Hi. I have recently bought a YZ250 2000. The bike was running before it was put into a garage for 3 months, but no longer sparks! There is a very low voltage coming to the cdi unit (approx 0.6v sometimes.... i think) from the magneto, but nothing coming to the plug. I have put another 2nd hand coil and cdi unit but still no joy. I am about to kick it and cry Can anyone offer any advice? I have had the flywheel cover off and cleaned it up but now have run out of things to try...... HELP! Thanks, Paul

Hi I have 1999 YP 125 scoot, which has a charging problem. If I charge the battery via mains charger then install on bike the electrics will all work and bike starts and runs fine. The battery will over the course of 2-3 days use run flat, quicker if I have the headlights on for any amount of time (makes night time rides interesting!) I was going to replace the alternator, however, I have now seen that there is also a rectifier which could be the problem. Are there any obvious signs to look for that would point to which part may be at fault? A friend of mine put the battery on a volt meter and it shows that there is a very small trickle charge coming through wh…

I have been having an issue with my 1987 FZ700. The bike accelerates well until it hits about 6000 rpm then it kinda boggs down and gets very loud and deep sounding until it hits around 8000rpm then it opens back up and revs the rest of the way out. Any suggestions on what may be the cause would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just picked up an LB50 Chappy. It runs well, but the shifting between first and second gear is VERY sluggish. I've never even ridden a Chappy before this one, so I don't know how firmly it is supposed to shift. It starts out fine, and after it gets to about 10 or 12 MPH it kind of just slides into second gear. It's not a solid shift at all and you wouldn't even notice the shift except for the change in engine RPM's and sound. Is this normal for these bikes? It works okay, but is just very sloppy when it shifts. I read on one website that if the clutch or clutch springs are worn it will not go back into first gear when you stop, but my bike doesn't have that problem.…

Recently, my 2002 YZF600R has been hesitating off idle. Once I accelerate, the hesitation goes away. I was told this could be from bad/old fuel. I added some fuel additive to the tank and burned through the remainder. With fresh gas, it still occurred. I changed my fuel filter, cleaned the air filter and drained the carb float chambers. Still has the hesitation. Any suggestions?

Hi There, I just bought a brand new YBR 125 from a dealer and i have a weird question, whilst siting on it i felt the the gear leaver is a bit too close to the foot rest. Making it a bit uncomfortable changing the position of the foot. I had to really squeeze in my foot to fit between the foot rest and the leaver. My question is, is there a was to make the gap bigger? and if not is there any way that i can buy an Xt 125 Gear leaver and fit it on the YBR- i had a look and it looks like it have the same fitting ? Thanks

Hi everyone, I own a 1989 venture royal, Problem is when cold the clutch works well until about 7-10 miles into a ride then the clutch doesn't work. I replaced the fluid and the slave cylinder thinking leak by when it got hot but to no avail. One mechanic is leaning to replacing the clutch plates but it don't seem right. Has anyone had this problem or can anyone offer up some advice? Thank you

I'm trying to remove the rear shock to replace it with a lowering shock. Common wisdom seems to be that you just unbolt it top & bottom & it comes out. Done that. I just can't disengage the bottom end. It 'appears' there is a collar which runs between the bosses, which I'm guessing should slide through the bottom eye. I can't turn or move in any direction the exposed end of the collar. There isn't room on the chain side to punch it back through the bosses. I'm stuck! Anybody got any ideas

I have aquired a 1981 xs400 Special II that needs a little work, and I'm almost done, however the headlight and turn signals aren't working. I've replaced what I thought to the obvious (Light, switch and replaced the fuse box). The guy who sold it to me thought is was the switch, no such luck. The only light that works is the Brake light. I'm stuck!

Hi All, Just over a month in to Radian YX600 ownership; serviced it a week or so ago and since then it seems to be using oil - not sure if it was before as I hadn't had it long enough - this is also my first bike for 16 years so I'm re-learning a lot of things. It's using about 500ml of oil (just under an imperial pint = 20 Fl oz) per 100 miles. I'm using semi-synthetic 10/40 motorcycle oil - stuff I got from http://www.wemoto.com - full URL for the oil is http://shop.wemoto.com/pictures.dyn?u=2147944qqq5828349 Its main use is commuting - I do about 40 miles a day, down dual carriageway at approx 70 mph (plus or minus.....). Fuel consumption is between 53-60 mpg …
