Hi, I have a 98 thundercat, and its been great untill now. For some reason it is getting hard to start it. I turn off the alarm, turn on the ignition the fuel pump clicks a couple of time, then press the starter button. It will turn over for age's then fires one 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and its away, but this can take several attempts. It used to start without a problem, I have just had the carbs balanced to see if it would help but no good. Should the fuel pump click or should it buzz, it has always clicked even when it was starting ok. Hope you guys got some good idea's Kind regards whillis

Hey all, Just after a bit of advice if anyone can help. I have a 2000 Thundercat which I love, i've recently managed to convince the missis into getting on the back only to be suprised as to how much she loves it and now i can't get her off the bloody thing!!!!! I wondered if anyone can help with some suspension set ups. I ride quite quickly even when 2 up. Thanks in advance Neil

Hi Guys! Having recently had my bike can any one inform me at which position the Fuel Reserve Rocker switch should be in? Down to the rear of the bike or down to the front? Not wanting to run low on fuel and find out that I have already used my Reserve! Best Regards Lennie1

to save me from buying a manual, does anyone know the fork oil level required for my yzf750r?

Ok I got this bike from my parents neighbor who was just going to haul the thing to the dump. Anyway, the only thing I could salvage was the engine. I do need new clutch plates, cam chain, and pistons. Oh and there is another piece that is on the left side of the engine that was completely off, but I have no idea what it is. Looks like a timing mechanism or thats what was left of it. My question is does any one have any info on how to fully rebuild one of these engines. I was going to make a bobber out of it (I hope that is not beeing sacreligous.) I cant figure out if the spark plugs still connect to the ignition cores or do they hook somewhere else. Hi, i have a yamaha engine, but no idea of exactly which engine it is from? I have linked pics of it, please have a look and see what you think it is. Hi I was wondering if anyone out there new anything about Datatool S3 alarms. I recently got an 2005 R1 with an alarm but no instructions!!! It is very sensitive only having to fart near it to set the alarm off and piss off the neighbours!! Is there anyway of turning down the sensitivity a bit, or is there anywhere I could get an instruction book? Many thanks NickT

Hi, i have recently brought a 2002 Yamaha YZ250 which i am making road legal, it has been regestered and is insured but awaiting on MOT - Does anyone have any ideas on how to power the lights etc etc with out having to buy a new lighting coil unit for the bike, or does anyone know if the CDI unit would be able to produce enough power eg 12v???? so it could all be wired up!!! Please please please help me

I own a 2004 Vstar Classic and awhile back I installed a cheapo Little windscreen on it, And the bars on the screen came out abit too far so when I parked and turned my handlebars one of the support bars for the windshield scratched the tank, I need to know what the best way to patch it up would be? Can i get a color number from Yamaha so I can match the colors perfectly? hell, can I maby even get the paint from them?

I HAVE A 1979 YAMAHA 1100 XS THE FIRST AND ONLY BIKE THATS PULLING 309 HORSE POWER THE LARGEST HP ENGINE YAMAHA EVER MADE. THE 4 PISTONS ARE BIGGER THAN 350 CHEVY 4 BOLT MAIN. I NEED TO FEEL THE POWER BETWEEN MY LEGS AGAIN! I replaced the wiring harness. I replaced the Ignition Switch. I replaced the Coils. Its not the timing. I also checked the wipe out shut down switch. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK ON THIS PROBLEM?(KNOWLEDGE) Thank you!

Hi there, can anyone out there help me please. I have a Yamaha SZR660, and I am looking to replace the forks from the original ones to a more updated pair, from any model of Yamaha say a FZR400rr or TZR250 V twin model. If you get a minute, please can anyone measure up any of their Yamaha models, and supply the dimensions of the forks, I am looking to replace the original ones that are 50mm at the top yoke and 53mm at the bottom yoke. Would much appreciate it if anyone out there nips into the garage with their vernier gauges and measure them please and let me know. hello do any members now if a yamaha xj400z import has a cut of switch in the engine if the oil is low as i am stillnot getting a spark or neutral light or even red ignition light the only thing i am getting is the red light with oil on it but all other electrics are working fine lights starter motor ect just no spark or ignition and neautral lights so could anyone please help as i have already had one member reply and there knowledge was very helpfull and as this is my first yamaha i havent realy got a clue any help would be very appreciated thanks.corey

How do i tell if my clutch is on its way out ? The bike seems to be jumping a bit at 100mph +, feels like its slipping and its been running hot, I think it smells like the clutch is burning a bit too, but this could just be my imagination.

Hello all, I have been all over the WEB and cannot locate anyone who has or can find or can sell me a workshop repair manual for a DT200R - any year - mine is a 1993 model. The bike was very popular in its day and was built over a ten year period yet I cannot find a manual anywhere. I have tried "shopmanualdownloads.com.au", "Haynes", "Gregories", "needhelpon.info/onlinemanuals", and other weird links. Please let me know if there was ever a workshop manual made for this model. I am green as mechanics go - how hard is it to renew the crankseal? I am blowing smoke like James Bond get away car and the rings were done not that long ago. cheers Andrew J
