Hi, I have a 1990 XT600E. The ignition switch has a 4 pin block on it. I just bought a new switch which has a 6 pin block. 4 of the wires match but the new one has 2 extra wires, a black one and a black and white one..... what do these extra wires do? Can I just ignore them? cheers Lee

Hi. Does anyone know if the alloy-rimmed rear wheel from a 77-ish xt500 (or even the alloy-rimmed wheel of later model dtmxs) can replace the steel-rimmed stock wheel of the 75/76 dt400s? Thanks in advance.

My 1993 XT350 is running to lean. I can't find athe adjustment screw to fix it. A mechanic says Yamaha covers the screw with lead to prevent customer adjustment. Does anyone know where the srcew is?

Hi peeps Can anyone tell me if a 120/70/17 tyre fit on a 1999 R6? Would it rub on mudguard or anything because me like a div have ordered and payed for the wrong size............ Many Thanks

hi, i did my head and barrel gasket on my dt 125 03 reg because the oil was creamy and was miss fireing, afta i put them on i didnt put my eghaust on and when i was filling the rad water came front the eghaust manefold, there is lots more comparsion and alot of water spuing out when i kick it. thanks if you can help me. tom

Does anyone know where I can get different coloured wires for my bike to replace worn/chafed ones? Also where can I get the black insulation - loom/harness? Has to be in the UK/shipping to the UK.

hello im a noob and i need help any help would be much appreciated i recently bought a 1977 xs360 i rode it home and it gave me no problems the next day it started having hesitation and choking issues while it was in gear and at speed this problem continued to get worse until the bike no longer ran the previous owner told me to replace the spark plug wires and points i spliced in new wires and boots i installed new spark plugs i installed a nos condenser i removed the carbs and cleaned them (although i had no idea what i was doing, i reassembled them correctly, i at least know this for sure) one thing that should be noted is that the one of the needle va…

hi can anyone tell me should the exup servo move when turning ignition on i have poor power under 3.5k then she flies not sure if valve or servo are working

I wonder if anyone can help. I am refitting the wiring harness on my 51J XJ600, its nearly all done but I cannot find a home for a single white wire ( in a black sleeve ). The wire appears to come from the bottom of the sump but I cannot find on the loom where it plugs into. I must get a Haynes manual for it or at least a wiring diagram. Many thanks

I have a 1988 yamaha 1300cc venture and the clutch slips when I give it full throttle the bike has 63000 miles

I recently bought this bike and it had no fluids in it. I put in oil,and blead the breaks.But my question is what kind of fluid do I put in the master cylinder for my clutch? It says dot3 brake fluid on the cap but that doesn't sound right,does it? And do I need to put anything in the oil cooler? I know I sound like I shouldnt even be on a bike having to ask these questions it's just been a long while since i've messed with one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My bike is A 86 FJ-1200fluids for my bike

My other half is in the process of fixing a DT125. He needs a stata plate for it, I believe its part of the ignition. Does anyone have one that is being broken or does anyone know what else would fit? Thanks Claire

when i change / kick down the gears, the paddle does not spring back up to kick down again. i have cleaned the linkages but the problem returs in a day or 2. took it to the dealer yesterday. they cleaned the linkage and said that this is the first time they had come across this problem and they will inform yamaha about the problem. has anyone had similar problem. the bike has only done 5000 miles

I sent my DT125R to the mechanic for an estimate to get it to pass MOT. Apparently the wiring is all screwed up with bits pulled out and uninsulated. Also the lighting coil is damaged and once all that is fixed I can add a headlight. He says that the lighting coil will cost around £180? Does that seem right, I can't seem to find the part anywhere, any ideas of where to get one apart from eBay? Could the light not just go from the battery or would that not pass MOT? Can I do this all my self if I set aside a lot of time and have the tools but little experiance? Any help could be much appreciated.

gday im from austrila and ive searched the forums for wiring diagrams ect for info om this partipular bike but no luck can u help plese im atm rebuilding it as it had a blown crank seal but i cant find anny help onthe net. i understand it has the same type of engine as the yamaha balser's. but i have a problen on top of the air cleaner as it has two wires a bule with whie stripe and i cant reember the other at this particuranr point of time anny help? and dose annyone know the price of a rebuild for parts it has cost me $600 for crank bearings seals conrod kit and top and bottom gaskits with the water pump aswell annyone know if these bike are good to keep as o have had …

yesterday night it... broke down! i bought the motor during 2003 brand new and till now it served me perftectly. tommorow i will go to local yamaha parts so as to buy a piston,1st stage ring ,gasket set etch...and of course take the cylinder to a good machinery so as to shine it my problem is that all night long i am trying to find a service manual of this bike and i cant.i just wanna check the codes of piston,gasket o-rings etc...and maybe the prices if available.if anyone has something like this plz notify.i imagine that in local yamaha store they will know but i am afraid that it will take some weeks to arrive in greece,teh parts i mean...so i would prefer…

hi peeps i own a d reg rd 125 mk 3 just had a top end rebuild its had a 1.5 rebore etc i though it was running sweet util i went to take it out it started spluttering then died then its a real pig to start does any one have any ideas please help
