Hi My friend has a 1100 Dragstar and tells me the low oil pressure switch light located in the fuel tank panel flashes from time to time Can someone please tell me where this pressure switch is located and is it accessible?. Thanks Muzz

i posted on here that my dtr had an oil leak and i couldnt tell whaere it was coming from. well i cleaned my bike till it was spotless, took it out for a ride and iv discovered that oil is being blown from some kind of breather on top of the engine. what is this breather and how can i stop it doing this?!!!! any help much appreciated :-)

Hey yall I just a 1980 400 special2 and i just put it together and got it running does anyone know the specific settings for the feul and air, shes ruunning alittle rich. much as i love my rsx the 6 volt system is getting on my wick. does anyone know is it possible to upgrade to a 12 volt system? it would be nice to have the indicators flash at idle for a change!!!!.

I have a 2001 R6 and while out riding today I thought it misfired. As I kept riding my oil light kept lighting up but turned off when I dropped my revs and speed, only to come back on when I increased my speed. Any idea's lads?

Taken mine out for cleaning/ lubing but now I can't get rid of a rattle that wasn't there before I "fixed" it. I have the ceramic? bush (about 4mm width) on the far end of the valve itself, but I'm not sure if there should be another item. The workshop manual shows two bushes (not clearly), should one of them stay put inside the exhaust? Sorry for all the ? marks, but any links /photos would help. Thanks.

This is my first post so HOWDY! I have a carb question, I was basically given an 83 XS 400 DOHC from a friend of mine and I'm having carb issues. Does anyone know what carbs are supposed to be on the bike? I think the bike might have been pieced together over the years and I want to know where I'm starting from. Any input is appreciated!

My 88 FZ600 has a sticky feel when the front brakes lever is pulled. I pull it in and it sticks, then I can pull harder and move it some more then sticks, etc. Any info on what I can look for is helpful.

First of all I have two questions... I have a 96 yzf 600 that I just bought about 2 weeks ago. The guy said he upgraded the sprockets. I tightned the chain because it was way to loose when I first bought it, rode it a little and re tightned it because I didn't get it quite there. So then I tested it again and it seemed fine but now it makes a funny noise as it rotates when I'm driving. So I Went to bed then felt the chain the next day and it was extremely tight like it tightned by itself. I loosened it a little but it still makes a weird noise. I proped the bike up and in neutral i rotated the wheel and in certain spots the wheel sticks really bad and is hard to move. …

Hey there folks, Sorry, its been a while since i been able to post but just been catchin up with the posts for the past hour there...lots of very knowledgable guyz and galz out there. Was hoping for some advise.... Firstly, I got me some new Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's for my R6......feckin hell.. they are sticky !!! just put 200 miles on em last week to get them run in. however, I checked my pressures before the ride and they were a bit off I think. Does anyone know what the correct tyre pressures (cold) are front and back??? think mine are currently 36 front and 36 back.?? Also, just fitted me a new zorst......Scorpion Street Extreme Carbon …

Helpin sis with her new bike.(my profile name) Posted an introduction yesterday. http://www.yamahaclub.com/forums/Introduction-t6516.html It's 1984 XS400 Maxim that runs but has some issues. 1. Left pipe stays cold when running. Cylinder not firing I assume?? 2. Oil around left exhaust 3. Starts w/choke but cuts out the second you give it gas or try to take choke off. 4. Stalls when you try to put it gear. That's all I know for now. Just began the tearddown. Here's some pics.... Any tips/advice on what to check first would be appreciated. Thanks Lino Yuck!!!!! I took of the fuel tank yesterday and worked on the engine. I put the tank back on, hooked everything up and now the tackometer bounces everyonce in a while and I don't know how to get it to stop. My friend said it was a way to display an error for the bike and it had to do with fuel lines or something similar. Please help. Thank you

Hello everyone This is an update to my post on the knocking engine saga during the week. I have taken the bike in to the garage today for a checkup. (Reminder YP250 Majesty - 4 stroke liquid cooled engine with knock after low oil). I have now been told it is the cam that is knocking, I have given it an engine flush, and changed the oil. The mechanic told me the bike should be fine to ride for a few more thousand miles like this. What do folks think of this? Should I be riding the bike at all? How difficult is it to repair this kind of problem? I am technically minded so would be happy to tackle it myself. I would imagine it is one of the bearings that is shot. …

I've recently bought a 2003 Fazer600 and find the gearbox has quite a low pitched whine in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears, it could be there in the higher gears as well but when you are up to speed you can't hear it. This is the first Fazer i've had and the first Yamaha since a 350LC in the 80's. Is it a characteristic of these boxes or can anyone give me any advice please?

hi guys, i have a little yammy aerox 50 scooter 05 reg & have just had fitted a sports exhaust to get a bit of extra speed, i also changed the variator rollers & clutch springs but from a standing start the pull away is very poor up to about 12 mph then it flys along perfectly. i havent touched the carb at all so was wondering if i need to adjust the mixture screw, or up jet, or raise the needle ? please please help !!!!!! thanks

I need to wire the source coil, lighting 1&2 coils on the stator plate on my 1973 DT3 Yamaha Enduro 250cc but can not find the detailed wiring diagram. I checked the usual sources ( Clymer etc), but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I am hoping someone might have some advice for me. I have a YP250 Majesty. On the way to work this morning I had a loss of power after about 5 mins riding. I pulled over and saw the temp guage had shot up. I switched the bike off, gave it a couple of seconds and switched on. The engine kicked up straight away and had full power, but had a knocking sound coming from the engine. It sounds as if the exhaust had popped. I got the bike home and found the oil was a bit low, operating temp was normal, but this knock was still there. If I rev the bike (reluctant to this) the knocking speeds up and gets louder. Any ideas or advice appreciated.
