Hello all, Newbie here. I have just recently aquired a DE360 (1974). As I am new to this bike how does the compression release work? It seems to have alot of comp. when kicking it. Also does anyone know where I mighy find a carb/carb kit? from the book it says that it is a Mikuni VM26SH. I think the Yamaha PN: is 445-141016100 for the carb. Any help on these matters will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Don B.

Hi just bought my first bike and I am having trouble getting the bike to run. It starts and goes for about 2 minutes then losses power then stops and wont start again, the plug seems to be getting flooded, I take the plug out and clean it and some times she starts and cuts out, and other times she wont start. Any ideas/suggestions?

Hi Forum, I'm a new Yamaha owner so this is my first time here. Just purchased a Yamaha XVS 1100 (Should add it's a '03 plate) A and really happy with it - although I would like to change the front mudguard to something slightly more stylish. The previous owner has put a large wrap around mudguard on the bike and I want to change it to a smaller one - a small one that just sits on top of the front wheel similar size to a sports bike style mudguard if you know what I mean? I was just wondering if anyone knew a decent place to buy one from? Or even what size would be required for a reasonable fit? Any help or advice greatly appreciated of course :-) Thanks…

Hi all, I wanna replace the throttle cable on my bike while its apart - some bright spark has bodged the adjuster with their expert braising skills and its fecked. Have sourced a supplier, but also seen a set on ebay which are cheaper. The seller on ebay has stated the part number 4TV-26302-00. Going by their crap pics I reckon these are for a Foxeye, not a 3HE like mine but was wondering if anyone can confirm this before i buy from other supplier. I did ask the seller but he said he hadnt a clue - useful guy.... Many thanks as always! Vic

wr125 any 1 got any idears how to get full power ?dt125 were restricted unrestricted they really flew for a 125. Any ideas please PM me. Thanks

where can i buy a set of new oil seals and a set of the dust cover things (dont know if they have a special name) the black bits that sit on the forks mine are cracked for a 99 sr125 please thanks elmmetxx

ok i just bought a 72 dt2 and it ran great when i first got it home paked it and come out about two days later to ride try to start and nothing it has had all the electrical removed that was for road use all thatsa left is the neccesary to run but my prob is i try to kick start it and all i get is the whoop whoop noise like its about to start but nothing and ive rolled it off and as long as its rolling it will run but once stopped it dies ive already tested the spark drained all the gas out and put new in, drained the gear oil and replaced and cleaned the carb out and still nothing any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Maybe this is a simple problem but when I flip the switch to my right indicator it doesn't work, it doesn't seem to engage the switch properly. I can turn it left fine but the right one only seems to come on sporadically, it doesn't work everytime I press it. It's like the switch on my indicator is broken. Should I take this to a mechanic or am I over looking something? It's a Fazer FS600 2002 model.

I Have a 1996 XJ900 Diversion that has started blowing the main 30A fuse when the bike is under load. Have checked all wiring cannot find problem. After blowing causes 30A fuse to blow just with ignition on. Letting bike cool allows bike to be started with new fuse but blows again once load is applied. Be grateful for any advice as I now need to perhaps get it recovered and taken into electrical shop

My Yamaha TZR50 will not start after a spell of rain. It will run for a while but when i put it in gear and start to ride it will soon lose all power and just stop me on the side of the road, then she will start again but the same thing happens over and over again. However now the bike struggles to start at all because of constant rain shower recently. This only happens in the wet. On a dry day when the bike is dry she is lovely. Please help.

Not a question - just an observation. I'd manage to source a replacement airbox for my Radian sometime last year - finally got round to having a go at fitting it today. Unfortunately, I discovered that when they built these bikes, they started with the airbox and then built the entire bike around it....I'd dismantled virtually everything, and after a couple of hours trying to bend ease it out I gave up - seems the only way to get that baby out is to take the engine out. I fitted new carb holders whilst I was at it. Now it won't start.....there's always tomorrow I suppose (once the battery has re-charged...)

Hi, I have just purchased a YBR 125 (new) and have now found out that it is an import. The odometer is in Km but the speedo is both. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the odometer to read miles? The top speed seems to be about 50 Mph, have the imports been restricted? Many Thanks

i have a dragstar 1100 and am wanting to remove the air induction system, does anyone know where i can buy the kit to block the pipes?

my 1982 yamaha virago 920's front cylinder will only fire when the choke is fully on. i just rebuilt the carbs, and am having this problem now. i have looked in the manual and have double checked my work on them several times. it seems like the cylinder is not pulling fuel yet the carb is getting fuel. i can't figure out why. as soon as i unchoke it the engine tries to idle but dies shortly thereafter. can anyone help me please?

hi there i have recently bought 98 fazer 600 which i rode for a few days and was fine parked it up for a day went to start it and it wouldnt start. i have measured the battery and although a little low 11.87v seems enough to turn over. when i press the starter button the relay clicks but then i just get a loud buzzing noise. does anyone have any ideas what this could be. any help is greatly appreiciated cheers ryan

Hi, New member here, but an old rider ! My '75 DT-250 jumps out of 3rd gear on acceleration. A Yamaha dealer told me if he "remembered correctly, there was some sort of detent for adjustment" behind the cover, but wasn't positive. I know I need a new clutch, as I am nearly maxxed on adjustment. But I would think that once it's in gear it shouldn't pop out, in spite of the clutch issue ? Can anyone shed any light or suggestions? I have recently moved and don't have the web at home yet, so doing a little Saturday research at work. Will be here for another 5 hours, would really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Greetings, I have had much luck in other forums when I had a Honda. I am hoping to get some tech guys here to answer a question or two. I have a 1989 Yamaha FJ600 which wont start. The engine will turn over just fine but no ignition. I rode the bike for about a year before that just fine. One day it wouldn't start. I am new here so maybe there is a checklist of things I should go through but I cannot find it. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks, Joshman

just in process of changing pumps and the shim fell into the engine, as it does say it might in the manual. any ideas as how to get it out without splitting the whole engine?

Hi there, I got a fazer 600 2002 bellypan off ebay recently. Unfortunately I didn't know I needed a fitting kit. After a tiresome slug on google I have been unable to find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know a manufacturer who will offer these? I've been told "pyramid" make these but so far my search hasn't yielded any results. Does the kit have a special name or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated, my tries on google have lead me nowhere, maybe I'm just being a bit thick but I have to ask! Cheers!
