Help please!!! Getting some milky oil finding it's way to the air box and leaving via the breather pipe. Thought it was previously down to oil level too high, but this was recently changed and level is correct. Engine does sound a little rough, especially when cold. Carbs appear ok. Could it be something to do with gasket or pistons? Also using bit too much fuel. Any advice welcome!

This bike's been great. 8400 miles, started immediately every time, 70 to 80 miles per gallon. The other day I'm riding home from work at 45 miles per hour and the engine just quit. No loud noises or anything. It just quit. I could see plenty of Gas in the tank but when I crank it using the electric starter it sounds like it turning way to fast. It's never sounded that way before. Kind of like there wasn't any compression. I pulled the plug and can feel some "air" coming from the plug hole. I can see spark in the plug gap when cranking but the cranking is too fast and it just doesn't even sound like it wants to start. Any one else have this problem? I'm afraid …

My recently purchased YZF750R (2000 'W') has an oil leak which I would appreciate some advice on before I take it into my local dealer. The leak appears to come from around the TOP of the engine. It trickles down from the top of the clutch cover, near the overflow pipes. I have removed the tank, and noticed that the bottom of the tank was discoloured from sitting in the engine oil which had collected on top of the rubber 'mat' which protects the electrical cables from the heat of the engine. There is a rubber pipe that goes into the top of the clutch cover, a bit further back from the oil filler cap, but this seems to be sealing fine so I'm not sure where the oil is …

Hi there, I have a Yamaha XVS125, and the other day I was riding to work, the power kept cutting out. I assumed it was the battery, but there was a funny burning smell, a bit like coolant from a car radiator? Anyway, after making it to work, I decided to put the battery on charge just in case it was something simple - I hadn't used the bike for several months. Put the battery back in, got 8.5 miles into my 10 mile trek home when all the power just died to the bike. It hadn't been intermittant like on my way to work, it just died while I was doing 60mph in the dark! The smell was back and was really bad, even to the point I was feeling sick, although this could have bee…

Hi All, New to forum so be kind, just was out with a mate of mine cruising the busy streets of London Village at the weekend and the noise from his can really rocked. He said he had removed the baffles from and that was giving the great sound. I only have the standaaard set up on my FZ6 2004, but wondered if i am still able to remove the baffle, or if i have one to remove...would be cool to know if this is possible and how to do it, so my bike too makes as much noise as his... Please let me know how to do this and if there are any benefits. Thanks

Hi everything was fine with my old Diversion 600 until I decided to change the oil, the oil filter and the air filter myself. Now, when I try to start the engine, it doesn't ignite, as if the combustion could never spark on. Thanks for your help, Stephane.

Ok guys I am new here so hello.Just a little info.I was given a 1998 yzf 600r from the original owner after it was stolen. It sat for a year and I brought it home. I hooked it on a charger and it fired up pretty quick. That was a month ago.Now it sits on stands with the fairings and wheels off due to getting plastics painted soon. Ok I got a new ignition switch after the original had been drilled out. Hooked everything back up and it would only turn over. The fuel pump would not kick on. There was no voltage getting to the fuel pump. Some guys said it may be the Starting circuit cutoff relay. Ordered a used one and now the fuel pump still won't kick on. Could it be the star…

Hi guys n gals. Just bought a 2000 R6 a couple of weeks ago, and rode it 150 miles home and every thing was alright with it so i was chuffed. I then took it out for a blast this weekend and the oil light came on and an oil can symbol started flashing on the electronic dash. I checked the dip stick and it seemed to read fine but thought i should maybe just top it up anyway just in case. So i went and bought some fresh oil and started to fill it up. In my noviceness and stupidity i just kept filling it up (took about 2 litres) then i thought that should be enough so stopped. The oil light did not go out and the oil can symbol didnt stop flashing so i took it for a run to s…

Hi all. Anybody know how wide a rim to use in 17 inch to fit a tt600 (and max tyre width) to use. Need to be able to run the originals for dirt riding. Am using original hubs so the change from one to the other is as easy as possible. cheers.

Hi all. Just Bought my first 4stroke dirt bike and am just wondering what the procedure is for doing an oil change with the dry sump system. I have changed the filter and filled up the oil can, do i need to start the bike so the pump will fill the filter and then check oil level. I noticed there is what looks like a bleed screw on the filter cover. Also can these bikes be easily converted to a 12volt electric system from 6 as the bike will do alot of city night riding. Cheers

Hi everyone, Just registered so here comes some newbie questions, I recently bought a tzr 125 4dl (approx 1991, not registered yet) It came without clutch cable, so i fitted one (uk tzr cable) but i can't seem to adjust it to work, bike just wants to set off when you drop it into to gear, do i have to drain oil before opening clutch case ? will a standard uk set of clutch plates fit. Also revs don't seem to drop right, its revs up fine altho it vibrates a lot on the handle bars (is that normal) when you let the revs drop it seem lazy ? I reckon i'll have to stip carb and maybe have a deaper look at the engine does anyone know if a uk gasket set will do, o…

I know this may be obverse……do you attach the old shim from the old ‘oem’ pads on top of the special shim fitted to the new pads. I only ask as the old shim fits quite nicely over the new one. Generally if wrong either force or a loose fit is the normal result, but its fits nice. Anyone shed any light?
