Hello, I have recently fallen for a 1972 Yamaha 200 Electric for which I have little or no information on. This is my first bike. My question is "Is there a different model number I should be looking under to find a manual"? I cannot find one for a 1972 200 Electric. Perhaps it is in the VIN # Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi This is a problem that has the local Yammy dealer beat! I have asked for assistance from Yamaha Australia and they merely refered me back to the same dealer. I live in Darwin. The next nearest decent Yamaha workshop is in Adelaide, 2500kms away. A 1998 Diversion 900. No history of any problems. 70,000km on the clock put on by an older rider that used the bike in a stress free manner with most distances run out in the country. It started using a bit of oil so the dealer recommended new rings. The rings were put in and all seemed in order after reassembly. Starts and idles beautifully. No noticeable probs when the bike is used around town with gear changes at 3…

Somewhere in cyberspace there's a how-to on fixing ignitor boxes. I'm talking about cutting one apart, replacing what's needed & using epoxy to put it back together. The machine that needs the job is a US model, 1983 XJ900R. Anyone have a URL or link? Jake in NH.

Which means I cant go very far, cos I am scared of it conking out on me. Given contacts etc.... and good clean and spray. Any ideas, cos its driving me mental and I need the bike to practise ready for my test, which is real soon.

How's it going? I'm new to the club and just have a question for anyone out there with a 06 R1 (04-06). I just got a new 06 and with 250miles and a trackday so far. My question is What the hell was yamaha thinking not putting on a heat sheld. My ass is so Hot. I wish I had done some more reading up on the bike before the purchase If I knew this first I may have gone another way. I owned before this a new 03 R1 and on the day I hit 17,000 miles on it I laid it down. Insurance did what insurance does and took the bike. Anyways back to the new bike so far I'm happy with the bike with the handling but not so much with the throtlle response or the lack of power in the …

Does anyone know why my sr125 backfires through the exhaust when coming off full throttle and slowing down? It doesn't happen all the time but is rather annoying when it does. I have tried cleaning the carb but this did not help. The bike also stalls sometimes when it's hot and stood at traffic lights and junctions.

I have a 2001 Yamaha Warrior 350 four wheeler, yesterday I rode it and today it won't run right. The bike will idle fine but when you crack the throttle it pops, cracks, and then stalls. What could it be? I sprayed it off yesterday after I rode could I have gotten water in some of the electric stuff or what. I cleaned my air filter, put in a new spark plug, drained, and refilled the gas tank with fresh gas. I don't know what else it could be. Anybody got any clues? Thanks, Sean

So out of nowhere my bike is running really crummy, it cuts out at low RPM and is really hard to restart .... the only cause I can think of would be that it fell over in the driveway a week ago (a case of the kickstand not being all the way out on a downhill slant-- stupid I know) The bike was running when it fell over but showed no signs of being messed up at all unitl now. Any ideas??? I'm thinking maybe something happened in the carb or something.
