Hi Had to strip my XV125 due to a bigend failure and need to know what the torque settings are for the head bolts before i can rebuild it, looked for a manual but they all seem to be for the 250 up, not the 125! Thanks Rob

I recently bought a XS400. The first time i rode it oil started pouring out of my alternator housing. Upon further inspection there is a pea sized hole in the crankcase leading to the alternator. Im sure that isnt suppose to be there, but maybe is this a design of yamahas as the hole seems uniform and machined? Any help or comments would be appriciated. thanks

Hey guys! new to the site, so please bare with me... searches didn't help. Bought an xs650 over a year ago to try and learn to work on bikes a little bit. I have this one, a 99' zx7r, and had an 05' harley but sold it. I still have not figured out what is wrong with my 650. The bike had some electrical issues, so had the stator rebuilt, new rectifier, and put on a new wiring harness. Still have an issue with the turn signals not working (but will work if I touch the signal assembly to the battery possitive... weird how I figured that out lol!) and one wire from the ignition gets pretty hot while the bike runs from behind the headlight. So really I want to just…

When i first bought my 1988 FZ-600 there was much wrong with it. Among the many things was a very strange headlight issue that i actually procrastinated with for a year because it definitely seemed like a bad wiring issue. What would happen is that the headlights worked when I first bought the bike, then after getting it running and connecting a few things that were disconnected, the lights simply wouldn't work, very suddenly! i later figured out that the High beams would work, BUT they acted as a kill switch when the bike was running... so it was either no lights or no engine. The fuse was fine, but i replaced it just in case. -the plug was on snug (duh) and everything s…

The gremlins have been attacking my bike! Monday I took it out for a run and all was happy, Wednesday morning 8:30 need to be in Leeds (40min ride) for a training course at 9:30, turn on the ignition, Neutral light comes on, press the starter switch the oil light flashes on and nothing happens? I have all lights working, the battery is holding 12.5V, I have gone through the Haynes Manual and checked the side stand switch, the Clutch switch, the Diode, all the fuses, the starter relay is showing 14.5 ohms(which is within the specified range). The only thing that didn’t seem right from the Haynes manual it the starter relay does not click when I press the ignition…

My yamaha tzr 50 sometimes cuts out when Im just going along fine. The revs just drop until I come to a stop. Also it doesnt let me rev it hard as I cant take it past 10,000 rpm but as soon as I put the choke on it pulls right past 10,000. When it does cut out it is hard to get started. It wont even bump start but if I leave it 5 minutes or so it usually starts fine. After that it cuts out every couple of miles. Can somebody help me with ths problem It is not a sparking problem as I have already changed the coil, lead, plug, and tried a colour tune in and even when it cut out it was still sparking but not igniting. I have also cleaned the carbuerattor and raised…

Hi, I changed my flasher lights recently and flashers wont blink anymore. Most likely due to lower resistance of the new bulbs. I picked up a new relay that fixes this prob. from the sound of my current relay.. id say its under the gas tank and under the metal frame that holds the fork. any ideas how to get there ? I removed the tank already. Do I really need to remove the top motor mounts to get there.. seems like a ridiculous place to put a relay! any thoughts or help.. let me know Cheers, Oliver

Hey, Is it at all logical that by cutting a pinky/white wire coming out of the back of my speedo on my TZR50 that it will de-restrict my digital speedo? It it only reads 50mph at the moment. I've heard this from various sources on the internet but would just like to check with you guys. Cheers in advance.

Ihavenoexperiencew Ihe manual calls for a 600 mile service to the tune of almost 800.00. It includes oil change w/filter, checking fluid levels, and sync carbs. Th e only part I may not be able to do myself is the carb sync. My question is though, if the bike is running fine does it really need to be done?

I'm in the process of stripping a 1986 FZ400. If anyone needs any parts, please PM me. I'd rather offer them on here before they go on evilBay The CDI and forks are already sold. Pending response, so is the loom.
