Cheers, Just wondering if anyone can help with the tuning of my RD. The engine was been rebuilt. It seems to work very poorly as it only stays even at 4000rpm with the air intake screws fully in. Would not start unless one of the carbs air intake is blocked. Carb settings are ok, the inlet manifolds and the metalic tube between the 2 carbs seems good too. Some times the carbs starts to leak from the cubes. Changed the O rings from the valves. I've also checked the ignition point. Is it a air leak ? Any help would be much apreciated.

I am looking for an inexpensive carbs synch tool and I found: THIS(link). Looks pretty good for the money. Anyone have experience with that tool or another inexpensive tool that works well? JDG

As you can see, You can see the sprocket, and the magnitto case, there is a screw where the clutch goes down into the engine, what is that screw for? I ask this question because, my clutch has been acting up, and I'm trying to sell my bike, this makes it hard when I let go of the clutch fully, and it seems like someone is still holding it.... Please help me out.

I have a 2005 roadstar 1700 with the stock Mikuni BSR40. I changed the exhaust to the "Road House" duellys and the air cleaner to the "Max Air". I now am running too lean as evident by the spark plugs, and more so by the sneezing/hesitation while accelerating from a stop. I've already adjusted the primary mixture screw to it's limit, and slightly opened the choke/enricher cable. I've heard that the next step would be to re jet the carburator, but I don't know to what extent. Do I need to re jet or might it be something else?

Hi all, Seem to have a serious voltage drain somewhere on the FZR. Brand new battery went in on Wednesay, was flat by yesterday. Any advice on how to find the prob (apart from sending it to an auto-spark!)?

Whilst I do not want to send people to another bike forum I did find some wiring diagrams on one that may be useful. So see if they have what you want and then return. I know people come to this one for the comradery, abuse and pictures of Goff so I guess nothing lost. Here they are

on my 85 xj700 the tci ignitor has two sets of wire clips one with like 7 or 8 wires to it and one that has a clip for 4 wires but only three wires are used.if your looking at the tci unit the way im looking at it the 4 prong side is on my left 7 or 8 prong on right.the way mine is the top left prong has no wire,top right wire is black,bottom left wire is red or orange then bottom right is grey is this right?the reason i ask is only the coil that sparks 1&4 cylinder fires but the coil that sparks 2&3 has no spark,but has fire to the coil,checked it out with new coil so im thinking my tci wires maybe wernt placed righ when i had wiring problem because ran fine on …

Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone can help with a small but irratating fault with my 82 Yam rd250lc? When started(Always first kick) the bike idles perfectly and will take the throttle as it should and then will return to a normal idle (1000rpm).It has now developed a intermitant over revving when the throttle is blipped (parked)The bike will rev to approx 4000 revs and will stay there even though the throttle is closed and will eventually return to it,s normal idle? hi everyone. my question is, would it be possible to fit a DT80 piston and barrel into a 50 sized engine, seeing as they are similar engines (despite the size) also, anyone know where i can get a set of DT80 downpipes to help my yammy breathe a bit better? - Steve

Hi Guys, Wondering if anyone would be able to advise me. I've got a 2002 Yamaha R6. Had quite a bad crash and smashed up the rear rim the bike uses a 5EB rim and i was told that the Yamaha R1 4XV rim would Fit my R6. Is this correct or am i wasting my time??? PLS HELP! Thanks Jimmy

Right, where to begin I previously had a post on here regarding the work done to my bike and it being in the garage for several weeks... To cut a long story short, to get to the shims on this bike, how do you do it? Do you need to take off the exhaust headers just below the carbs,? Cause I cant see any marks on bolts at the exhaust headers if they took them off As the garage said they replaced gaskets etc, and did the shims cause of low compression or something Now I am getting an oil leak at,..I think 2 of the gaskets as you look in the left side of the bike the 2 gaskets you see through the hole in the fairing. Okay, so someone hit my moped in the carpark at work the other day, while the steering lock was applied. They seem to have bent the steering, but the bike workshop won't even open the bike up for less than £100, to see the extent. They also said if the frame is bent, it could be a write off... is this true? Thanks!

Hi guys, I just bought a fazer 2nd hand. I had to upgrade after my YBR got squished by a considerate lady lol Anyways, whenever I change gear the neutral light stays on. The bike runs perfect regardless of this. Anybody know how I could fix this? Im a bit of noob when it comes to mechanical/technical ... so any info/input/advice, greatly appreciated

Hi folks, I'm looking for some advice for my 1996 YZF600, i dont know if this is normal or not. When I turn my handle bars to full lock my thumb is trapped between the tank and grips. I'm pretty sure this is not how it should be. Can anyone advise me on how to resolve this issue. Thanks

Ive got a 2000 tw 125,when you push the starter button there is a spark at the plug for 5 or six times then nothing,take thumb off the button and it sometimes starts,push button and it sparks again for five or six times. bump start it and it runs as sweet as a nut,any body any ideas? ive fitted new plug and done usual checks,battery etc. wal

Hi all, Ive just aquried a DT125R which needs some work done. Can anyone help with the following. 1) Ive been told that the 2 stroke bottle hasnt been mixing as the bike felt sluggish, the previous decided to premix. Ive stripped it down and found a small black tube disconnected next to the crank case where the 2 stroke bottle goes into. Does this tube fit anywhere? if so where? 2)Ive also noticed a disconnected plug, this seems to go to a cable controlled unit which is fitted onto the head, i believe its got something to do with the power valve. Can this remain disconnected? 3) Finally, the kick start isnt engaging unless you flick the arm…

Is anyone familiar with the oil pressure on a Yamaha Big Bear 350? I don't seem to have any! I loosened the bolt on the cylinder head and nothing came out. What does this mean? What could the problem be?
