Hello, I'm new to this forum as you can probably see, also I just bought a bike from a friend ( never had one ) which is a 93 FZR. For some odd reason the battery wont keep a charge. I can not start it up for a day...and when I goto start it...it'll be dead ( its a new battery ). I have to give it a jump And also...to start the bike I have to set the idle high like 3500 - 4000 range. Then tune it down once its started..could someone possibly help me diagnose these 2 issues? I'll give answers in as much detail as I can. And even post pictures if needed

Hey all. Hope someone can help me. I've just bought a T plate R1 with a knocking noise coming from somewhere on the engine. I've checked the valve clearances and changed the cam chain as a local yamaha dealer told me it was the cam chain. No joy. I'm about to strip the engine out and replace all the rings, bearings, gaskets etc and wondered if anyone was aware of any common faults on the engine that I should know about. This is a project so I'll be taking a couple of weeks or so to do it. If the weather gets better then I'll be thrashing my R6 and therefore take a couple of months to do it! LOL. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The only part of restoring the bike I didn't want to do is the electrical side, but it seems I have no choice as I dont have any lights apart from a my headlight (all 3 functions - sidelights/dipped/Main beam). Now last night when i swapped over my rear brake light unit to replace a crap aftermarket one, the brakelight did work momentarily. Now i have to be honest i have no idea where the fuse box is on a aerox so i cant check. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi this is my first yammy so i was just wondering if anyone could shed a bit of light on the rattles it makes it's a 06 plate R6 and the brake pads make a rattling noise when just riding on rough surfaces, sound's a bit weird but i don't know what the r6 should sound like. If anybody has the same problem please post it to put my mind at rest cheers

I have a yamaha yzf 600r. I was trying to reconnect the turn signal lights and i think it blew a fuse. I was unable to get a service manual for the bike so i need help figuring out where the fuses are and how to get the seat off of the bike. I know there are two screws on the side but something else is still holding it in pretty well. Any help would be appreciated i want to get it back on the road asap.

As title, I have only had the bike for 3 months and its now in the garage for a 2nd time for a fault. Problem is after riding for 20 - 30mins the engine seems to overheat and I get a ER_1 and ER_2 message on my dash. The digital speedo stays at 00 and the rev counter does not move whilst these messages are showing. I can still ride the bike but dont want to as it could affect my warranty. Any one have any ideas. I also find the gear change is clunky, unlike the Yamah TDM demo I have, Love that one. Any help would be much appreciated.

Alright guys, I have a 2003 Yamaha YZF-r6 ... after riding it for 15-20 mins the thing dies... the engine light pops on and wont turn back over... I took it in to the yamaha dealership to get fixed and they said it was the ignition switch... so i took it in and they put a new one in... well now iv had it for 2 days and i was coming home from school, parked it... 45 mins later i had to head to work, went to turn the motorcycle on and it did the same thing as it did when it died... but like in 2 hours it will run again.. any suggestions on what might be causing the problem? Thanks, Travis

Well now that i fixed the brakes i decided to take the aerox out and see how she went only problem was when i open the throttle full sod all happend just the engine revs so i thought s#@t the gearbox has gone or something so i opened it even more and it slowly started moving forward now im thinking it might just be the throttle cable needs adjusting or replacing but do you think it would be worth replacing the hole throttle twist part or just the cable any ideas thanks !!

Hi, this is my first ever motorbike, a 2001 yz 125, the bike is great even tho when i bought it i had 2 send the barrel of for a new sleeve, piston etc. Now i have got the bike running, i have problems with the carb. The over flow consistantlty runs when bike is idleing. Ive stripped it down and checked the float, its all free to move and when raised stops the flow of air if u blow into the fuel intake. I now need too run the bike only opening the tank flow slightly, but this is just starving the bike of fuel, but to much and petrol runs out of the carb over flow big time. Ive adjusted the carb so now there isnt alot of movement of the float before it should …
