hey i just got a 1981 dt125 and it started ok when we first got it , well for about a day and then it wouldent start very easialy, so i took it home from my cabin and cleaned the carb and it still wont start. the oil light also comes on usually i need some help to fix this baby so if any of you can help please i need help than ks greg

XS850 petrol taps run when set on although there is no vacuum (engine still). Seals and vac control fittings have been renewed. Any comments or suggestions?

Hello all My first post here. Today i went to my bike as normal turn on the ignition, pressed the starter switch and nothing zilch. Has no alarm or imobiliser on it All lights, horn and indicators are working fine just the starter switch has ceased to work, if anyone has had a similar problem or knows of what this could be i'd be very greatful.

Hello all iv just had my dt125r rebored and rebuilt after around 15 minutes of steady riding i left it ticking over after a couple of minutes the engine stopped it has now lost all of its coolant out of the exhaust port the shop has told me that they will have it in to look at it but i would like some thoughts before i get there do you think its the head gasket although it was new or may be a warped head or could it be some thing else .

Hi, i have a 2006 R1 with a Meta alarm / immobiliser and powercommander fitted to my bike. over winter i am thinking about bringing the battery indoors and connecting it to a Optimate battery conditioner. When i put the battery back on the bike will the alarm and powercommander work normally or will they need resetting?

Hello, I have a problem with rev limiter coming in at 3000 revs on a yzf 750r but if i flick the engine run switch off and back on its ok for a bit then it does it again, weve tried everything fuel side and plugs leads and cdi units, also reserve switch on and off, nothings cured it yet, anyone heard of this problem or experienced anything like it any response would be greatly appreciated. I took off the starter and I can see there are teeth missing off the starter clutch (the big side of the gear with little teeth). I can see there is an inch gap where the gear has been sheared. When i got the bike, the guy gave me the part to put in, just a gear and a pin to hold it in place. will i have to just take the case cover off or am I going to have to split the case? How likely is it that other damage is inside? How can i make sure those gear teeth aren't floating around my engine causing damage?

I have two 1974 Yamaha DT 360 enduros. Both will start and run clean for around 3 seconds and then die. The carbs have been cleaned the fuel and plugs are new. all lighting and kill switches have been disconnected. Both bikes do exactly the same thing. Has any one experienced this. I am not very good at wiring. I have an ohm meter but do not know how to use it. Can any one help? Bill

My 20 year old engine is on it's last legs/bearings/whatever. I've kept it going with parts from a later engine, probably 10 years old. Mechanically, the two engines are identical so it seems. I've got another engine, also ~10 years old, that I've just put back together. I note that the connector blocks on the generator/ignition pickup are different. Rather than hack off the connectors and wire up the new engine to the old loom, I thought I'd just use the whole engine casing/cover from the old engine mounted to the newer one. (The casing houses the generator and ignition pickup.) I will need to look at the magneto thing, to see if they are the same I guess. Also, th…

Hi, my SR125 is giving me a headache. It won`t start correctly. Basically the only way I can get it to start without throttle is to fully turn the throttle stop screw adjuster all the way in (basically the same as giving throttle) but this leads to crazily high idle speeds & once I adjust the idle speed back to normal if I try to use the throttle it hangs at high revs for several seconds before attempting to idle properly again & the engine will eventually die + not restart without going through the whole procedure again. The choke doesn`t help starting at all. Noticed white smoke from the exhaust also, but could just be condensation? Carbs have been cleane…

Currently building a Streetfighter based on TDM850 3vd 1992, heard that you can fit 41mm Flatslide Kehien carbs on but I'm wanting to find anybody that has already done this to see if it is actually worth doing before I spend obscene amounts of money. hi, struggling to remove suspension linkage on my 1988 dt125r.There is a small bolt on one side and a large bolt on the other.From what i can see small bolt screws into large one.Small bolt unscrews ok, large one just spins.Need to remove it as i want to get the frame powder coated, anyone got any ideas!!!!
