Hi There, complete novice Here. Problem developed with my bike on friday. it seems that when I turn the handlebars slightly to the right my revs die right down and the whole bike drops rihgt down in power. this problem only appears when turning the bike right as when pointing the handlebars straight or left there is no problem Thought it could be a trapped wire or cable but all cables seem loose and no movement from them when turning the handlebars. Checked the Spark plugs as well but they also are fine and the problem still persists and is driving me up wall. Any help would be much appreciated thank you

Hi to everyone, has anybody out there had any experience with in fitting hid kits.I currently have a s2 fazer on a 57 plate and as a few have mentioned i find the dipped/daylight lamp not that brill.I didn't want to wire up the other side as a few have done,so i've tried different all singing bulbs but all are pretty much the same.I like the idea of the hid retro fit kits, So question is; are they any good. And as a newbie to all this modern kit do they pose any probs to the bike electrics. Many thanks for any help.

Hi all, Just got a 1990 xj600. Rode it home yesterday, about 100 miles, lots of stops, and it started absolutely fine every time. It sat overnight and started fine this morning. Went for a short ride with a couple of stops and again it started no problem... then when I got home and killed the engine, it wouldn't re-start afterwards. The starter motor turned the engine over, but it was sluggish. There was still over 12v at the battery though. I'd been riding with the lights on and the chap I bought it from said that if you stop and start the bike a lot with lights on it kills the battery, but he didn't know why. I didn't have the light on when the engine wasn't runn…

Hey all, I am going to look at a yamaha maxim 650 tomorrow that I found for a good price ($700). The seller says that the carbs need to be removed and cleaned and that it just needs general service and a tune up. I showed this to my brother-in-law (a very experienced motorcyclist) last night and his advice was to go for it but have the work done at a shop. I was planning on doing it myself but I am rather inexperienced. My question is, how hard is it to work on this engine? If I find a good shop manual will I be able to do the carbs on my own? Also, if I take it to a shop, what kind of money would I be looking at spending on this work? My brother-in-law told me tha…

Right, Story goes like this. I have been doing some work on an sr125 which has been sitting for a year. Finally got it (almost) up and running. Had it out a scoot last week and it was fine. i turned it off, 15mins later i went to go again, Made it about a mile and it started chugging then just died. re-started it. Made it about 50m, same again. This time i had to bump start it. Made it another 50m and it was a goner. so pushed it the mile home (yes it hurt) I put a new battery in it as i thought that was the problem. but no. I have stripped, cleaned and made sure the carb settings are all correct. Whenever i open up the throttle it will give a rev then nothing. Engine st…

Is there a way to open the tachometer and speedometer gauges on an XS? I have a spiderweb on the inside and would like to crack it open to clean out the web. I would also like to paint the metal ring around the glass, without having to tape everything off. It looks like there is a metal ring crimped around the plastic to hold the glass on these gauges, but was wondering if there is an easy way to open it up. Thanks

Boy do I have problems, first my bike died while riding (lost lights and speedometer). I replaced the battery that got me home. Two days later after battery was charged with battery tender the bike died again after about 20 miles. this time the speedometer wrapped (clockwise) all the way around and is now stuck below the stop. I've tested the regulater and stator both seem fine?????????? However the battery is not charging while bike is running. Also I cannot get the speedometer back to 0. When I turn the key on it wants to turn clockwise and hits the stop. HELLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!

Hiya Fellers, Thanks for your help so far, Well i can now start the old girl no probs, Even first kick, I KNOW, What am i doing kicking over a bike at my age? ( Its a man thing), After some considerable "tweaking" She`ll sit nicely at 12/13000revs, Untill shes warm then the revs shoot up to 30,000 and not come down, Same thing when i "throttle up" revs will come back down to 30,000 and no further, The throttle cable is in good shape, carb slides are clean, And spring looks fine, I`ve tried adjusting the throttle stop screw, and the mixture screw, No good, What have i forgot?, Any insight will be a great help. As always thank you, Mark.

This might sound like a daft question.. Is there anyone who makes a Moto-GP style exhaust or similar for the FZ1N? I haven't bought the bike yet as I'm trying to source all the mods. availability before I buy so I can get everything done at once and not spend weekends chasing things up when I should be out adhereing to the speed limit. Cheers

As you know (from all my unitelligent posts) i've been workign away at the bike. Seems to be having what i think is a bit of a problem. When i was in the garage today i was checking to make sure it was selecting gears. With the engine off. I can feel a definite change when i select 1st, 2nd and 3rd, But if i go to take it up again, it feels like nothing, Is that a problem or would it normally do that? Is there anything i'd maybe need to adjust to sort it?

Hi all, I have a flat battery on my 1998 sr125 and I'm having trouble getting the battery out. I can disconnect one side but cannot get to the terminal on the other. Does anyone know if it's possible to charge the battery while still in the bike or is it a case of taking the seat and air box off to get to the battery?? Thanks
