    hi again.ive just been up the rd on bike and noticed that now the rev counter dont work.ive noticed these are not cable.any ideas for why stopped working?

    hi folks.help needed.i resently gota xtz750.can you run them with one fuel tap turned off.i ask this coz if run with both taps on,the bike seems to flood.when run on reserve the bike seems to run much better.is this a common problem with them??

    Hi all, I have got a Yamaha DT125R And i put a new front pipe on it, Just a standard one i bought off the bay cause mine had massive whole in it. But once i have my new silencer i would like to Re-jet it if anybody had a guide that would be great. I would also like to find out on how to de-restrict my Yamaha? thanks Phil

    Well that's not entirely true. It will when revved at standstill but won't while accelerating on it. It's an FZR400 3tj fitted with an FZR600 4jh engine with FZR600 3he carbs and a standard 3tj exhaust on it. Unsure which model the ignition system is from. So far have tried a bigger fuel pump, checked the carb diaphrams and tried both open and closed exhausts on it. There is no exup valve on the front pipes to be jammed closed. It has reasonably good acceleration lower down but fades towards the 8k mark. Could the ignition be at fault or would the carbs limit it (can't quite see how) or is it possibly symptomatic of some deeper issue? Maybe the front pipes are from the…

    Help.. Help..Please I have a yzf 750r 93-94 model with a Factory pro kit installed, not sure which one but it has k&n foam filters on the carbs. It wont rev above 4000 revs and cant figure out why (nor can my local bike shop), can anyone let me know exactly what mods are made to the carbs please, it was done when i bought the bike and i have no info on it.     Hi All, Got a few more questions regarding my new ride ... apologies if they seem a bit retarded but I like to know all is as should be... - When warmed up the engine seems to 'chug' on idle... revs stay between 1200-1300rpm and it revs smoothly and freely... it just doesnt seem to idle as smooth as my old Bandit 600... is this normal? - It doesnt start without a little use of throttle... is this normal? - Does anyone have decent suspension settings for this bike? - I have no idea what they are on at the moment but the front forks feel soft - Do the valve clearances need doing often on these bikes? - I believe they are shims? - Also how do I…

    Hi all, I have a yamaha DT125R. I want to make it look more motocross because it's always used offroad mx it will never be used on the road again. So i have no use for the keys, speedo etc. How would i go about taking all off these of? I want to take headlight off aswell and have the plastic thingy that goes over it with my number there.     I have won a Yamaha Chappy LB50 on ebay. The owner left it with a place to get a new lockset and ignition for it, plus get a MOT. He has came back and they can't get a ignition for it. As its built into the speedo: Anyone know where I can get one ASAP? Thanks John

    I have a pair of mufflers that have rusted badly. Everything chrome plated on the bike will be painted dull black. Now I know the easy answer is to throw the mufflers away, but I just want to try and save them for now. I don't weld, so that option is out. I have not had success with muffler cement in the past, and I am thinking of using a thin metal as a patch and covering the area with JB Weld. What other ideas can I try? Rusty Silencers

    Hey all, please go easy on me as I'm new to bikes I just picked up a 2002 Fazer 600, it's in pretty good condition apart from one metal cover is quite corroded and doesn't look very good (see below) What is this cover hiding, and can it be replaced, will the oil need to be drained? Cheers

    pressure washed my bike yesterday ybr 125. Mainly to get all the crap off it from the salt and winter roads. Gone to use it today and it wont start the neutral light doesnt come on none of the lights horn etc work. Anyone got any ideas battery maybe? Im thinking maybe water has got in somewhere.

    Hi all, Would anyone know what might be going on here? I have been restoring the old girl for a few months now, but have only ever been able to kickstart. Starter would turn over very slowly regardless of battery charge. I pulled out starter motor, stripped, cleaned and reinstalled. All I get now is a frantic ticking from the solenoid. I'm not sure what to do now except replace both but for the cost of doing that in Australia I might just keep on kickstarting (although its a killer in 40 degree celcius heat!! (105F) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Would anyone know why the sump refuses to come off my XS500? All 11 bolts are out, although both sump plugs are still in, plugs are trashed so I thought it would be easier to replace the sump. The mallet and screwdriver have been in use (aahhhhhh!!!!) although this is not what I expected! Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers, Woody

    Hiya, I'm new to this forum and have tried to do a search on information on the YZF750R. I bought one for doing track days on and so far find it a great bike. However my second from last track day I had an off on it, its not too bad, the bike is still running (and running well) however I managed to completely mash the fairing and put a hoofing great dent in the tank. I've managed to get a second hand fairing from a chap on eBay and also bought a tank, however the tank that I bought is from a FZR1000 by the look of it. My question is can I get the FZR1000 tank to work on the YZF? The 2 tanks are roughly the same shape so it will physically fit how…

    Hi there. I have a Yamaha Townmate T80 step-thru 1998. I am currently servicing the bike but have come across a problem... I have followed the Haynes workshop manual but I cannot find any timing marks on the left hand side crankcase cover as described, and the book does not show a picture or diagram showing the position.     hi, can anybody help, i have an fz750 genesis 1997 which shot the con rod through the casing, i have since swapped the engine for another of the same but not getting a spark at 2 and 3, tested coil and thats ok, the original engine had a pick up coil on both sides, the replacement hasnt, can anybody tell me what i can do.
