so last time i posted here you all gave GREAT help!! so i have returned one more time. my 86 fz600 was purchased at the start of winter and the p.o. had the throttle cable zip tied to allow it to fit. so upon purchasing it i am no at the point of tackling this little problem. went online and purchased http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/yamaha/YP-33M-26311-09-00.html but the throttle cable will not fit around the carbs loop and into the slot. i have the slack screw on the cable all the way in to allow full slack, and am begining to believe the p.o. may have somehow moved the location of where the cable goes into the butterfly valve (opener) lower so the cable now appe…

hi iv got a dt 125 r 1996 im doing up for my girlfrend . I was told when i bought it that the 2 stroke oil pump maybe wasn't working. I put a new accelator cable on and did the test with pulley and that seems fine. The pump moves up and down. I checked the oil adjustment and thats fine. Is there any other way i can be sure that its taking 2 stroke in ? I am just paranoid that when it starts being used i will end up with a whole heap of problems if the 2 stroke is not going in ! Thanks for any help.

Hi, I'm getting ready for the cold weather and have bought a set of Dr Bike heated grips. The pack says that it is best to connect the loom directly to the battery. However I have seen quite a few posts suggesting that I should connect it to the switched ignition circuit which does make sense to me. My question is how to connect to the switched circuit? I have the wiring diagram from the Haynes manual which shows a starter relay. Is that where I should connect it? Would the red and blue/white terminals be the right ones to use? Thanks!

Just got a running 76 that has been repainted but I would like to put it back to it's original graphics. Yamaha sold the 500 with two different colors that year(black and brown) so, how can I find out what is the original color that my bike came from the factory?

i am new to biking and have just purchased an '89 xj600 pre diversion and the exhaust is a bit tired from the 4 into 1 joiner back, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on replacing it as it appears that they are a bit hard to get hold of, can you fit a 4 into 1 off anything else without much modding ideally none. would really like stainless if possible. the diversion from '92 on looks very similar. any help would be much apreciated thanks kev .

Hi Everyone I need some help I just put a oil cooler from a 88 fz600 on my 87 Yamaha radian direct fit same motor on both bikes my question is, is there a check valve that allows the oil to stay in the oil cooler rad when the bike is shut off? And if so how do you drain the oil from the oil cooler rad when you do an oil chainge to ensure you have almost 100% fresh oil? I thank anyone in advance for there help.

Hello This is my first post on the forum so I apologise if it gets a little long winded. I recently bought a spare pair of wheels for the DT. The rims and spokes were shot, but the price was worth it just for the hubs I have paid for sm pro rims in black but they have told me they have stopped making the rear 18x1.85 and now only supply the 18x 2.15. I could cancel the order and buy else where but if the 2.15 is ok i will go with that one.(money and time is getting a little tight and the sm pro is a good price) My bike is a 1979 reg with a round tube swinging arm and has a 4.00x18 cats paw tyre fitted to a 18x1.85 rim and is alright for clearance Does anyon…
