Hi new to the site .Recently bought a my2000 TDM 850 twin ,great big bike, it needs a new chain and sprockets .i have found it has an exceptionally long first gear which makes it very lurchy at junctions etc and requires feathering of the clutch constantly on removing the chain/sprockets have found it has 17 tooth (front) and 43 rear sprockets. can anyone tell me what the standard ratio should be? the previous owner has changed the ratio to bring the revs down at cruising speeds as he had a long commute.

I just got my 1985 Yamaha Maxim X from my uncle. It sat in his kitchen, yes kitchen for at least 12 months. After getting my carbs done, I started her and rode her a lil on Sat. nite. It wasn't long before she started to go into the red. Rode back down the street and the fan comes on. Rode for bout 10 more minutes and fan hasn't been back on since. But it still runs hot. Could my thermostat be gone? Is this the true sign of a stuck thermostat or has the 24 year old thermostat called it quits? Since I did hear and see the fan come on, could that be a faulty wire on the fan motor? Somebody help me please. I'm ready to ride my bike but I want her to be riding righ…

Hi All, I need some help. My son has just bought a Yamaha YQ 50 Aerox 2000 model. He has since been told that the engine is a wreck and needs major work. I have found 2 engines on sale but they are different years to my sons 2000 model. One is an 03 the other is an 04. Will either of these engines fit straight into my sons bike? If not does anyone no what years will fit or does anyone have an engine for sale that will fit.

hi everyone i have just joined up as i just got a rd125lc as a project. i have stripped the engine to try and find a strange noise that was coming from it and i have found the gear selector forks are damaged. does anyone know if tzr or dtr ones would fit, and is there anywhere to get a hold of a parts manual book thank you

I have an XVS 1100 Dragstar Custom but want a bigger fender on the front. Can anyone tell me if the front fender on XVS 1100A Dragstar is compatible with the 1100. Thanks

Hi Guys, The center stand snapped on my Divi which meant the bike went over with me on top. The damage to the fairing is not too bad, but whilst thinking about how best to repair, I wondered is anyone knew if there was a kit available so I could do away with the fairing altogether.

Hi I have a 2001 DT230 complete with stupid traction control and rev limiter. I was thinking that maybe a cdi from an early dt200r or wr200 might be a way to get around this. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hello All, I wonder if someone can help. The main (oops found out it the needle jet according to the Haynes manual Ive just found) jet in the carb of my w reg rs100 is knackered.( long one with 2 holes along the sides and hole through the middle.) Anyone know where I can get 1 from? Is the carb used on another machine with the jet settings ??? Any helps much appreciated. Craig

Hi all, I've got a 1999 DT175 (Australian model) that's got 3500km on the odometer. I'm the second owner, and the first to road register the bike. My problem is it won't rev over 5500rpm. I've hear talk about restriction of this model, but cant see any restrictor in the exhaust manifold. Could there be something in the carb side? Electronic restriction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Was there ever a workshop manual written for this bike? I can't find anything online. Cheers, Nick.

Hi all, i'm having a big problem with my 1981 RS100, the problem is as follows. Its blowing fuses for fun. It's happening everytime i shift to neutral the fluse coming off the battery blows. I'm completely stick for what could be causing this. If you need any more information i'll be happy to provide it. Sam

Hi I have a 98 xj600n uk version, there are two pipes not connecting to anything. one coming from the fuel tank and the other from the air filter housing. both on the left side of the bike! there is also a pipe about an inch long coming from the filter housing too! Any help would be much appreciated. Apart from that the bikes running ok. Alot of noise from the exhaust downpipes when reving and not alot of noise out of the rear pipes, is this normal? Also when the clutch is out theres a grinding sound. And when ticking over theres a clicking kind of noise (tappets need setting?).

Hi guys, New to bikes and have an '06 YBR125 for commuting. Since I don't live near any large dealers, does anyone know of an online source of spares and nick nacks? Just looking for oil drain plug washers and can't find them anywhere. I'll also need a chain/sproket set before long.. Thanks in advance Martin

i have a 77-78 dt 400E, ant have ridden the same size bike in a yz & mx can i get the same performance out of my dt? dont they have the same engin as the other 2 for that time period of bike?

Can anyone help? I am looking for a wiring diagram for my bike as I have just bought it but the previous owner somehow had done some homemade handy work with the electrics as they used it for just off road. Hi all, lookin at buying a DT125 but its a field bike atm, was wondering how much it would cost to make it road legal (lights/registration etc.) The bike itself is £400 and i didnt want to go much over £500, is it possible?! Any help?! :D

Hi I am new to this forum. I have just bought my first bike for 36 years. A 1982 RD200. The metal mudgurds are in poor condition. Would the plastic type which are fitted to the RD125 fit the RD200? Regards Ray

New to the forum and I was hoping for some advice. I have just aquired a tw125 2001 model. clean bike but has a few niggles. The tickover is quite erratic, like its sucking in air. Ive cleaned the carb and am going to seal the carb rubber to the engine to see if this cures it. I would like to set the valve clearances hopefully this may improve the idle speed and start up. Can anyone please tell me the valve clearances. there are 2 wires connected to the carb, what are they for. what is the rubber bung in the end of the exhaust for, is it a restrictor and if removed will the bike go better.as it doesnt seem to pull very well and feels quite flat.
