I notice that my bike Boggs down at top end with the standard 16:57 set up , I am not trying to get more top end as I know that they aren't designed for 70mph plus , but what I would like is to get more out of each gear and I figure that I would have a wider / more of a power band with the 19 tooth along with just generally more speed / distance in each gear ? Anybody tried this ? Any advice ?

How much compression should each cylinder have on a 1986 fzx700? The shop I took to said I am only getting 40psi on each cylinder and it needs new cylinders. He gave an estimate of $1600us.I find this hard to believe,I am not getting any smoke from the exhaust.I took it to be repaired for hard starting when cold.Only would start cold is by push starting.Once started the bike would run fine with lots of power.Would start and run fine while warm, but when cool have to push to start.I figured it would be something with the choke .Help please.I am not sticking another $1600 into it.

Hi, I have bought old Yamaha SR125 which has not been used for past 10 years. I stripped it down, cleaned, replaced some parts and put back together. Unfortunately it doesn't start. I cleaned carb, checked cables, replaced spark plug, cleaned clutch plates... That was great adventure for a layman girl without a garage, I learned a lot, had some fun, but... Still not starting. With no hope I pushed it to the workshop and I was told that even if I cleaned carb it's still in pretty bad condition and I should replace it. Here's where problem starts. I couldn't find carb for Yamaha SR125 on ebay or in any other online shop. I was told that it doesn't have to be carb especialy…

Hi Everyone When I got this DT to restore, previous owner told me it had seized, so he did rebore with oversize piston and rings. He says it ran for a week and lost compression. But if I feel resistance on the kickstart it seems to have pretty good compression. Could I get some fuel in and try start..or could I cause damage?

So, I'm coming here again to ask you all, who have been in touch with Yamaha DT 125. Are someone able to filma a video - how to destruct rev limiter? Because, I did it, but I think that I have not done it properly. My bike still not run freely, and max speed is lower than in start, when I bought my bike (top speed then 120km/h) now max 95km/h, when full trothle in 5th gear (6th has no power). Where else is any limiter in bike what I could do, destruct, eliminate w/o buying something? I have new crankshalf, fully cleaned carb and air filter. No succes. Help me. My bike - yamaha dtx 125 2006. Doma silincer, hgs pipe. Mikumi carb. Stock crankshalf, air filter, c…

Hi, I'm new to the site and wondered if anyone could help me at all. I am restoring/bobbing a 1980 XS250 and am looking for an exhaust. As far as I can tell/know, the XS400 and 250 engines are very similar. Does anyone know if an XS 400 exhaust fit an 250 at all? Also, I'm going to lower the back end from 350mm which is what are on there at the mo to probably 280mm. Are the mounting sizes a universal size or will I have to buy some shocks especially for the XS250? If anyone could help me I would be very greatful. Cheers, it is very much appreciated. While riding today I tapped the car in front of me with my tire. Immediately after I noticed that ll 3 headlights on my bike were no longer working. I have pulled the main bulb out and it looks fine. Could this have caused me to blow a fuse? Where is the fuse box?

Hi guys, I've got a little problem with my fuel tank cap (on my XJ6). When taking out the screws to change them, my fuel tank cap broke in some place. It's not dramatic per se, but it's not aesthetic! Here's how it looks now: There's no way to glue it, or even weld it; I asked around. My two options were to either change the whole cap, which means I'll have a new key just to the fuel tank, or buy another one and try to dismantle the outer circle from the inner one. So, I bought a second-hand cap. Thing is, I feel like the lock has some problems. When I put the key in it, I can't take it out! I had to take out the cap, and dismantle the locking system to get…
