Right, was fiddling around with the ybr this morning (against what everyone says, trying to make it faster/louder/etc.. ), and found a pipe running fron the exhaust into the airbox.. opened it all up, and (to put it into words) theres a pipe coming out of the airbox, going thru a one-way-valve/non-return-valve (in plumbing terms), and to the exhaust.. the valve only allows air OUT of the box.. Heres a somewhat technical quick diagram, drawn up in ms paint... [arrow is direction of allowed air flow in valve, everything labelled, and roughly in position as is on bike, and red line is the rubber pipe] btw, the pipe connector on the airbox is on the 'clean'…

I have a rather annoying problem with my Yamaha FZR 1000 EXUP it stalls at 4000rpm and i have gone through ta exhaust valve and the servomotor and ruled them both out. Maybee its the cid ignition but before i go out to buy a new one i would like to hear from anyone who has had similar problem and on how they fixed it. Someone told me it also could be the ignition coil. Hope to hear from someone qualified biggrin.gif Ron

Hi guys My clutch lever is pretty much right out when on the biting point. What is the best way to adjust it, is it simply adjusting the lever or does the clutch need looking at too? Cheers Pete

Hi guys Ive just bought a sr125 1991, on a bit of a whim. I will use it to commute, park up and not worry about it. But also want to get the other half on a bike. As its a 1991 it has drum brakes and generally a bit dated....so is it possible to tinker a little and make it stop and go a bit better? Cheers Pete

I have charged up the existing battery and even tryed a brand new one now but no luck. There must be a loose connection somewhere. Any suggestions? Please help.

Went out on my bandit tonight and it handled like a bag of crap the front end felt as if it was going to tip either way so i felt like it was going to fall the bike handled great round the bends as soon as i straightened her up it wobbled like crap. As far as im aware the back end has been lowered and the front end has been dropped by 10mm to compensate. Any thoughts on why this feels so unstable my 500e was lowered and it handled great Now i know this isnt a yammi but i think the same would happen on any bike so if any of you know what the best way to cure this is PLEASE help as the sun is out tomoz and i want to go and play

Hi folks, its my first yamaha and i see potential.... ive bought a yzf 750 . It seems when i take her out first thing she runs sweet but then she backfires and doesnt give as much power as she could ,somthimes it feels like the power is kind of cutting back in. Anyway i removed the airbox and noticed that there was black from the backfire going into the airbox. i then removed the plug from that cylinder and it looked fine. i did take the bowl of the base of one of the carbs not the forth one because it was too difficult but there was what llked like rust deposits in there. i did run it low on fuel and it had been lying up for a while. sSoO............i plan to buy a long…

If anyone has this bike, in any state i would greatly appreciate it if they were able to photograph the rear mudguard and the frame mountings or hoever it connects to the bike. Ive got 2 different guards, 1 connecting piece and im beggining to think the frame ove got is a different year, but i dont think the frame has changed shape at all through the mk 1 2 3 .....yet i still cant work out how it goes on, might make more sense when the rest of the bike is together but still.........Is there a smaller connecting piece that clips onto the framer? Its driving me up the wall!

  13. Hi. I have some sort of rattle during engine braking, when I'm changing down the gears to approach a junction. I thought it might be the chain, but the chain is at the correct tension, as indicated by the 'window' in the chain guard. Bike has 8k miles only. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

I bought a 1980 XS400 (or 400XS) a year ago...while on the road my clutch cable snapped, it was then that I noticed that the casing is held in by some Allen Head bolts. It appears that there should be 6 or so, I only had 2 left. I have looked everywhere I can think of and can not find any info on these missing bolts. I am not an expert, but it seems that the casing being bolted on properly has something to do with the clutch catching. Any help? Aaron

Does anyone know what sort of mark identifies TDC on a 98 SR125, please? I have removed the two round covers from the left side of the crankcase and I can rotate the rotor. There's no 'T' obvious on the rim of the rotor, as described in the Haynes manual, only something more like 'H-'. I need to find TDC to check the valve clearances. Any advice welcome.

I have a road star that's been acting up on me and i wanted to get someone's professional opinion on what's up. first of all it's a 2005 yamaha road star. the bike starts up fine, no choke needed, and i let the bike warm up for a few minutes. the temp is about 60 degrees in the morning in Chicago right now. then as i'm riding everything seems to be good until i approach a stop and have to pull the clutch in. Once i pull that clutch in the bike dies out on me. while coasting i can pop the clutch and the bike will fire up again. i have to open up the throttle a few times and then the bike will stay on. when the bike is going everything seems fine, it's just when i c…
