  1. Hello all, I have recently purchased a 1987 TZR 250 that has just been put back together as a on road bike from being tracked. After each run out on it one of the spark plugs goes down. I have reduced the in tack mix to 110mm of comp2 oil per galon of petrol, as the bike running too rich would be the first obvious diagnosis. However this does not seem to have made any difference. Still eating those plugs ! A couple of people have told me that the coils may need replacing, and if i am to replace them i should replace them with Dyna coils to also act as a performance up grade. Apparently i need to give the supplier the ohms rating in order for them to be matched up. …

    right, now i found out that i am supposed to have 1 radiator, i have 2 hoses coming out om my cylinder head that are both leaking water, one of them pours out when i fill my radiator up so i cant run it because it is empty and the other comes out when the bike is started. where are these hoses supposed to go or do they connect to each other?     Just bought a spare rear wheel off Ebay, it's got a pretty decent Avon tyre on it, however it is a 170/60/17 as opposed to a standard 160/60/17. Would it reduce the handling? Interested to know if anyone else has fitted this size tyre to their cat.....

    hi all this is my first post here anyway i have a major problem i am rebuilding a 125dtr that has been through the wars anyway i bought a new engine for it and didnt get a cdi unit or loom. The engine is a 3bn O3 plate from what i can tell and i cant tell what cdi unit i need as it is an old frame so cant use vin number what do i do? will any 125dtr cdi unit work? also i have no wiring loom i was planning on doing it myself but the wiring diagrams in the manual dont show how to wire pick up on magneto in. The bike will be for field at mo so just needs to go dosnt need lights etc any help please project cant go anywhere and i have spent so long getting this fa…

    I blagged a replacement CDI but it wouldnt start (wrong year aparently) stuck the old one back in runs OK but still holding back at 4000 could it be the Throttle Position gizmo on the carbs changing the timimg as the carbs open? Im going now to beat it with a big stick CLEESE STYLE and reread the Haynes to see if that sheds any light.

    alright people ? just joined hope you can help me out with a wee problem i have? ive got a 2004 wr250f. i was out on the bike today doing some offroading . then went back to the normal roads. everything was fine . but after 20mins on the road the speedo just died. everything else is working lights etc, just don`t know how fast im going. can anyone shed some light on this for me. thanks in advance , steve ps- here`s a wee picture of ma bike

    Hi all, I hope someone can shed some light on my SR125 getting less and less powerful as time goes on. It's a 1992 model with 18k miles on the clock, I've had it about 2 years and at first it used to bowl along at 60, 65mph quite happily. Then I got problems starting it, if it started it was OK, but often it wouldn't start. So I got a 2nd hand carb of ebay and put that in, sorted out the starting problems. Starts on the button, first time every time. But, it's not as quick as it used to be, and it's getting worse, up to the point where now it will just about hold 45mph in 4th gear, and if I put her up into 5th it won't pick up any more speed at all.     Hi all, my '96 TCat that i've had for about a month is refusing to start, it was playing up toward the end of a ride the other week (cutting out at low revs, had to be bump started) and was found to have a duff battery. New battery in, still won't fire, i've checked spark plugs 1 and 4 and don't seem to be getting a spark, got some on order just for the hell of it, but what else could it be? all the fuses are good. I removed a datatool S3 alarm during my problem hunting (did nothing but piss me off) and am pretty sure i did it right, cut the wires to positive, negative and ground, then cut and reconnected the red/white and blue/white wires and removed a badly sol…

    I've been searching for Fork seals for my XT125X as one of the seals is is leaking oil pretty badly now. I've been searching online for replacements but I can only find ones for the 1980's model. Any recommendations on the right seal and fork oil - its a hydrolic fork with 36mm stems. Thanks

    I have a 1980 model DT175 enduro. It has been hard to start? I have fitted a new plug etc but It's still hard to start. I can bump start it OK and once started seems to run OK.It seems to start OK when warm/hot but is difficult when cold. I have checked that the plug is sparking by removing it, earthing it out on the motor and kicking it over,it sparks but I'm not sure if it's what you would call a strong spark? I'm wondering if about the CDI, coils, black box etc are not what they should be?? Any help would be apprecciated. Thanks Mark

    I have a 96 XJ 600 Diversion which recently had the clutch replaced. When the garage replaced the clutch they told me that there is a design fault with these clutches and drilled some holes to allow the oil to circulate better. Ever since the clutch replacement there is a sort of knocking/rattling coming from the engine. The noise is reduced when the clutch lever is pulled in. I have also noticed that at about 3250 rpm, the whole bike vibrates and causes the fairing to rattle substantially. I have also noticed some minor clutch slip when setting off from stationary with a decent amount of power applied. Also gear changing does not seem quite smooth anymore. C…

    Hi Folks looking for some help please. A friend races an R6 and at the weekend it lost power above 13000 revs when hot. We stripped the carbs but all was fine we did find that the plug in number 2 had burnt out but changing the plugs did not cure the problem. Any ideas as to what could be the problem would be helpfull.
