Hi, New to the YZF750, just bought it and is a cracking bike. Was wandering though if anyone has ever seen a rear light replacement or if it can be done, fitting a more modern look light. Thanks for any help.

Can anyone suggest a remedy for my R1 steering noise. When I am driving over rough ground or braking hard I keep getting a loud click and short sharp vibration from the front end of my bike. I dont know if its coming from the steering bearings, the forks, or the floating brake disks, the click and the sudden vibration can be felt right up through the handle bars. The bike has done 8,000 miles, never pulled any wheelies, please, any ideas what it might be.

hello anyone who may read this. just for interest i've fixed my xj 600. after repairing it !! it would not run. had sparks, fuel, correct timing, etc, but no running. the problem ended up being the digital ignitor (ecu). after changing this, for a second hand unit the bike ran very well, the problem seemed to be, the ignitor was only sparking at an ADVANCED setting. so if your bike will not start, and every thing seems fine, don't assume ( like me!! ) it's sparking at the right time. i hope somebody may find this usefull? till later.

Hi I wonder if anyone can give me a little advise. I've developed a tapping noise in the front cylinder. Engine is quiet as anything when I start it up but after about five mins of running ie when the engine is getting hot it begins. Literally it sounds like chang chang chang like metal on metal when I excellerate it disappears and as the engine slows it returns. When turned off and engine has cooled and I start it again it's quiet. Any idea's what this could be. Thanks Bubblegum P.s I'm running a Virago 535

Hi all. I have two pre divvys and today the 900cc gears went stiff as i down chaged at traffic lights. Oil was changed a week ago and plenty in it. Clutch operation and bite is spot on. Gears ok from 1to 5 and back down linkage is ok also What the hell is it i can only asume its the internal gears are either worn or the selector inside is dammaged. Bike runs fine no strange noise etc. Andy

can anyone help me please!!! i've just put the head, pistons and barrels from my running xj600 (grearbox has failed ) onto a replacement lower half ( good gearbox i hope?? ) but it's refusing to fire or run. the timing was set to the haynes manual, valve clearence is fine, good strong sparks, got fuel, but the best it will do is backfire sometimes ( mainly through the carbs ). is it possible to time it 180 degrees out ?? any good idea would be a help, i'm stuck!!

Hi, I'm new to this site, but would appreciate any help / advice. I've just bought a 1974 MX100A to restore, but I'm based in Scotland and I've heard that this model is VERY rare over here, possibly the only one in the country! It uses Pre-Mix fuel / oil, but I don't know what ratio of mix to use, any ideas? Also, the original throttle cable, as listed on the Yamaha Parts Guide has 2 cables at the bottom end, presumably for the oil pump and throttle slide (Cable part nos. 402-26311-00-00 and 402-26312-00-00), but with this bike using pre-mix, is there an alternative single-ended cable I could use? (Maybe from a YZ80 or similar?) I'm looking at paint schemes fo…

HI All, I'm rebuilding a 1980 XS650. I found that the little tab on the frame that stops the triple tree from over steering was pushed to one side and hardly attached. While pushing it back it broke off. I'm looking for advice on putting it back on. I don't know much about welding and I'm apprehensive about messing with this part of the frame. Any Suggestions?
