Hi fellow Yamaha owners, I a muppet who let his oil run dry and now needs a new engine coz of it. Can anyone help?

Just after recomendations for paint for a tank. Going to paint it black and was looking at PJ1 frame paint high gloss as it sounds like its harder then most paints you can apply yourself and should not need laquer, anybody used it. Tried halfords petrol resistant laquer but every now and then it puts out a good size lump that looks like evostick and ruins it, used normal laquer and even after leaving for a few weeks to cure properly petrol just burns through it. So any recomendation or would it be worth the extra money to go to a spray shop for 2 pack. thanks Dave C

Well, I had a few scratches on my yamaha cw 50 scooter, so i phoned a yamaha dealer near me to find the paint code, they couldnt help me so i phoned the proper yamaha place, they refused to give me the paint code. So i got the name of the paint, its called 'Dull orange cocktail 1'. But no matter where i look or where i go i cant find a place that sells this paint. So if anyone knows the paint code or where i could buy the paint i'd be seriously gratefull.

Hi, I have a FZ6 (08) when working away during the week and a XJ600N at home (this the wife knows about). Anyway the XJ has a downshift issue. When slowing down I have to stamp on the gear shift to get into gear. Does anyone have any pointers as to hat could be causing this as it takes all the enjoyment out riding. Cheers, Neil

Hi I have been trying to find a part for my RD400F Rear Brake Master Cylinder, Seal Kit. 1A1200005000 CYLINDER KIT. This has been going on for three months and I have got no where. I have tried all of the local dealers, specialist shops and the internet in general, still nothing. Can anyone out there help please? All polite suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

Hi all, spent the weekend trying to sort out the rust in the xj600 fuel tank, and the chosen product seems to have worked really well. I looked on the net at quite a few products and settled on an American 3 stage application called POR and followed the instructions to the letter being as i am a duffer first time round at most things...!!! And Lo, although fiddly and time consuming, (no shortcuts) it seems to have taken really well, so I am well pleased, all the inside as far as i can see, seems to be coated in a new grey finish and looks well smart.... Hi there guys,do any of you know weather you can just pull the oil seal out from behind the gearshift lever and put one back without having to split the engine on an xj600 ? Thanks

Can any one shed some light? I have replaced my standard indicators with some LED ones and also replaced the relay unit so they don't flash to fast. My problem is that at high engine speed and with the indicators on, the fuse keeps blowing. Has any one experienced the same problem and have any info. Cheers

Hey guys, The sr250.com website is no more so it seems like any chance of finding some useful documented information on this bike is gone. I can't seem to find any information on the headlights of these bikes. Are they sealed beams? What kind of bulbs do they use? Is it at all possible to use other bulbs that are more readily available at auto parts stores and more powerful? Also, if the high beams don't work on my current bulb, does that mean there's something wrong with the bulb or perhaps the wiring? I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks.

i have an 88 RX-S with a big dent in the fuel tank and have found a nice shiney tank off a 93 RX-S. do both bikes have the same tank and fit easy on my bike?? cheers

Hi all, This is linked to an old post by someone else, but I dunno if I have the same problem. I have a 1998 XJ600N. Appart from a rattle somewhere in the cam area when its iddling, it seems to run fine. After a meduim length length ride (an hour and half), its drips oil, quite fast for a couple minutes, then less and less, and stops after about 5-6 minutes. I just bought the bike, and the guy I bought it off is a mechanic so I assume he knew what he was doing. I read off an old post that It could be something to do with the breather tube being blocked, or because theres too much oil. hi i have a yamaha dt 1984 i connected all the indicators but when i fire up the bike i let it run idle but none of the indicators work only works when i have the bike at 6000rpm then they start to work thanks very much dill

Hi, my brother has a DT125 which my dad has been using recently because my brother is at uni in Cardiff. The bike will start and run great. It will tick over for ever. When you ride the bike around the block it seems fine so you decide to go abit further and as you shut off to slow down the bike cuts out and it always seems to be at the worst possible place for it to happen. You get to the edge of the road and sometimes it will start and other times it takes ages. When you do try to start it it backfires sometimes. It sometimes will cut out waiting at the lights as well even when blipping the throttle. He changed the plug recently and the same happens with a different one…

hi all i have fz-1 and have bought a micron go style exhaust and would like some details what to do IE I HAVE exup on stock exhaust as anyone changed theres yet . what did you do if you changed yours ie just the end can not full system .

HI I HAVE A TZR 125 R AND AM IN NEED OF AN AIR BOX I HAVE FOUND ONE BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS FOR A TZR125R 4FL I KNOW THAT THE 4FL MEANS THE ENGINE NUMBER BUT WILL IT FIT MINE WHICH IS A 4DL? CAN ANY ONE PLZ HELP WITH THIS AS THE BIKE CANT RUN TILL IT IS SORTED MANY, THANKS MARK

hi, just wondering if someone can help me i have a fzr400 genesis, on idle it misfires and when im riding it misfires and jerks badly until i reach top end of the revs, i have changed the plugs and also cleaned the carb which had a blocked main jet although it is running better it still is misfiring and jerking can anyone help?

Hi can anyone advise about fitting slightly higher and wider bars and lowering the seat height of my 03 600 Fazer. Thanks FazerJohn
