    hi i have a 97 xj600 with a sticky clutch when bike has stood the clutch will not disengage rock it in gear it will free and is fine leave it for 5- 10 mins and it sticks again i have stripped clutch every thing looks ok. having just purchased this as a non runner and i think it had been standing for a few months do you think the plates have dryed out and is there a soultion apart from renewing the clutch plates thanxs

    I made the dual low beam mod to my 2007 FZ6 on 12/31/07, 1yr anniversary of purchase. Its got 20,025 miles and has run flawlessly since purchase. I started the bike after the mod and everything was fine. Temps in the teens kept me from riding the rest of the week. Yesterday, 1/5/08 suited up for a ride to check out the night time improvement of the mod and the bike would not start. Turn the ignition to run, it goes through the diagnostic fine, hit the starter button and the engine tries to start but never really turns over. Checked gas, battery, fuses, eng stop switch is in the run position. Anyone had a similar problem?

    I've got a 74 (according to the title) xs360. Kick start only. I've run it a few times since I picked it up two weeks ago otherwise it sits on a motorcycle jack in my garage. It was idling poorly so I replaced the carb holders with new ones (xs400 ones from ebay) and put some cone filters on it (previous owner had no filters in the airboxes.. yay). This smoothed out the idle but it was still doing this weird thing where if you revved it it would hang at 3k and then drop randomly if i touched the choke. I pulled the carb the other night, pulled the covers off the top and bottom, pulled the springy floats out and stuff, sprayed it out with carb cleaner. Put…

    Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am about to fit new valve stem seals so need to get the rockers off etc. Now the rocker arm shafts have a thread on them which you use to screw in a slide hammer and tap (pull) them out. I have a cd manual for a TTR125 which uses the same engine. This states that the tool required is part number 90890-01085 for the bolt. (I also lists a different tool number for the USA) The thread is almost a M6, but not quite! My question is does anybody know what the thread is? I asked on Thumpertalk.com, and people there were very helpful and all said it is M8 just like the cam, which it obviously isn't! (so that must …

    Just tried to start my fazer 600 up and failed and now I have a flat battery. The silly question now is where is the battery and how do you get to it,if its under the tank will I have to remove the tank first? If my car battery goes flat I have a cheap charger for it,will I be able to use the same charger for my bike? Any advice will be most welcome thanks. Daz

    over the last 5 weeks, the bike starts fine, after a constant run for about 10 to 15 mins when i close down the trottle it does not stay in tick over, it will start again but it keeps happening, this only happens in the morning. in the evening after the bike is standing parked for about 9hours, i start as normal and it runs fine even though the weather is still cold. i have had the bike full serviced, am trying some silkoline anti freezing agent in the petrol to hopefully stop carb icing but it is still happening. can anyone help?????

    ive just bought a brand new dtx 125 (supermoto) and i need to know how to de-restrict it, is there anything different from the older models, as it has digital clock and im not sure about it having a powervalve.

    Could somebody please aid me in my quest to sort my bike out. I'm no mechanic but understand the principles involved. I have a Yamaha XVS 125 and the clutch cable recently frayed so i replaced it. However, after tightening the cable and adjusting the free play the clutch still wouldn't disengage. Even physically pushing across the lever (the one which sits atop the clutch assembly) as far as it goes will not disengage the clutch which leads me to believe that it may well be something inside. Could anyone please give me a little insight into what the problem may be and what possible remedies i could implement. Thankyou

    I may be repeating an earlier thread, but I can't find it... I've just put a deposit on a lovely 2002 FZS600 and wanted to ask if anyone knows how hard it would be to replace the pipes with stainless steel as the current "black" ones are the typical rusty mess! Clearly I need full downpipes into a collecting box and then with some way of connecting to the silencer/can. I know I'll need 4 x 42mm gaskets, but is that everything, and how difficult are the headers to remove from the manifold? I don't want to get stuck halfway through the job so that other people can say I'm just a stoopid woman! Also, I'm thinking a rad cover would be a good plan but again, I'm wondering …

    hi everyone i just bought this dt125x nice bike but has just developed this problem when i start bike it ticks over ok but when i put into first gear it starts of well till i give it more throttle then makes a noise as if it losing power..engine starts dying i no its hard to no what i mean but does anyone have an idea what wrong.alza

    Hi can anyone help? Have just aquired a 91 FZR 1000 has only done 14,000 miles rode home fine but now cant seam to get it started!! It's getting fuel because the plugs are getting wet, its sparking on all cylinders and it seems to have compression,its trying to start but wont fire up and run???? Has anyone got any ideas

    I have recently bought a cheap RXS 100 to use to get to work and back, but upon standing in the garage for a week the 2 stroke tank appears to have emptied its contents. There is no leak on the 2 stroke tank, any of the piping or from the oil pump. The gearbox was full and overflowing through the dipstick and from the colour of the oil it looks like it has 2 stroke oil mixed with gearbox oil in it. Is this possible and if so does anyone have any ideas on a fix. The bike starts and runs fine (although as the bike has no MOT i have not been able to road test it). Cheers for any help. Matt

    hi there guys, first let me say a BIG HELLO and then to business im new to the forum and joined hopefully to learn about the yamaha r series throttle body system, i dont actually own a yamaha r series bike but i do have a DAX Rush kit car that is currently using old R1 carb's to NA the engine. i am currently planning to upgrade the carb system to the R6 injection throttle bodies. i have had a stainless steel inlet manifold made to allow for the carbs to fit to the pinto head. what i need to know is,do the R6 throttle bodies have the same mounting face (the part that meets the inlet manifold) as the R1 carbs and would it be possible for me just to remove th…
