    i have and 82 vision.. its got a few kinks i need to work out on this bike.. i left my bike at home and moved to cleveland for school. i let my dad ride and hes one of those nice and easy riders.. nothing fancy.. he said the starter motor probably went out.. no sound, no noise.. when he hit the button... i recently bought full battery and new solenoid cuz it needed it.. is there anything else i should check before i go and try to find parts for this starter motor? or any advice for me to check out. i know engines and stuff pretty well but im used to cars.. i like working on my bike tho.. its a nice ride.. thanks

    Hi All hope someone can help. My sons DT125R is getting petrol in the crank. I have sripped the top end and found petrol in the crank. The piston, rings and bore are all ok. not to much play in small or big end bearings. I did a de coke and put it back together, it started ok and run for a while, then conked out. took the spark plug out and it was wet with petrol. cleaned the plug and it started again. but conked out after a little while, same problem. any good advice would be great. cheers brian.

    Hi, Can anyone give some advice as to how to change the pads on the front brakes of my YBR125? Having taken a quick look it seems that there are three bolts that need to be undone to remove the unit. Is this correct? Thanks

    I have a 1982 Maxim 550 and I am working on replacing the clutch, I got the friction discs and some stiffer springs. I took the old setup out, soaked the friction discs and went through and replaced them one by one. I put the center piece back in and the cover back over the friction discs, I put the springs and bolts back in and put the outer clutch cover back on. My problem is when I pull the clutch lever to disengage the clutch it will not move, almost as if it is stuck. I don't know why it is doing this or what might be causing it, I've taken it back apart and have still come up with nothing, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dale

    Hey all, seeking the usual expert opinions. As you may have noticed in my other thread, had another prob with latest FZR purchase. Took it out for a run few days ago & hit problems. Turns out the thread holding plug on cylinder 2 stripped leading to the obvious problems! I've sorted local company to sort the head out, just need to strip it out first. Kinda tempted to do it myself but bit concerned about the timing / timing chain setup etc due to my inexperience with this area. Am i better to be sensible (for a change!) & pay someone who knows what they're at to strip/rebuild it, or is it easy enough to do myself?

    I have just bought a sr125 as a commuter too and from work. However on the day ov purchase i went out for a little ride, to check everything is as it should be. Apart from a false neutral everything appeared to be running smoothly, untill i got on to my street that is. My street is on a hill, when riding down (approaching a centered speed hump) doing about 30 in 3rd, i pulled in the clutch and proceeded to brake, i then knocked it down into 1st and waited for a car to pass, as i let the clutch out again, there was no drive whatsoever?? and a faint burning smell. Now she wont start, its probabley the clutch but as i am a novice am not to sure?? Any he…

  12. afternoon all, right ive finally got my power valve working a bit better when i turn the key the powervalve sets up and is inline with the dot/hole on the head ok and when the bike it running it move with the revs ok but when the revs pick up a bit and the power valve goes about a centimeter clockwise a rattling/knocking noise appears :\ is this normal? im guessing the powervalve cant hit the piston because i wondered if that was the noise? also i cant seam to get the bike to run right it will start fine on the choke and idle at about 2k and when warmed up ill take her off the choke and the revs pick up to about 2.5k for a few seconds and then the revs will st…

    Hi again another issue have I bought trouble ? I feel a bit thick here but havent had a bike for many years & on a sr 125 that I have just got when checking chain & sprockets found that when on the stand with engine turned off & in any gear I can rock the back wheel about 2 inches back & fourth , the sprocket is tight to the splines so its internal play is this acceptable or will it need sorting ? & if so what work does this involve to put right cos no way coul'd I strip a full unit or is there an easy way ? knowing my luck prob not ! I would grateful of any input cheers root

    Hi im hoping someone can put me in the picture about a used SR 125 that I have just bought? Well the thing is its a few years 23 since I owned a bike & that was a two stroke so I am a bit rusty but the bike isn't & has only done 11 thou & starts/runs well cruising at 60 but ive got it in my head that its a bit noisy in the bottom end RATATATAT & when I use a long screwdriver to listen with on the top of crankcase it sounds like knocking to me & im a bit isolated where i live so have nothing similar to compare it with so im hoping 1 of you guys could help cheers Root

  16. I had the petrol tank off my YZF r 125 today to inspect the air box. Its a shame i cant rotate the air inlet holes 180 degrees to face the front of the bike. However also while i was pottering about i found one pipe coming from the carburettor looking thing just infront of the air box on the pipe at the end which was at the front of the bike was a plug. i simply pulled it out and put back together and rode it and the sound difference is amazing you can only hear it when your riding and not in neautral sounds more throaty. and on the over side was like a posh looking plug has anyone ever took this off and replaced with a filter or a pipe??

    HI THERE IM NEW TO THIS SITE, JUST WONDERING IF ANY ONE CAN HELP. just wondering if any one has come across a problem with a starter motor on a 2003 wr450f, i have just fitted new brushes, bearing, seal and o rings, re fitted starter motor to bike and it seems that its turning in the opposite direction thus not cranking the engine!! i have removed the cover thats on the left side crank case that covers the starter motor gears etc and can see that its defo turning the wrong way, the brushes are defo fitted the correct way, as 1 is soldered in place and 1 is screwed. also does the the starter motor have an earth wire bolted to it via mounting bolt or should this be on th…

    Hi All I have a 1980 dt250mx, took the head of to decoke broke a piston ring. So now have replacements (nos) 1 ring is L shaped now my dumb question is does it go in the top or bottom ring and which way up? As the L or upside down. No laughing please, just sensible answers! thanks sandy

    Looking for info on replace gears for RZ350 Power valve motor. There is one gear inside that is a weak link that always strips in these motors. Looking for a after market gear. On another note I was talking to a machinist he was telling me that there's a process some high performance motor builders use, is kriogenics. That by frezzing components at what ever temp it's done at that the components become stronger buy realiening the molecules he mentioned a company called "300 Below" anyone hear of this process? Anyway I'm tired of buying these motors on ebay if there was a replacement gear that would be great. Or is there another alternative?
