I went to change the oil yesterday but the drain plug seems seized. Any ideas on how to undo it? Just to check I'm using the right tool though. Is it 17 mm or is it an imperial size? My 17mm open end spanner fits but a socket or ring spanner of the same size doesn't. If it's imperial what size is it? If any one can help I'd appreciate it.

I have a 80cc Chappy that I just got. It started and ran for about 2 minutes then quit like someone turned off the key, even though the key is on... It has 120lbs+ of compression, good spark, yet wont so much as "pop", even with ether. I've put in a new plug, a new set of points and condenser. Still, nothing... I've checked the reed valves and they look ok. No visible leaks or damage. What now??? Help! I think I need to go back to school. I am in need of some help with my carb and oil injector... does anybody have AIM or MSN messenger so we don't have to ping pong back and forth on the forum? So here is the problem when it ran it smoked blue really bad but it had good power. The bike sat for a few years so I thought there imight be oil in the pipe. A couple of days ago it started running badly like pop 4/5 times then it ran good for awhile. Now it will not start or pop and it gets the plug wet. Any ideas on things that I should set on the carb or change in the oil injector?

Could someone please tell me the valve clearences and points gap for my xs 250. I think it's an 83 model. Has the tail peace on the seat.

I want to remove the wheels, but need to know what to use to jack it up off the ground. my dad has a motorcycle jack, but that would ruin the fairings right? i saw something called a swing arm stand but i dont get how they work. what would you guys prefer?

on my 1999 R1 everytime i turn the ignition on the trip meter has reset and the total milage is displayed, getting to be a pain. is this a power problem(battery etc) or a dying clock kind of problem ? if it is a power problem it must be tiny as the alarm doesnt go off to signal a power drop. i am confused, anyone know of this fault or how to fix it??????????????????? any info would be a great help. thanks

I need help. I spilled my bike-(layed it down on dirt on the left side) and I end up with an oil leak on the right side--maybe unrelated but it appears to be coming out of the gasket between the outside cover and the lower case about 2 inches behind the oil pump area. Question is ---how hard is it to remove the outer cover? Does the tach cable remove easily--looks like the shift cable and kick lever come off quite easy. Any advice would be appreciated. I am hoping that all I need is a new gasket.

I have a rear wheel lock up yesterday and couldn't stop my R1 on a roundabout before I hit the cerd. I hit it at a slight angle then the front wheel is not pointing in quite the same direction as the handle bars. Its still ridable but a feels a bit strange is this is major problen to fix or an easy one, if so then how?
