Hi all, I went out riding on saturday, Got back and cleaned by bike (it was completely muddy) with a jetwash, then after that. I started it up and went for a quick ride! Then i put it away in my garage. Today i went to start it, and it usally starts first time every time.. But now i can't start it whatsoever! My dad suggested the plug may be a bit damp and take the cap lead thingy off and spray some WD40 in there! I did that but there was no diffrence, He thinks the spark plug may be broken? It is rather old spark plug. I just don;t understand how it worked after i had just cleaned it and not today. Maby i got some water somewhere! Anyway any help would be great.. …

I have tapered roller head bearings on my XJ550. The outer race is a smaller diameter than the headstock internal diameter, as a consequence there is no land showing on the outer race to drift them out. I have tried heating the tube and bashing with a mallet but they won't 'fall out'. Has anyone any ideas for removing the outer races ? Thanks Steve

I have a 1992 Seca II XJ600 and i am splitting the case. I cant get the damn thing apart and i don't want to mess up my case prying it apart. I used a shop manual and removed all 35 bolts and i still cant get it off. The timing and pressure valves are off too. I only need to get into the bottom, I am not touching the upper half. if any one has some suggestion on how to do this with out damaging anything, please let me know. there is only one pry point, is there any where else I should apply pressure? Hi, I have a techtronics quickshifter on my 2000 R1 race bike and the bypass switch is damaged. I have bought a new switch which is a standard 2 wire and can mount it on my handlebars. The bypass switch had 4 wires. Can I use this 2 wire switch as a bypass switch and will it still do the job? Here is the diagram of the wiring from Techtronics Racing.

I am a late starter to biking and go from one problem to another! Now having probs with warming up my XJ600. She starts fine with the choke on, but when the revs build up I ease the choke in partly, and then the revs gradually drop for some reason. If I pull the choke back out then she dies, but if I turn it off she chugs and then stalls. When fully warmed up (eg after couple of miles) she runs fine and ticks over at about 1500 rpm. Can anyone help???

Hi, Just started restoring a 1991 Fzr 600. I don't know much about this bike as I have just inherited it from my late brother My brother stored it for 2 years in a garage, it started. with a charged battery, oil change etc.....But there is a slight misfire. So armed with my Haynes bible, I will start the process of fault finding. My only problem is what is the best spark plug tool to use and what size? Your help would be appreciated. regards Andy

I'm after some help and advice. I have just bought a 94 YZF750R. Not had a bike for a few years. It's the same old thing. It works fine when you ride it away, and then the next day problems start to rear their ugly heads. I've had it 3 weeks now and when it's cold (1st thing in the morning) or if it's raining, it's a bugger to get running. If I go straight in with the choke then it gets flooded. A few minutes later I'll get a backfire. Not really ideal at 0700hrs in a quiet culdesac! If i try to start it without choke, it'll 'put put' and stop. The engine will turn over but there is no spark. Then, if I put the choke on, it'll take 2-3 atempts then it'll fi…

I then put it back to how it was and it works fine. there is a picture off how slack it was, I have the chain guard missing. I have circled the part i need! Can you tell me what this is called and where i can get the part from? Do you think that the chain was alright? I think it's partly todo with that chain guard thats missing, Will i damage the bike without one till i buy a new one? How tigh…
