First off hello all, been viewing the forum for a while but only just got round to registering. i just bought a 03 plate dt125r, i took it out today and was lucky to get 50mph out of it! when you get to 6000rpm its missing like a pig and holding back? ive changed the plug and cleaned out the air filter. looking at all the muck that is on the end of the exhaust and that was on the old plug id say its running too rich but how do i solve this please? cheers G p.s nice forum by the way

I have just inherited a Thundercat and it won't start. I have replaced the battery. When I try to start it the engine trys to kick in but it doesn't start. The bike was left standing for a while and started every month, I have been told by a Yamaha dealer that it is likely that carburettor needs draining, how do I do this?

Hi I have a thundercat that came fitted with an oldish Spyball Alarm and one keyfob. The alarm worked fine until I stood the bike up for 4 months and removed the main battery. When I went to retsart the bike the alarm would not disarm. I tried a new battery in the fob and it disarmed, but it still has occaions where it won't disarm straight away. Short of removing the Alarm- not an easy task- has anyone any suggestions?

Hi All Does anyone know what the paint code is for my thundercat 1998 black,silver,orange i am after some orange to do some touching up? Or does anyone know where i can pick some up? Need to get her all spick and span for the good old british summer all 5 days of it no doubt cheers

Just dragged my pre divvy xj600 kicking and screaming back into the daylight and the rev counter doesnt want to play..everything was working fine when i buried it in the garage...anyone got any ideas ?

My R1 has 240 miles on it and I,ve noticed the clutch rattles. It is barely noticeable at tickover, as you start to pull in the lever, it gets a bit louder and then at half clutch lever travel it stops. I am running it in nice and carefully, the clutch doesn't slip...do I need to worry. I will mention it to the mechanic when it has its 600 mile service, but my previous R1 (2002 F.I model) didn't have the noise.

my fz 600 is not starting exept with push any help or suggestions accepted also has any one the torque settings for a 88 model and any ideas why it is throwing oil out of the air intake i think but gaskets fine

Hello all Got a problem with my R1, i have just replaced the dead battery and now have a problem in that when ignition switched on the Oil levele and neatral lights do not come on, have checked neatral switch ok, hope any body can help as its doing my head in.. Thanks

hiya, im new to the yamaha owners club i have a question about my trx850... i recently slipped on some white lines and cracked my top fairing and trying to get a cheap replacement is a nightmare. does anyone know compatible fairing for the trx850??? ie the trz125 fairing top and lowers ... will they fit????? if any others fit please let me know. super thanks tom

Hi , This is my first mail on the forum. I am from India and have few queries on R1 ( I am totally new to this bike ). As I dont have the owners manual available with me and have bought pre-owned R1. The speedo on my 2001 r1 started playing up (sometimes worked, sometimes didn't),andnow it doesn't work at all, it just stays on 0,........ any ideas

Not having a lot of luck with the bike at the moment... I decided to give it an oil and air filter change as I noticed the oil level was too low. So I drained the oil out of the engine and started on removing the oil filter cover. Eventually got the two screws holding the top of the cover off, but I'm having problems with the third bolt. Its basically a bolt you undo (or not) with an allen key. Its only supposed to be done up to 10Nm (AKA hardly anything) but seems to have been done up a lot tighter. Basically I couldn't shift it and have ended up rounding it out. So any ideas on how I get it off? Its grooved around the outside of the bolt but I haven't had …

Hi, I have a Yamaha Sr125, bought it recently but it has been sat around in the back yard as i was waiting for a new petrol cap. I tried starting the bike when i got home today and there was nothing. This bike is an electric start, no kick start on it and it was working the other day. Not being a bike genius(yet) i am unsure what the problem is. Can anybody help?

Hi all. Got a rattle coming out of the left hand side of me 'ace. It's somewhere around the crankcase cover. It rattles with clutch in- in 1st, parked, and for about 2 seconds after releasing on set off. Also, whilst gearing up at high revs, it seems to K-LUNK. All advice will be helpful. Cheers.

I have an R1 1998 model, my oil light keeps coming on and off when I am riding it, but there is plenty oil in it....has anyone else experienced this and do you know what the problem could be...?

Does anyone have, or know where I can get the following items: High rise link pipe for an R1 1998 (scorpion race can). Spacer for rear foot peg to be able to retain this after exhaust is fitted. Exhaust bracket. Brian
