  1. Hey guys and girls, hope you are all doing well. I'm back on after a long winter (every time I worked on my bike for more than 10 mins my testicles turned to ice cubes), so I gave up - and as well as being a fair weather golfer, fair weather rugby player, fair weather hiker, I'd also like to be a fair weather mechanic/motorcycle enthusiast. My little YB100, after spending the past few years working on getting it rebuilt, is finally in at the local garage getting it's first MOT. I have been informed it only failed on 3 minor things: fork seal, rear brake bulb/switch, and something on the wrong way round (but as I didn't look at the picture when I installed it, I'm not…

So finally got around to well, getting at it. Pulled the tank, took the petcock off the tank and found a bit o rust there. Doesn't seem like the best thing to ignore. Any tips on what I should do about it? I'm clueless on this one and am ready to spray what I can with WD40 and cleaning what I can. Planning on pulling the carb and taking it apart for a good cleaning, lubing up the throttle cable, changing fuel filter that was on there. I put a new seat cover on tonight and look forward to getting dirty tomorrow. https://picasaweb.google.com/104225886634124921893/YamahaBeforePictute?authkey=Gv1sRgCOfmidevkIr0zwE#5869936060888556818

  4. Hi All I am kind of new to biking (loving it mind!!) and would really appreciate any help anyone can give here. I have just noticed that the chain on my bike - YBR125 - appears to be very slack, almost as though there is hardly any tension in it, also noticed when I last had a ride out a couple of days ago that there was a bit of a clicking sound which I am assuming is to do with the looseness of the chain. I am looking for advice please as to what this may be and may have caused this and what I would need to do to fix it please. As I said earlier I am very much a newbee and this is my first bike so probably wont understand any technical speak. So if someone c…

bought some K&N clamp on air filters to replace the stock air box that i had on the bike when i bought it. Upped my pilot jet from 30(stock) to 32.5 and main jet from 107.5(stock) to 112.5. I also "shimmed" the needle with some small washers (+2 on each needle). Upon these jet options i noticed the bike ran fine up until 75-85 mph on highway in which at these speeds it would "hickup" or jerk a bit as if it is still starving for fuel??. (at anything over 3/4 or so throttle the bike would stop "jerking" and run perfectly fine (main jet at WOT) if i run the bike at the 75-85 range it will eventually start to lose power and with out moving throttle position the bike woul…

  8. So I got my Dt175 Running and went out on the streets for the first time ever. Taking it slow here. One thing I found, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, when I have been riding around and stop the bike for a short time, ie getting gas, it's then hard to start. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong or is this something normal? I stalled out a couple times practicing stop and goes on a hill and it would start right back up, but If I stopped the bike for couple minutes it's a hard start.

Hi there new to this forum ! Need a hand which I hope is a minor problem - here go's........ 2006 ybr,had it now for 3 years been garaged for year and half( due on my part to laziness and the awful weather this last two years has brought!) ok so acquired a new battery which is great all my lights work, indicaters ,brakes, even my horn! ok I can't start my bike via electric start or kick start.......I've even tried push start but again epic fail , so any input would be great ,had no issues prior to time spent off road. Ps my bike has been and always garaged ; )

Hello everyone, I'm currently driving a Typhoon 125 but soon I'm going to be moving up to my first geared bike and after doing various research, I've became very fond of the DTX125. I think it would be ideal for me but the only problem is I really do think the tyres are too small (width wise), which leads me to my question - could I put bigger tyres on a DTX125? What would it affect? What would be the cost? What make of tyre would you suggest? Is it a simple no? Any information would be helpful.

Bikes fucked again, I am so pissed off now with the fucking thing I could cry. I have an idea what's wrong but will reveal the answer tomorrow when the garage have looked at it. The winner of my competition will be announced. That's my Cagiva Mito postponed, I am really pissed off, I have just spent £600 on the fucking thing and thought I was going to be ok for a while. I don't think it's serious but still going to cost. But as always I will continue putting my faith in her and never entertain the idea of getting a car.

I've just changed the exhaust on the ybr 125 fuel injected to a aftermarket Leo Vince one however there was a pipe on the exhaust going towards the air box from what I can make out although I've just left jt hanging as it won't attach to the Leo Vince, it does not effect the performance should I just follow the rubber pipe and disconnect it all

Good Day! Thought I would post this question in that does anyone know if there is a complied list of what colours (colours) Yamaha used to paint the various models coming out of the factory. The other manufacturers do that are model specific and I was wondering if anyone has taken the time on the yamaha Owners Club to do this as well.

Hi everyone, I have a YBR125 purchased brand new from my local Yamaha dealer in July 2011. I have had a recurring problem with the bike since then and I could do with some advice. The bike appears to have a problem with Neutral, this being: Being in Gear even though the Neutral indicator is on; Being in Neutral even if the Neutral indicator is not on; When coming down the gears to stop, the bike goes into Neutral and will not go down to 1st Gear; Goes into Neutral when going from 1st to 2nd Gear. I have taken the bike back to my local dealer a couple of times as the bike is still under warranty. Each time they have made an adjustment which seems to fix it for a 10…

First of all i think i know how to do it just need someone to confirm, my bike wont tick over cold and it runs better when its cold and wet weather and as air is thicker when its cold im putting it down to the pilot screw and maybe jet, and it will only go to 60mph then bog and wont go any faster even though theres some more revs for her to give i know the main jet mainly controls the fuel flow when the throttles at 3/4 - full so im guessing thats were it goes wrong up jetting will be needed ill do this because im waiting for the mot in july before i put a 170 kit on it just thought idd share this for anyone else and also so people can confirm im right
