Hi guys was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on whether or not one of those nice chromed front fenders off of an xs250 , rd250 etc would fit a 125 dragstar they seem to have the same 4 bolt hole fittings was just wondering if anyone had one they could measure up ,the dragstar fender is 12 cm across the gap and the bolt holes are 5cm apart on the mounting plate. P.S Ive fitted some apehangers , and now throttle cable/clutch cable are pretty much at their limits anyone know of any longer cables maybe off of a xv 535 or maybe xvs650 would something like that fit ? cheers for any advice

    Im still looking for help to figure out the certs on yam dt400e 19**, the plate on frame and crank case match, 1M2-111791 mfd 12/77 the date it was bought was 4/20/79 and i have first issue title and on it ses that it is a 79, if im told correctly new modles come out sept,so someone tell me if im not right "it should be a 1978"?

    I just bought a dt 400 77/78 unsure if the oil pump worked so i took some of my kx"s premix and gaver a drink,well it run but no power and smoked like a frate train.so wile it was running, i pulled the right hand cover of from where the pump is and it was pulsing in and out, so i pushed in on it gently.and there was a definite pressure and a resistance (pulsing) and there was oil in the tank but probly 3 oz, how can i tell if the oil is actually getting ware it needs to be? oh and it sounds like there is a marble in the top end is that normal for it to be so noisey?

    Hi all, I've got a Yamaha DT 50 MX 1986 PLate. I recently stripped it down for a respray, when I put it back together I can't seem to get the clutch to engange, it just stalls when put in gear. Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

  6. Hi Guys! History of bike.. Ok basically, I bought my aerox a few months back with a de-restriction and it hit around 45 mph, i then decided to put a new £120 sports exaust on it and changed the rollers, for about a month it ran smoothly,with the exaust the bike could now hit 60-65 mph. Problem now.. Basically it accelerates to 20mph, slowly hits around 35-40mph and after about 10 mins (only if the wind is behind me or downhill) i manage to hit 42mph, if it manages to hit this it will go straight around to 60-65mph if not it will run at around 40ish until i need to stop, I have taken it to a garage and he has fiddled with the petrol to oil ratio and cleaned the carb…

    Hi, I've a 1990 XJ 600 (pre diversion) with a LHS coil that keeps overheating (however they both look non Yamaha). Trying to get replacements on the internet has shown 3 different shaped coils? The Haynes gives no indication of part number either. What should I be looking for as the 1990-91 is also a different spec from earlier models or can I use alternatives if they have the same ratings as given in the Haynes?

    Hardly a techie queastion, but I can't remove the centre stand on an old SR250 I bought recently. It should be simple, but perhaps I am missing something ? I have removed the pin holding the brake pedal. I excpected to then be able to knock or push the pin holding the stand out. Even with some heafty wallops it will not budge is there something else that I cant se for the dirt & rust preventing it from coming out? Presently I will take an angle grinder to it and just buy another stand & pin for the rebuild.

  10. hey guys i just bought a 1988 yamaha DT 50 LC and i was wondering if you guys know how to get her to go a lil faster ? i would love to slap on a bigbore kit but i cant seem to find any would a stock cylinder from a DT80LC fit ? or anything else you can suggest (short of trading her in for a 250)

    I need the sizing for the front sprocket on my xv 125 virago - - -I cant measure mine as it fell off whilst I was riding. Getting replacements is proving very hard. CAn you suggest where I can get one?

    hi everyone! i have managed to pick up a 2nd hand tacho/ rev counter from a bike wich uses the same size counter but the face and arm are slightly different from the one that is on my bike, does anyone know if it is possible to take apart the clocks so that i can take the working gear out the new one and put into the old one which is broken thanks James

    hi guys.new to the website and forums etc i have the yamaha yzf r125 on an 08 plate and im just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem with the mirrors as im having at the moment the mirrors are fine up to a certain speed,say 40mph but then they start to fold into the front screen.its been back to the dealers twice already and ive had the bike just over a year.it seems to do the trick for about a month and then they go back to folding in.obviously its just a matter of ttightening the bolt up but i was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as this may be a common fault? thanks.

    Hi All My question, I need a set of piston rings 3rd over for my dt250mx 1980. Part number starts 2N6 does this just relate to the model i.e if the other numbers match will they be same part? Have seen part 1M1 1161030 on ebay but not 2N6 1161030 so I am thinking that the important stuff is the numbers after the 1st 3 digits. Any help very helpful, or does any one have a set collecting dust?

    hey there, Ive just finished rebuilding my rxs100 and it does not seen to rev high enough. It does not have a rev counter on it but there is obviously a problem. When i rebuilt the engine I replaced all engine bearings and seals, all the rest seemed in good condition. I am wondering if reboring the the cilinder head and replacing the piston, rings and pin would solve the problem. I have already changed the carb and fettled with it. It just does not seem to have any power because im not hitting the power band as it is not revving high enough. Any help please?
