one of my friends hve just de-restricted my r6 for me but it stil feels slow as fuck! the same as before. all he gave me was 4 metal washers. is there anything else restricting the bike? its definately stil restricted as i ride with two other r6ers please any info would be great

Can anyone please shed some light on this! I just got my first R6, it is a 2000 bike with only 7500 miles on it. The bike cuts out when kicking down gears and stopping, the revs drop and it stalls, checked the norm things like plugs and filters, both fine. The pick up on the throttle is spot on and it runs lovely when ticking over in stand, ride it down the street and stop at the end the revs will dip and the bike will cut out. It starts no problem and your ok till the next time you have to slow rite down. Any help would be great.

Hi All Im new to this biking stuff so hope someone can help me with this, i have a Thundercat 600R and after a hard ride out the engine was noisy, when i start the bike cold it puffs exhaust smoke out fro mthe front of the bike someware, is this a common problem or just a knackered gasket someware. Please help Thanks John

Hello, is it a daft question to ask if an XT 350 driveshaft can be changed with the engine in frame, or at least without stripping the whole engine down? How easy is it to replace one? Mine's well chewed at the sprocket end and flapping around, any answers please? Thanks.

I've got a 1985 xt350 That needs a new brake caliper. I'm having a lot of difficulty finding a used one, and am wondering what if any other yamaha models use a brake caliper that is interchangable. Or, if anyone can share a source of cheaper aftermarket calipers. Thanks.

well today i decided to change the oil so had the bike running for ten mins, removed sump plug drained oil replaced with new washer and sump plug, put in new oil then came to start the bike i have never had a problem before always starts,the engine turns over but does not start ,checked for spark all okay, plugs get wet so it looks like fuel getting to them,even checked the side stand switch as i have had problems before with it still no joy, fuses ok checked for any loose conections but still no joy, as i only changed the oil its got me foxed anyone any suggestions for me to try tomorrow as i dont have a garage and have given up for the night ,thanks for any suggestion…

hi, im new to the site but have had a good scout over a lot of the site, id like a little help with my sr125, its my 1st bike, its been off the road for quite some time before i bought it, so it wants a little work before mot, first prob is i cant get the clutch to disengage, 2nd. flasher relays, wheres the best place for them? i finally found the relay (after hours of looking for it! to find that when i removed it and cleaned the terminals repaced it none of the electricals now work! lastly, how stringent are bike mots? i can get cars through mots but dont know enough about bikes! thanks in advance ian

Ok guys my wife got me a set of Heated Grips for crimbo..... I know nothing about wiring on a bike put it this way im ok wiring up a plug thats about it. one thing i do know is that i dont want to go straight to the battery incase i forget to turn them off. I have see that some people have done them in to the lights. ....is this ok? If so is there anybody out here who can explain how to wire them into something else onto the bike and i mean explain as if you are trying to tell an idiot lol hope you guys can help stevo oh im on a FZ6 2004

Hi new to the forum and hope someone can help! The thieves have struck and tried to nick my tdr 125 they have ripped the wires off the ignition and then for some reason have left the bike alone. I have taken the ignition barrel off and taken it apart..... the RED and BROWN wires are still connected but the BLACK, BLACK/WHITE, BLUE and BLUE/RED have been ripped from the solder and I have no idea what order they should be soldered back on in!!!!!! Any help would be great.

I'm trying to compile a list of performance mods i can make to my R6. I know the basic ones i.e PC3, Filter and Exhaust. Are they any other mods you can make that won't jeopardize the engines life span etc. Also what specific brands are best? Cheers.

Firstly, sorry that I double posted this. I didn't realise there was a normal discussion part and a workshop part. So... i've read that the SR125 is meant to have three positions for the choke. Mine only has one and it goes right back in when I let go of it. So i'm guessing that it's meant to stay out by it's self when working properly? So how would I go about changing it? And is it a complicated job? I'm only 17 and this is my first bike so I've got no clue when it comes to the mechanics of it. Also, can you leave the choke out and ride the bike at the same time while it gets hot and then just let it back in later? It''s just that it takes me like 10 mins to get…
