Right where to start..... When starting my bike first thing in the morning it tries to start then as if its ready to fire up .. it then dies. Then it keeps trying and kills the battery..... Put jump leads on it ...keeps trying and eventually gets going, after 5 mins. Run for a few hours and switch off for 25 mins or even an hour no probs in starting. Its just when you leave it overnight it doesnt go, same thing all the time. Have checked spark plugs, filter etc all good even throttle and choke cable. Choke cable on left side at fairing, bit loose but still works. Do I need a new battery or am I missing something.

Ive got the barrel for my dt125 lc 1986 in the engineering shop for a re bore, he wants to charge me 42 quid roughly for a piston kit. On ebay i can get one for 27.50 delivered. He says its probably a cheap "indonesian" part and will probably cause problem. I know its more than likely that he just wants more of my notes in his til, but has anyone bought aftermarket piston kits and had problems with them before? I cant see what the problem could be i mean as long as the dimensions are correct...... here's the ebay listing, any advice or thoughts appreciated http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=250336148177

The fork dust seals on my 98 SR125 are cracked, probably from exposure to UV. I have tried various bike shops and online, but no-one can supply replacement dust seals. Does anyone know of a supplier or of some compatible dust seals? Is there some other solution, like fitting gaitors? Thank you.

I just bought an XS750 that had been having electrical problems. Once I started working on it I found out it had water sitting inside of a custom control box containing the kill switch, dimmer switch, turn signal buttons, and starter button. I've sorted out the lighting problems(RLU got fried, it's bypassed until I get a hold of a replacement) and I've got the electric starter running. The problem now is that there's no spark from the plugs. What components of the ignition system would most likely have been damaged from running the bike with water in that box?

Ok My first Question, I Feel Needs A Little Background So People Dont Call Me A Tard: When I got My Fz600 It seemed Like Someone Probably Raced It Before, Probably back in the late 80's, Judging from the passenger foot pegs looking like the bike got dropped at a high speed and slid on them for a mile or two...lol they are now sharpened little spike-pegs (replacing them soon). Anyway, there is also other mods, the most notable being the tail fairing, which is definitely not stock FZ-600, or FZR600 (which the side Fairings Are). The Front Wheel Is A HONDA, Given That It IS Stamped Into The Rim... Also A Yoshimura Slip On that is apperently no longer made, I looked. This waq…

Hi, Can anyone advise me please? I bought an FZR 400RR EXUP which was imported to the UK in 1999 from Japan. It's a grey, but I think this is only due to the clock being in Km/h. This is my first 'big bike', as I recently passed my test last week. The day I passed I took it out and ran the tank dry (needless to explain why, it was full before I set out It has a two position switch on top of the left side fairing to switch over to a 5 litre reserve. It doesn't work. I called out the RAC because I was in the middle of no where and they brought me some fuel. For obvious reasons I would like to repair it. I'm pretty good with electronic fault findin…

Right put my engine back together all nicely and started it. Sounds great nice amount of compression etc Took it for a ride today and got about 2mile down the road when it sounding like there was a mouse in the engine and the bike cut out, ( didnt seize thank god) walked it home and stripped it down again to find coolant on top of the piston .... shit okay, checks gasket (top one) split which has let the coolant through ... nice. Round two begins and i was looking at the bottom end bearing and noticed a little bit of excessive play so thought hmm wonder if itl be hard to strip? so my next challenge is the big end. Bring it on!

Hi, I just got a 96 xj 900 and was wondering if anybody has fitted a different screen, my screen is standard and ok with just me on (5' 8"), but when two up the wind noise and buffeting is very bad at any speed over about 45mph!!! Ive seen two for sale one was £65 for a flip up screen and the other was £90 for an adjustable one. Which one do I go for? I don't want to spend money for something thats no better than the original!!!

My mate just bought exact same bike same as mine, but the only fault we can find is that the speedo guage goes up and down, not steady?.. looked at the cable all seems fine, checked to see if there where any blockages, all's well! Just when you go, it goes up and down --------- Just noticed, that where the connection is made at front wheel, the part which screws in there is a small rubber washer and which looks like there is a (hard to explain) a sleeve for the cable thingy ??? does that make sense? Cant compare next to mind, coz the missus dropped me off and Im 30 miles from my bike

here's the problem. the rear cylinder is working more than the front at idle off idle the front kicks back in. i know it's a carb issue. things i found. if i turn the rear cylinder throttle stop screw all the way down and turn the front up a little the front kicks in at idle. mostly the pop..pop.pop...pop.pop. not as smooth as the rear. i'm replacing the cracked intake boots this week. which i hope will fix some of this. i also installed a dynojet stage 1 kit. the bike has aftermarket pipes which are mostly open. here's my question. do i need a carb tear down cleaning and sync or just a good sync job? i lost my job on friday and well can't pay someone to work on it. i…
