  1. I have got some Akrapovic SP cans and a K&N air filter for my 06 Fazer FZ6, just wondering if anyone could tell me if the ECU will sort out any fuel/running changes that occur from fitting one? Someone told me he had a flat spot through the rev's after fitting an aftermarket can. Also what is the best thing to do with the cat pipe? Drill it out, if anyone has done that, or buy a new one? I have purchased one in the past but it didnt fit. Any help greatly appreciated. Jim

    Alreet folks. I've heard a few reports lately sayin that there's a restrictor plate of some kind in the 06/07 R6. Anyone know anything about this and if it's worth removing if it is there? Cheers

    im doing a d reg tzr 125 up that i got as a non runner. ive not been getting a spark but when i dissconnect the black and yellow wires from the cdi i do, i was wondering what the black and yellow wires do, and where they are ment to go. because im stumped

    Hello. I have an 86' FZ600 that I barely use, but every now and then I start it to keep it in shape. Well, beside having some air leaks on the rubber manifolds, sometimes things get sticky inside the carbs. So, I proceeded to remove the carbs to clean them (as I done 2 times before in the last 4 years) and I did not have any problems at all. As I started to put the carbs on the manifolds, I was trying to put the throttle cable back on the cable holder but I did not have enough slack on the cable. That strucked me as odd because I did not have any trouble when I pulled it off. Thinking that maybe something move on the handle bar I removed the cable from the throttle grip.…

    just bought a 2001 R6 today, rode it home about 40 miles with a few mates, started fine and rode well now, i try to set off to the post office and it takes a bit longer than it should to start, however gets going and is fine when i get back i go to leave again and it wont start at all, managed to get a start with loads of throttle but needs to be kept fully open to hold a very weak idle, as soon as you wind off the throttle it dies its def getting fuel, batteries a bit low but we managed to bump it, however again it wont hold an idle without lots the throttle. checked fuses and wiring for crossed connections and all seems to be fine. also the oil light has …

    My wife rides a 01 1100V Star equiped with a hardkrome 2 ito one sideburner pipe,jet kit and hyperchager.Pulled it out this spring fired it up ran great.Jumped on it last week and anything above half throttle it goes into a miss.Pulled the carbs went through them found nothing wrong.Went ahead and set the valves and checked the rest of the fuel system out and pump output mets spec.You can hold the throttle 1/4 open going down the road it wines up and does'nt miss a beat crack it open it falls on it's face.It ran great this spring but the wife rides it and never gets on it enough to notice there was a problem.I have worked on bikes for quite a few years but have never gott…

  7. hi all could someone plz tell me ok i have a yamaha xt 400 1993 model no spark from the engine there are 3 white wires running to regulator with a feed back to battery, there is also 2 other wires coming from engine should these provide spark to cdi?? for timing or just one of them ??or do you have to earth 1 or put a live to 1 to get it to produce power as they seem dead any info or help would be nice thanks Question Rolling Eyes ps also if they should produce power what do i need to fix and about how much will it cost for parts to sort out ??

    Hi Guys, last one for the moment i hope. I've just had a 125 lc mk111 enginen compression tested and the result was 60psi Is this any good ?? If so i can just lob it straight into the frame, as u can probably tell from my other workshop threads i'm not that mechanically minded lol Thanking u in advance Mark

    Hi guys thanks for your response on my wanting to engine swap . I'm in need of advice again please.- I have just jump started my mk1 dt125lc without an exhaust on just to see if it starts !!!!!!!!!!! It did, but alot of water was spu ing out of the exhuast outlet port !!! does anybody know y this is, the engine seems to have very low compression as i can push the kick start with my hand very easily.     My XVS125 Dragster will run fine for a while and then all of a sudden lose power. It will tick over but as soon as I touch the throttle it dies. I've cleaned the Carb and the fuel tank, there was a lot of dirt in the fuel. What else can be the cause?

    hi to all, apologies that my first post is to ask advice on a problem, and im not very mechanically minded. i bought a 1995 tdm last week, and she had started ok for the first few times. however, when i went to start it two days ago all i got was the engine trying to turn over but seemingly no spark or sometjhing, and the more times i tried it, the lower the battery seemed to get. now when i went yesterday to try again all im getting is a clicking noise and the rev counter needle moves slightly. could it be the battery? which seems to be a nightmare to access as its away in below the petrol tank? how on earth do i get it out to charge it? maybe its something else that im …

    I'm not getting any spark and then I noticed that right off the ignition coil assemblies there was three wires a red, brown, and blue wire and they are getting extremely hot when the key is turned on. Does this sound like a short or something else? thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas Josh

    A bit over a year ago my XV700's ignitor box failed. It went to only rear cylinder firing. The front coil had some spark, but too weak to fire cylinder, and spark dissapeared at any throttle above idle. I bought another used one & she then ran fine. Now she did the same thing again over the weekend. Limped home on one cylinder. Lucky I was only 30 miles from home. Wondering if this was/is a problem with these models?? I'm looking at new ignitor box, but wanted to make sure there isn't anything else that could lead to the ignitor failure. I love the Virago line. My plan is to repair this one, sell it, then get a later model Virago 1100. But I want this one …

    Hi, the cylinderfot gasket on my Big Bear 350 -92 (4-Stroke, SOHC) is leaking some oil and i was woundering, is it difficult to change it yourself? Also, when the engien runs on idle i can feel like small "hits" (spec. when its cold) What might it be? And last, when i put full throttle, from idle, the engien dies. You have to give som gas first, then its ok to give full. Is this normal? Thanks for any help!

    My friend has the majesty 400cc and was wondering if there is a online workshop manual for his bike because as you are all aware the dealers are getting to expensive to keep taking your bikes to so he wants to be able to change all the oils in the bike and maybe the belt at some point so if anyone change help Many thanks Richard

    IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN ADVISE ON PAINT CODES FOR A BLUE 2003 YZF R6, LOST MY FOOTING AND DROPPED BIKE QUITE GENTLY BUT CANNOT FIND PAINT CODE ON BIKE OR MANUAL ETC. CANT WAIT TO GET IT SPRAYED TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD!!!

    im planning on rebuilding my bike as it has a leak in the crank case somewhere which is causeing it to idle high, cut out and not rev smoothly. has anyone rebuilt one of these before, when taking it apart what things must be replaced i know i need to get new gasgets do i need new rings too? any info you have on the topic would be halpfull, thanks, Dan.
