Ok, I finally finished everything up on my 88 FZ750 and took it out to stretch it's "legs". But when I shifted into 6th gear it started rattling didn't sound like a motor rattle and have no idea where it came from so I quickly down shifted and it quit making the noise. Any ideas on what would be causing this problem? What I should look for? All other gears are fine no noise, no vibration or anything. On a second note do you think it would be safe to ride as long as I don't shift into 6th? Like I said everything else checks out great. Thanks, Randall

Hi, when I pull the front brake on there seems to be play somewhere on the front end. It is definately not the headstock bearings so I'm assuming its the fork bushes (which I believe is a common problem). Can these be replaced or are the forks scrap?Is this an MOT failure? Need some help DTMX guru's

some of the wires have come out of the main cut out relay plug which is fixed to the wiring loom. the plag is then connected to the relay. the plaug is numbered with colour coded wires. there are 9 wires on this 99 modes bike and i think the 2000 model has a diffrent setup with more wires. i bought a haynes manual but because the plug is part of the wiring loom it doest show which number goes to wire. it would be very much appreciated if anyone has any knowledge or someone with the same year bike would be able to record the numbers with each colour coded wire. Hi, hope someone smarter than me might be able to help. I own an xvs 1100aw. Indicator fuses keep blowing, if bike is idling stand down, no probs although tail and head light show a current change by slightly dimming in sequence with indicators. Once i throttle on the fuses go?? Any suggestions please would be most welcome.

New to the forum, need some info. Have an RT2 or 3? VIN RT1-131547 manufacture date 8/72. Looking for carb spec info. Specs from Yamaha parts fiche say float height 8.5mm for RT2 and 21.4mm for RT3? Which do I have and how is it measured? (sliding dual floats) TIA

hi need some help!!! my yamaha dt 125x has been giving me loads of grief lately basically it wont run write when i fire her up she runs fine on choke but when i take the choke off it runs down the revs and cuts out the same way as if i ran out of petrol but its tempermental i tried turning the tickover up that helped then when i take it out on the road as soon as i give it over half throttle it tries cutting out so i either have to keep to 40 or ride the choke!! also the other day i went out it seemed ok so i gave it some throttle to see howw ok it was got to 70 then it just lost all power. i dont have loads of money so i dont want to take to a garage n they say itl cost …

Does anyone know if I could put a YZF1000 cylinder on a YZF750 lower end? is the height of the cylinders the same or taller? Will the 750 head bolt onto a 1000 cylinder? If they are the same height I should be able to use the existing mounts, exhaust and intake setup. Would the 750 head and cams flow enough air? Would I just lose a little on top and gain in the midrange?

right well i cant find much information about my bike anywhere as its a jap grey import, well i assume this is the reason, but how much oil will i need for my bike? also iv been told its the same filter as a vfr400 nc30, is this right? and just to check it is 10w40 i need for my bike isnt it? i could really do with buying a workshop manual thanks in advancce

hi guys. i have a XT125R (58 plate brand new when purchased) and yesterday the rear wheel started shaking while riding. so i stopped checked it over saw nothing out of place so carryed on home, got home fine not a problem. went to work this morning and after about 4miles or so the rear wheel/end of my bike made sounds like i was running over a grate, so i slowed down trying to nurse to my work where i can call up the dealership and get it looked at. but less than a mile later while going at 25Mph the rear whell started the squeak then squeel for short bursts. so i stoped again and checked it over and still no sign of anything out of the ordinary. so i set off this time at…

Hi, I have a 1991 DT 50 MX which will not spark at the plug. I have gone through all the usual checks, coil resistance, plug, all connections, magneto resistance, ignition switch, sidestand switch, kill switch etc. it is the CDI version ignition, and I am thinking that maybe that is the culprit. The bike was starting and running fine, then it would just cut out, then start straight away after. Now it will not spark at all, any ideas anyone? Thanks in anticipation Ray

lol i am i have a 1983 yamaha maxim and it runns good and idels fine but once you rev it up like 3 or 4 times gas will start to shoot out of the carbs into the intake box and it will countinue to shoot as long as you run it the only way to get it to stop is to cut the bike off what could be causing this note: also after you cut if off and crank it back up it will runn fine until you rev it agin and then the gas starts to poor out agin please help thank you

Good Morning everyone, I'm new to your site and am finding it very rewarding so far. Thank you all. I'm restoring a '83 XJ750R. When I bought the bike it had a huge round headlight on it. The '82 I used to have had a square one on it so I've changed it out to the square one. I just downloaded the wireing diagram, and am wondering, Is the headlight to come on when you turn the key on or after the bike starts? I've tested the bulb and it's alright and the wires all seem to be ok. thanks stay safe.. chris

hey guys, my name is kev... right, well as the title says really, the indicator tell tale light on the speedo isnt working, ive taken the speedo off and thought it would just be the bulb but the bulb is fine... so i got a multimeter and tested the conncetor and the power isnt getting there... but the bit im kinda confused with is that the wires are brown and dark green, on the wiring diagram it shows said 2 wires are coming from the indicators and therefore the 2 wires should both be positive?? but they cant be as it would need an earth? There is just the 1 bulb, not a bulb for each direction. I think all the indicator wires go to the turn switch on the handlebars so i g…
