  3. Howdy, I woke up one morning to find my front brake caliper hanging lose on the wheel - both bolts had vanished on my xvs 400. The brake was locked on. Ive completely stripped the caliper down and cleaned it and purchased replacement pistons and rubber seals and pads. How do I fit the rubber seals into the small groves in the caliper body where the piston sits? I know I can use a c clamp to gently seat the piston but dont know about the rubbers. Thanks

Hi All i have a missfire over 7000 rpm on my tzr-r 125 belgrada, i have noticed that when i open the throttle all the way it missfires but if i open it very slowly as it accelerates it doesnt seem as bad although it still jerks above 8000rpm , it doesnt do it in the first 3 gears. I have no real history on this bike, so if anyone out there knows what the correct standard jet sizes are it would be a good starting point, and or any tips as to carb and air mixture setting . it to me seems its either getting to much fuel and air or not enough. thanks Dave

Hi all, I have been watching and searching the forums for a few weeks after buying a ybr125 a day after completing my CBT, An 07 with injection. It has been fun and have used it a bit with no real problems, apart from having to adjust the gear lever because my boot was a bit big and it was difficult to change up. I usually try to service all of my cars and now bikes myself and am running through the usual items, oil, filters spark plug etc. I am now stuck on checking the gear box oil. where is the level plug? (or does it share the oil with the engine? Any help would be great.

hi guys, as the title says, i have just got myself a 2008 plate ybr 125. got a couple of problems with it, as i got it off of a good friend, he (honestly) told me all the faults with it. the dipped beam light doesnt work, and the main beam is well off because it got bent, and is pretty much impossible to bend back so the beam sits in the correct place. Also the clock lights do not work. Any help please? would be much appreciated cheers loz

I have recently acquired an 2000 Yamaha TW125 Trailway, I was told it needed the carb setting up when I bought it and duly booked it in for the work. When I got it back I was told "he has done his best with it but it really needs a new carb" now it does run a lot better and seems to run up to around 40/50mph fine but when I put it into top gear it slowly starts to slow down (as if fuel is getting restricted) until I have to drop it down gear to build the revs up again. A. Does this sound like a carb problem ? would hate to track one down and find it does not fix the problem. B. What carb should I look for to fix it ? Cheers for reading this and sorry if it's a d…

I need some help from the local experts. My bike won't start unless I put a gas soaked rag into the intake. I have installed new plugs(proper gap), new air filter and clean gas but it is a no-go unless I use the rag. Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks Smitty

Hi folks, looking for some ideas about what's doing with ym bike. Recently had my carbs balanced at a local garage, all was fine for a day or so of riding. Today when I started it is was misfiring occasionally at idle, this seems to go away at higher ravs but makes it sometimes hesitatnt pullign away. Also noticed the tachometer seems to be pulsing fairly regularly at idle on maybe 100-200 RPM but enough that you can see. Any ideas would be much appreciated. The bike didnt do this before I had the carbs balanced. Cheers

Hi this is my first post so bare with me. I have an 01 thundercat that has been layed down on both sides. So instead of getting the stock turnsignals replaced i bought aftermarket leds. I have previously put new led lights on the back and have had no problem but when i went to swap the fronts out I found 3 wires: blue/red , Black, and Brown . I know what all the wires are for, but when I hook my 2 wired led lights up yellow into brown and black into black nothing seems to work. ive also tried having one stock signal on and one led. Thats when i get mixed results. I can turn the right blinker on and everything is fine but when i turn the left one on all the lights come on.…

Hi, I have recently passed my direct access, and wanted a "cheap first big bike", not got a lot of money as my two kiddies spend it all before I earn it and so bought a 1991 XJ600 off ebay for a 'bargain' price. It was running a bit rough, the fuelling / power seemed to be quite on and off at a constant throttle, and it dumped a huge chunk of oil from the engine while it was parked up at work. So my dad agreed to have a look at it. He has found some quite disturbing things and seems to have hit a wall. It has mikuni carbs and K&N filters. The oil spurts out at very high pressure when you turn the engine on via some kid of breather pipe. My dad sent me the info below…

Hi, Wonder if any one can help, I have a couple of old SR 250'S, one for spares and one for thrashing to within an eighth of an inch of it's life. The problem i have is that on both carbs [the one on the bike and the spare one] the Diapragm's are split and have multiple little splits in. I cant find anywhere that would be able to replace the Diaphragm's, and even if i could find somewhere i suspect that the price would be double what the bike is worth.. So in a nut shell would it possible to either repair the Diaphragm [if so what with], or does anyone know if a completely different carb from maybe another bike could be adapted or even maybe fit straight on the bike w…

hey peeps. well i have been riding the XJ for a few days now and apart from a blown fuse last night it has not skipped a beat. i now have a michelin pilot sporty on the front, and its quite awesome and the bike is cornering much better than it did before. but its nearly time for the rear tyre to be replaced, which ones are best to use? look at the <£60 price range. also, my bike is supposed to be running 110/90-18 front and 140/90-18 rear. but its currently running 90/90-18 front and 110/90-18 rear, any reason why the previous owner would have change it to these and what difference would i feel if i changed to the original specs?

2007 FZ1 ~36k miles lost 2 cylinders - i don't have a lot of technical knowledge. I can change my oil, i took my radiator off to get to the plugs, and i know how to put it back on. 2 Fridays ago I was going to work. I was going along the highway about 70 everything seemed fine. I got off the highway and i got caught at a light and when the light changed i went to take off my bike sounded like a V-twin. It had no power either. I was real close to work so i went ahead and rode in. That night I rode home, at first it sounded bad but a little gas and it came back, about 2k rpm. So i started to ride home, about 1 mile out it shut down again, I would get spurts of 4…
