Hi All, I bought my first bike last night - an excellent condition YBR125ED in red - which I'm very pleased with and sounds & goes much better than I thought it would. However, I have a 'newbie' question, so bear with me: The previous owner had it serviced last week and a new rear (Michelin Sporty) fitted; the front appears to be the stock tyre. I don't doubt the tyre's a good model, but is the mismatch between tyre types likely to cause noticeable handling problems and, perhaps more importantly, how would an insurance company view this non-standard tyre, given that the YBR's manual states that only CHENG SHIN type tyres are approved by Yamaha? Hi all, can any1 help. ????? 1999 R1 I have low down power, all fine, but i have now started losing top end power. I used to be able to sit at about 80mph in top gear and wind it on and the bike wuold lurch forward with the speed, but now seems when i do this there is nothing and it takes time to get the power on. I have also noticed alot more vibration threw the bike. Im running akroprovic can and kn filter, it has been fine but has just now started losing the top end power, any1 got any solutions regards Daz

hi, ive got a dtr 125 03, when i bought it the cdi was not giving a spark, so i wired up a 05 cdi no joy(i was getting a spark when i kicked it but not when i bumped it which i thought was strange. so i bought the same as the original cdi a 3rm-20 which is also full power cdi.im getting a spark when i kick it and i is trying to start. but when i push the bike in gear it doesnt give a spark, just cant get my head round this. im starting to think there is a problem with maybe the coil or rectifier or god forbit the magnito.what do u think would cause this. also does anyone know the minimum wiring required to run a dtr with power valve??? i have no batt on it but dont think …

82 xj750 seca ran for a couple secs then shut off. did the norm check fuel flow , levels, so on. No problems with the carbs I have since pulled them and fully cleaned them, replaced manifold gaskets, same problem, Checked spark 1 and 4 fire great 2 and 3 fire only as you let go of the starter button if at all. Checked coils, wires, and caps with ohm, no issues. I then checked the pickups both tested the same as normal. so i guess my question is the only way to check the operation of the ignitor to swap it out with a known good one, Could i swap it out for the one my 82 seca 400 without frying that one, Could there be something else I'm overlooking

The Petrol tank im gonna be putting on my latest project is in poor condition. Im not so bothered about the outside but the inside is awful, rust etc. Whats the best way to clean it out? i presume you can fill it with a solution and let it soak away at it? Any ideas? Cheers andy

Just purchased an 05 XTZ 125 for cheap and was wondering about the noise it's making in the top end. Only while driving it, it starts to make some rattling type sound in the higher rev range. Any ideas? Starts fine and runs fun but just noisy top end it seems. Also wondering if anyone knows what bikes us the same 4 stroke engine? It's a pain in the ass to find parts for this thing, at least on a english website. Wouldn't mind possibly bumping the power up either with new piston or something. Ive read that the XTZ 125 possibly shares the same engine as the TTR's, don't suppose anyone could confirm this?

Does any body know the difference between the 93 94 ecu and the 97 ecu. i noticed the larger connector has 2 less pins and the smaller connector has 1 less pin on the 93 94. Can it be bypassed or hardwired to work? and what do the other pins connect. little help little help anybody. I hooked up a V&H powerpak and it wouldn't fire. Sounds as there is no ignition and it wouldn't power the fuel pump. help please!

I am going to see a 900 diversion 1998 model with the intenton of buying. However the fellow selling it says that it starts and runs only to about the end of the street. He thinks it may be a carburettor problem. Does anyone out there have any suggestions what may be the cause? And does it sound expensive or difficult to fix? He is selling at a good price because he doesn't know how to fix it. Thanks. jebby7

anybody out there have experience with the v&h powerpak? What would be good combination and what is the definition of power range 1 2 3 4 & rev-limit 1 2 3 4 mean. I have a 97 yzf750r with 1994 yzf750sp motor with only 6500 original miles on it factorypro race jet kit& new emultion tubes on 38mm mikunis with K&N filter, Leo Vinci full exhaust and 520 accelerator 1 down front 2 up in the rear looking to clear up range between 3000-4500rpm range any ideas thx 4 your time guyz

i want some more power but for free or as little cost as posible i know the newer modle MT-03 have 48bhp and myn has 45bhp any one know how they got that bit more power ?? it will be geting a dyno tune soon so that will obv bring up the bhp but was wondering if there was any thing else i could do i might drop a K&N in as well befor the dyno run

Hi guys, I'm FZ7 and I own an 85 Yamaha FZ750N. I've been working on this thing for years on and off, but never really completed it. Anyway, without further adeu, my problem is that this bike cranks the engine occasionally. One day I thought I fixed the problem, and the next day it doesn't work and now it still doesn't. HI all. Recently bought a yzf 600 thundercat then joined this site. I am hoping someone on here can give me some advice. Anyway here goes, Purchased bike, went out riding and sounded fine (low speed) then when i picked up speed there was this horrible sound that seemed to come from engine area, not there on idle or slowing down, but when accelerating up through the gears you can really hear this noise if you rev the engine when parked it aint there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thaks.
