rings breaking due to ports not chamfered after reboring. Not sure if this is what happened here. DT175G 1980 model 4L9 serial. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of when doing this installation?

    Hi all I have a TZR125 and have changed the (right hand) crank seal but it still uses the gearbox oil. So far I have tried genuine seals and pattern (mounted the right way round) - also put a new spacer with 'O' ring on the outer edge. All to date still has not stopped engine using the oil from the gearbox aswell - recently got another engine (complete) as I want one to tune up slightly - that does exactly the same. Any ideas from anyone - getting annoyed with it now !!! Have split the cases and made sure the seal between them is good also !!! - and checked the vent is clear so its not pressure building with the box etc Cheers Ray

    Hi there, I bought a ybr September last year brand new and now my sprocket and chain set is on its way out and i was wondering if that's normal as it started doing it at 4,000 miles. Its currently under warranty so should this have failed so early? Also can anyone suggest any good sets for my bike? Thanks

    Whether right or wrong i recently acquired another engine for my 650 draggy, i have no history or any knowledge about the running condition of said engine, having looked at it though i would have to say that it has been removed from an American import, so 1 of my questions is can i convert it from American spec to the british spec? Another question is what other than road surface can cause my old draggy to vibrate. I'm about its 7th keeper and when i got it, it had and of course still has a somewhat noisy 5th gear, now i am or at least can be quite mechanically minded and handy with a spanner but have been told that changing out the gearing just wasnt worth the time e…

    Hi. New to the forum and have an rxs 100 that I wish to restore. I used this on a daily basis for two years and over the last two weeks it has been difficult to get Into a gear. I could change up and down the box but without the return spring doing its job. It is now stuck in first gear and will not come out of gear at all... Is this spring broken ?... And is it grief to fix??. I am fairly ok with the technical stuff but useless at diagnosis.any answers would be appreciated. Many thanks

    Hey guys So this is my first post so hi everyone Basically I have bought myself an 1992 Yamaha dtr 125 and have completely stripped it down, going to get the frame powder coated and sprayed things like that its my first bike project. I was just wondering if anyone knows of anywere I can buy or repair the wiring harness as it is in a pretty bad state I have stripped all the tape of and cleaned it as much as possible and was going to replace the wires but its quite a big job so if anyone knows of anywere I can get a new one can you let me know ?     Well folks. Betty is not well she has developed a tappy/knocking sound under load (first start up then only when i accelerate) I have check all of the external areas of the engine and frame to see if its a loose bolt or a dead rabbit in the warp drive system but nothing so the rattle / tappy/ knocking sound is defiantly internal. I done an oil + filter + spark plug change yesterday and i have to say it i have been a bit of a twat to old Betty. when i stripped her down i was going to do the oil and filter then but didn't for some reason and when i drained the oil it was jet black and there was only 3/4 of a liter of oil in there, not the 3ish liter that there …

    Hi, I was out riding my tzr50 the other day, my bike ran perfectly fine and has done for months now, the only problem is when I looked down whilst riding, the tachometer still works but the digital speedo doesn't? The speed is stuck at 0 mph and the mileage is stuck as well what could be the problem? If you need anymore info just say thank you

    Hi everyone, I am currently building a bobber from an xs 250 1978, I have purchased a set of taper race bearings for the steering from a company called pyramid parts, However on attempting to fit them they seem to be too thick in size as before i replaced the top yoke there was not any thread to attach the castle type nut that is at the top of the bearing assembly. They advertised them as for fitting every year from 1977 onwards, I have two frames a standard 1978 xs 250 and a 1981 xs 250 custom, These bearings are the same on both frames, I am waiting to hear back frome the company as it maybe that they may have just sent the wrong part.
