Hi people. went for a blast yesterday (was great) came home, washed the bike and put her in the garage all nice and clean ready for the next good weather day! A few hours later I heard a whining noise and traced it to the garage. !!! The Rad Fan on the bike was running but the bike was stone cold !! The ignition was off but i started it up and shut it down to see if this would maybe reset it. but No ! it was still running. I had to disconnect the battery to stop the fan running. Does anyone have any ideas why this happened? Im thinking maybe a dodgy temperature sensor??? I havent connected the battery again this morning to see if it stil…

Can anyone out there give me some advice as my TRX is running rough under 3000rpm and is also using a lot of fuel - should be getting more than 60 miles out of a tank of fuel. Around town she chugs and splutters but get it above 3000 and she seems to be ok - any ideas?

Sorry - original post in wrong forum. What kind of set up do you guys use for washing / cleaning parts? I've seen a few on Ebay with the pumps - but not sure of the quaility and if I really need another piece of equipment if a plastic dish sink pan and stiff brush would suffice. Also - what type of solvents do you prefer? Thanks for the input. G

Hi all, hoping you can help me resolve a problem ! recently fitted some LED indicators to my 2003 R6 and all seemed fine! obviously they flashed like crazy as i hadnt changed the indicator relay but they did flash and they were mighty bright ! (as you would expect) however, and this is where it gets strange! I fitted a new LED relay to slow down the flash rate and it worked !..........the flash rate has dropped down to legal levels but you can hardly see them flash ?? its just a dim glow (had to turn the garage lights off to see them) Have i got a duff relay? or is it something else? I'm stumped! any help would be appreciated! cheers al…

Before I ask for any advice (which I am about to) I'd just like to say hi, as this is my first post. I have recently got back into Motor Cycling after a 20 year break, I'm 43 now. I bought a rather tired looking 1990 XT600E which I'm currently tidying up. It runs well and has no major problems it just needs all the worn out bits replacing like bearings and the like and a really good clean and paint. Typically, what started as a bit of a clean has turned into a major strip and rebuild, although I do like to take things to bits, so ts not a big deal as long as its on the road by Spring. I have a 2001 Yamaha FZ1 and due to weather I have not started it for about 5 months. I have recharged my battery and trying to start the vehicle. But, the bike is not starting.. I heard a sound out of exhaust and stopped trying. Any ideas. -Phani

Yamaha repair manual prescribe 0.1-0.2bar oil pressure (= 0.1-0.2kg/cm2 = 1.42-2.84psi = 9.81-19.6kPa). I think this is very low, and should be 10 times higher, as 1-2bar. 0.1-0.2bar is close to nothing, and in my opinion not a safe oil pressure. Anybody know anything about this?

Hey, Iv'e restored my xs400 for the summer and gave it its inaugral run yesterday. Thing is the headers have become discoloured and i was wondering does anyone have any tips on cleaning this up? I am useing the Motad system t the mo' and they use stainless steel pipes! I know about "Blue away" product, but is there anything else? ie cheaper Cheers Drewpy

hey everyone im kinda new to this site and i made a account so i could ask you all whats wrong with my clutch so heres the problem..... - when i start it up i let it run for a few seconds i take the choke off then i go from nuetral to 1st. with the clutch engaged and it jumps and stalls out ..i adjusted the clutch many of times...but after that it happens sometimes or not enough to stall out let me know what you think maybe it could help me out

Right good evening all, i have got a problem with my 94 reg SR125, Bought new battery charged fully now flat. Batery charged gone on the blink and not able to bump start bike either. Tried everything in this pooring rain without sucsess. Have not got a car battery to do the job either. Anyone got any ideas??? PLEASE HLP ME!! !! !!

Hi i have a ttr600re used for comuting aprox 180 miles per week recently fork seal started leaking badly i was upset to find yamaha want £96 for complete set of seals any one no where to get cheaper and is this usual for a bike that has only done 8,500 miles done mostly over past 8 months and is 03 model

Has anybody got any ideas as to why my 1996 20,000 miles trx850 is hard to start when its cold? I have checked the choke, seems to working ok, new plugs, when it won,t start i have taken the plugs out they seem ok, not wet with petrol. fuel tap is working, filter in tank is not clogged, vacuum tap is working. starts first time when hot. good spark at the plug. any ideas?? thanks kevrim

Hi, This is my first post on these forums. I have a 1998 Thundercat, with approx 23,000 miles on it. Recently, I took an approx 100mile ride, and stopped the bike, and came back to ride home after about an hour. The bike had been parked on quite an incline, and when i tried to start, the starter turned the engine as normal, but it would not fire. I tried this for maybe 30-40 seconds (the starter was still spinning quickly) then decided to bump start, which worked ok (if a little reluctantly). On the way home, after a stop (for a coffee) the bike now wouldn't turn over - it was like a pretty flat battery. Again, bump starting worked, no problem th…

Hi all, I'm new to everything motorbike, but a friend advised me to ask on your forum. I'm building an Opal Manta hillclimb/sprint car with a V6 Opel engine and R1 (1000cc) carbs. One of the middle carbs will be taken out, but i need a diagram of all the hoses, their connections, and identification of the hoses (fuel, vacuum etc.).
