My question is would I be able to use a rebuild kit from another yamaha for my radian?? I cant find one for the radian and I know the fz600 used the same carbs. I looked it up and found one for it and it looks like the diaphragm is the same as mine..

Hi, Can anyone tell me why my rear brakes are jamming up. The brakes work fine for several presses, but they slowly jam against the disc. The pedal travel is reduced and the pads seem to stay closed against the disc, not returning to there proper position. Which is causing the disc to overheat. Is it the master cylinder at fault or the rear brake calipar. Here in Australia, xs750 parts are around, but are extremly dear to buy. If I open the bleed nipple, the brakes return to normal, but slowly jam up again. Will putting a kit in either stop the problem. Would anyone know which is causing the problem - Master cylinder or the brake calipar. I would be most gratef…

Opinions welcome on when I should change the oil on my Yamaha SR250 Special. It's a standard 4 stroke, single piston engine. My usual garage is in Spain (yes I rode my Spanish bike to London) and they changed the oil before I left. I'm going to change the oil myself this time. Must be due I think. Is 1500 km a sensible distance between changes? And is there a filter I have to change, or just one to clean? Thanking you all in anticipation.

Hi has anybody expierienced this fault. Everytime i go to certain places and stop my bike the alarm refuses to deactivate ie imobilses my mike. its an r1 fitted with a meta 2 alarm from new.First came across this problem whils up at olivers mount uk. Having all parked up our bikes upon return my mate with a brand new triumph could start his bike due to alarm not deactivating. After calling out Garage ll the fitter did was roll the bike away down the road from the carpark. And it started. Looking around the carpark it appears that there was a mobile phone transmitter which knocked out the alarm signal ? Any way this has since happened to me twice at a different place (…

Hi Guys I've eventually managed to get the barrell off my mk1 dt 125 engine !!!!!!!!! chuffin tight nuts The engine did not have very good compression, That was no suprise as when i removed the barrell the top ring is missing !!! Would this also be the reason that when i did get the engine running water came out of the exhaust port (no exhaust fitted at the time) It took some force to move the crank round. Now it moves round very easliy there seems to be a very light covering of white goo ( water/oil mix) around the crank. Will this be a problem ?? or should i just replace the rings and re fit the barrell. ( By the way there are no scores …

so i'm adjusting the valves on my 78 xs400 and the right side comes out just fine. the left side, when i adjust to the correct gap at TDC, if i move it slightly off of TDC the gap widens to probably almost 1/8" (3mm) and the rocker arm kind of flops loosely. if i set it to it's widest point and gap it there, of course at TDC it leaves no gap at all. Also if i gap it at TDC and run it it knocks pretty badly. is this maybe a problem with the rocker arm needing adjusted? will it hurt anything to run it as is? this sounds like it could be more than i want to really get into, but the dealer here only seems to like to work on new bikes. thanks for the help

I have a DT125R with a leaking mono shock. Does anyone know how easy it is to replace, It appears to be just 2 bolts one at each end, is it a simple a it looks? Also I was looking at perhaps trying to find a used replacment, does anyone know if parts from bikes of other years will fit a 2003 model. Thanks, Anderz

Hi, I was checking over my bike and wanted to have a look at my Air filter, once I took off the top of the Air Box there was a lot of Oil in it, bike is pretty much stock, K&N air, oil filters and a Blue Flame can with 23000 miles on the clock, bike was never dropped or crashed, it runs just fine, starts first time every time. Did anyone have this problem before and know what it can be. Thank you Damian

last summer I bought a Yamaha Radian, shortly after I bought it the clutch started to slip, I rode it all summer long and it kept getting worse, so this winter I bought new fiber clutch plates so I could replace the old plates thus a new clutch. well when I tore it apart the clutch plates looked just as good as the new ones. ok so heres my question, I know the guy before me used car engine oil instead of motorcycle oil when he changed oil, when I changed the oil I used motorcycle oil, would this be enough to ruin the good clutch in the bike after 1200 miles ( aprox ) of rideing?

Hey guys, just got Fastbike magazine and theres an article advising that anyone with a pilot power or 2CT, thats made in france and has a particular batch number could be dangerous !!! Unfortunately for me, my front tyre is one of the dodgy batch so i have to take it in for a new tyre ( which is good cos i recently replaced the rear......so new set of hoops for me) has anyone got any experience of this? check the Michelin website for more details if you think you could be affected too. Cheers and stay safe
