First time the front brake had been used in 10-15 years. I thought the system could be bleed, pads replace and whoopi doo! .....but no!.....There was no pressure in the system! In fact i filled the master cylinder with fluid, removed the line to the caliper and pumped the lever to see what would happen I would have thought that fluid should leave the reservoir, but nothin Maybe the cylinder needs an overhaul with a new kit...?? Then i opened it all up and had a look and the insides. I gave the bits a good clean.....

Hi to all,i will try to polish my stainless steel pipes with some polish kit that it plugs at the electric drill. My question is:when i bought the motorcycle new the color of the pipes was gold to silver. When i tried to polish on a spot this gold color gone and it became the color of steel(like siver).Does the pipes have been threated with some kind of stuf the prevents corrosion? If yes does anybody knows what is this stuf.I'm asking because i don't want to do some bad thing and make them more worst that they are now.(They have some corrosion on them)

Yesterday when riding back from maidstone to wolverhampton i had a problem when i hit wolves. The engine temp. hit up to 104 degrees! it normally runs at around 81deg's and not much above it when rapid riding-especially in this cold weather. Also the idle went from approx 1,000rpm to just above 4,000rpm!!! It was a bitch trying to pull away from lights/junctions and trying to slow down also... I stopped at a garage checked the coolant and that was fine, everything else seemed ok, even double checked fuses and they seem fine??? It has got me miffed, i am thinking maybe that it may be contaminated fule or a fule issue? i filled up with 95 ron at maidstone, then in bir…

Just speculating at the moment.... I'm looking at tuning goodies for the R1 / R7 project to be. Is anyone out there clued up about the R1's response to using a more aggressive set of cams and any possible problems I might encounter regarding valve shrouding and valve weight. Yoshi do a customised set of cams to your specs - the stock valves look a little heavy and they might not work so well with hotter cams. What I'm worried about is - if I go for cams, it's likely I'll need to rework the head and valves + seats. If I go that route, how far can I go before the engine chokes itself out on it's own valve id. ? it's a lot of money to spend (£2K) just on the hea…

If it helps...................... Here we are with a few methods that we have come across in our time to get the best performance from your brakes and options on how to sort them out with simple tools or more drastic measures. There are many methods abound and all have there own merits, but folk law states that skills take time to build themselves up and after 2 ½ decades of messing with bikes we have certainly had a few cool eureka moments in this area. At the top of our bleeding success story’s chart is a tool that will cost you less than ‘one spondooly!’ Yep, that’s one measly UK quid! I suggest that you check out the local car parts suppliers and look for an “O…

I've been trying to get a handle on this for a while. I spent a few hours dyno-ing 5 2 stroke spannies and after looking at the torque and BHP figures and comparing them to other bikes I've run, there doesn't seem to be a direct relationship between the two values. EG.. A bike making 80bhp delivers 65Mn's of torque yet a similar bike making 85bhp delivers 60Mn's of torque. With no discernable difference, what would cause the torque figure to drop when outright engine power is up ? Any takers ? J

I'd like to see a FAQ or guide section in the forum. A bit like 'marchys' brake guide. It might reduce the amount of repeated questions and answers. I'd be happy to contribute to making guides. I'm always taking my bike to bits, so taking a couple of pics and adding some text shouldnt be too much of a problem. 8) What does everybody think?? :?: :?:
