    when i full lock the handle bars to the left the throttle cable tightens and the bike revs its arse off n its a-little dangerouse when i go round bends cuz iv got to watch i dont turn the handle bars to much........ What is the best thing i can do??????????

  2. Hey long time no see lost my password. Basically the other day when riding to a bike rally it cut out, as if it had no petrol. Checking the plug it didnt foul or get wet when trying to start so sugested blocked carb/jets. I cleaned the carb and now petorl is getting to the plug but it wont start, it does better gives out lovely big back fires with a nice big flame. It has a nice spark and seems to have compression due to thumb over the hole ( cant find anywhere that sells compression testers ) ive been told it could be reeds or timing could anyone give advice on changing timing on these bikes as i didnt know you could on cdi models. its a 56 plate. thanks guys i…

    had my bike in at the garage having the carbs setup as per my previous problem, when i went to collect the bike the mechanic said my can is to big causing my big not to rev right, the can is off a yzf 750, he also said my diaphram springs are to weak... is he talking rubbish or do i need to replace my can for a smaller one, and get new springs??

    Please help, I recently bought my son his first bike, a 2003 Yamaha PW80. He loves it but all of a sudden we started having problems. It is very hard to start now, I have to drain all the gas out of the carb before I can kick it over. When it does start it won't idle at all. You have to keep the throttle open a little or it will die. The worst part is that it now blows oil out the tail pipe! I mean alot of oil, it will cover a 2 or 3 square feet area behind the bike. Please help don't know what to do and my son really loves going out and riding. Thanks!

    I have a 2000 V Star 1100 Classic. Just recently the regulator/rectifier overheated and melted part of the connector/plug in on the bike wiring. Does anyone knoe where I can find another connector/plug? It also metled the plastic where the regulator/rectifier is mounted. Any suggestions on relocation, mounting alternatives, etc? Thanks

    I was wondering if anyone can help. I have a Dragstar 1100 which blew it's regulator two months ago, when it blew it fried the lot, gen, CDI unit, fuel pump, speedo, lights and batterie. £1500 later bike back on the road, now six weeks later the dam regulator has blown again, luckily I recognised the smell and stopped so this time only the regulator and batterie have blown. Has anyone else had this problem as both myself and the mechanic are baffeled as to why it should blow again as the whole system is now brand new with bonefide Yamaha parts?     My son has a 98 ttr 125. It recently has been bored with new piston&rings, Probably only a couple hours on new parts. Bike al;ways starts on 2nd or third kick.Very dependable.Went to race last night..kid statred bike up and drove over to practice...bike sputtered and died. Wouldnt start..even pushing it. Pulled plug...it has spark when we kick it. Pulled fuel line...gas coming into carb. Using same gas as last race so gas should be fine.Im thinking maybe a clogged jet but my sons saying it doesnt feel like it has the same compression (feels ok to me). My compression gauge is too big to fit plug hole so I cant check it at the moment.Any ideas??

    right i have just rebuilt my tzr 125 1989 all of the engine parts are in extremely good condition, i have just done about 280 miles after the rebuild running it in gentally keeping it under 5000k and now its not starting atall. its not firing atall i dont know what the problem is because i have a reasonably good spark lots of compression carb seems to be working fine as you can smell the petrol when its kicked over without the plug in. the oil mix is set to standard from the haynes manual as is the fuel mixture. i really dont know why its not fireing, it should be as it has a spark :S if you have any ideas pleeeease help cause im stuck and i dont wana have to take it to t…

    got a 1994 super tenere 750. has been missing terribly/losing power going up hill. changed plugs 5 months ago, went fine, but slowly gets back to square one. backfires when coming down hill/change down a gear., and struggles to get up hills - and misses badly and basically sounds more like chitty bang bang than a bike!.just changed plugs again and checked air filters, and it's going well again. old(ish) plugs were black and sooty. changing the plugs and getting to air filters has been the pinnacle of my mechanical career so far, and any suggetsions on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated! jaff

    Hello all. I purchased a beautifully taken care of 1994 FZR1000 two weeks ago. I am new to street bikes, but not new to motorcycles, I raced motocross for 15 years, and maintained all my bikes(full engine rebuilds and all). On my way home from work today, I noticed a tapping noise coming from my new baby. It sounded like a valve severly out of adjustment, or something to that effect. When I got home, a mechanics stethiscope lead me to the rear of the engine. I could not identify the noise source perfectly, but it was loudest from the clutch cover.     I got myself a new barrel and piston kit, which is a 60cc big bore kit. Since my 50cc seized up and died. I was wondering would I need to get a new / bigger jet?? or would it work okay with the same one.. Thanks in advance..

    Hey all Have a question, I'm trying to sort out some rough closed-to-1/4-open throttle issues with my 86 FZ600 carbs (New rider, First bike). Does anyone know what the average/default settings for mixture screws might be? I've read anywhere from 1.5 turns to 3, I hate not knowing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    having been sat a while I got the old bike out of the shed fresh fuel, batt and plugs. after a few days I discovered that the remote throttle stop screw was usless so I improvised with a small bolt, which holds it in the right place, however when I start it up it backfires then settles its self to a steady 1000rpm,s then for some reason revs its self to 3500rpm,s and sits there, the throttle linkage does not move so I'm at a loss as to why it does this. anyone got any ideas? les

    hi there guys, i need some help, iv just passed my bike test and bought a fzr 600 iv had the bike about 2 months now and had this on going problem, well its got a problem when i rev it on the spot it goes round to 9000rpm then pops and spits a flame out the exhaust it only does it at wot if i rev it gently it will go all the way up too the redline, it also does it while riding it and is very frustrating, the carbs have been cleaned and i checked what jets are fitted (all standard ) the needles have 5 grooves (set at 2) and mixture screw set at 3 turns out, iv not synced them as iv not got acsess to a sync tool, spark plugs are new, air filter is new, any help would be ver…
