does anybody know or have a manual they can look into and advise what timing mark to use for the valve timing? I need this desperately, managed to get all the work done wi out takin it to a Yamaha dealer, this is all i need to know. Much appreciated if anyone can help. Anthony

got a bit of a problem any help much appreciated, my foxeye FZR600R (looks like a YZF750) the one thats basically a thundercat, with a different fairing, the wiring socket off the clocks corroded to nothing the other day, and on the loom side its fine, but on the clock side some of the wires don't colour match to the loom, the connector was a big white plug with lots of small spade connectors in, approx 10 wires going in and coming out, the connector on the loom side is numbered, so can anyone look up the sequence on the clock wiring for me somewhere?? thanks andy h

Hi I'm new with 2stroke engines AND with Yamaha, and i have a small problem. DT doesn't start with kickstart but it starts when pushing 10-20 yards with gear2. Then it runs perfectly... When hot, idlerunning is impossible. When letting throttle off, revs doesn't go below 3000rpm, it goes down to 1000 if i let it go a while with 3000 and then revving to 4-6000rpm, then it drops to normal idle, but stalls after about 15 secs. Carb is orginal Mikuni28 with 270 mainjet, and it is 18kW mode with no restrictions and 90% working YPVS(too long wires).

I keep getting clutch slip on my Thunderace, I changed the friction plates and fitted stronger heavy duty springs. I done a complete oil change with filter and replaced the clutch hydraulic fluid, it seems to do it more twos up and when the oil is hot. Even drained the oil and changed oil brand

The stock mirrors give me a great view....of my elbows, so I'm looking for a replacement, but I don't know if mirrors from any other model will fit. Yamaha has been less than forthcoming with this info. Does anybody know? Thanks, David.

Hellp please I have a FZR 1000 exup 1989 23k miles that has developed a rotational knocking noise which becomes apparent only under accelleration The knock becomes quicker and slightley louder with the engine speed as aposed to the road wheel speed and sounds to be cumming from the gearbox The knock can allso be felt through the bike Would anyone have any idears or suggestions Thanx for your time and input

Hi all... Just joined today...come over from a GSXR1000 K1 !!!!... Pleased with the bike but main beam is poor ..any members advise how I can adjust the main beam angle.. Thanks Steve R

Greetings - just found this site and thought I'd test out the technical know-how of its members! Am currently rebuilding a crashed 1999 R1and am planning to make some handling improvements. Have been offered some 02 forks which I believe to be shorter than the 99 ones.... hopefully quickening the steering. Has anyone got any experience of this mod? Does anyone have an opinion on which model yokes/triple clamp to use (I understand the 02 model is differently angled) and will it make an already lively bike into a tank-slapping nightmare?! Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help I have a 1988 FZR 1000 Genesis. It has developed an ignition fault that seems to have fried two CDI units. Sympyons = It started - went onto two pots - then no spark - then two pots again - then no spark again. Replaced the CDI and it ran great for about 5 miles and then the above symptons happened. I have changed the coils checked all continuity etc etc but I cannot sort the fault. I have ordered another CDI but do not want to put it on and fry this one ....... it starts to be expensive. Thanks

Been suggested to me to fit fzr 1000 engine into my yzf 750 project. Before i get carried away with it all, is it a straightforward swap? Are the engine mounts the same, can i use my 750 wiring, ie, coils, cdi unit, exhaust system, radiator,or do i need all the stuff from a fzr? If anyone has done this, please let me know! Thanks chaps. PS, Also been considering a Thunderace engine swap, same questions as above! PPS, Theres nothing wrong with my 750 engine, is it worth all the hassle?

hi everyone just bought a yzf and she's wonderful however I've been told that the cam chain might need tightening how can I recognise this for myself and are there any other technical problems that might be associated usually to my bike, would you recommend I have her serviced I don't want to pay for something I don't need. She's second hand mint condition 26,000, P reg, full years MOT, blue flame exhaust and I paid £1800 quid is this about right. Not knowing anything about the model itself as I was going to buy a thundercat but fell in love with this help would be reallllllly appreciated. bluebell

to use Wiseco sleeves when using 1070cc pistons? Or can I just bore original to 1070cc?

Good evening to everybody i wonder if any of you can help me ? My yzf is playing up,its running really rich,so rich that's its of the scale at a dyno tuners, I've replaced the jets with new ones two size's lower,its better but that still hasn't fixed it. The bike is hard to start up when cold and seems to run on 3 cylinders but after its warmed up it runs fine in fact sweet as a nut. The bike has had no mods to it what so ever it is totally standard,and the exup is set correctly,I've stripped the carbs and there all ok with all the diaphragms in good condition and the needles are in the correct sequence,there's also new plugs and filters on it. Also the choke does…

the tzr125 i own now keeps cutting out whilst i am riding it does any one know what could cause this
