    hi everyone bought a rxs 100 1985 with only 6000 ish miles on the clock recently got it serviced new air filter spark plug oil, with the really cold and snowy weather lately the throttle has been sticking when i stop at lights etc. i have to turn it off by the key cant push throttle back. have pulle the slide out and there is ice on top of it !! any ideas ?

    Hi everyone, I picked up a bike yesterday which was advertised as a 1981 DT 125 with a rebore done. When I looked at it though it had the numbers 2A700 on the bottom of the cylinder. The numbers on the second line had been filed/scraped off, I believe these are supposed to tell you the cc. After reading through some of the parts catalogues I found that the "Model-IBM ID Number" in the service data for the 1978 DT175E is 2A7 so I'm assuming that's the engine I have. When I pulled the sparkplug out of the bike to replace it the plug was an NGK B8HS but the service data sheet said to use a Champion N-7Y.     Hi guys, just joined this site today. I'm looking to do some modifications to my XJ600 as I like the bike, I just want to make it more interesting. What I would like to know is, Can you put a wider back wheel on, for example, an r6 rear wheel. I've enquired into putting the r6 swingarm on but I'd rather not if I don't have to. Also can you get clip on's to fit? I asked a dealer but they were not sure as they thought it may restrict movement because of where the tank is in relation to the bars. Has anyone done this before or would I be better off sticking some straight bars on? Cheers Rob

    I road the XS400 to work Friday. I experienced a couple of electrical problems. First, I lost all power- nothing. No lights, no starter...no start, not even with kick. Eventually the power came back...but I did not know why. Later in the day, the bike started, but no lights. Hmmmm. Saturday, I went through and cleaned every electrical connection, one at a time. All inside the headlight, under the seat, everywhere I could find a connection, I took it apart, used solvent on a q-tip, scrubbed it clean, then dried it with another q-tip.     I have completed rebuilding the engine on a '74 DT175 and now I am trying to slip the engine back into the frame. I was able to get the top rear mount to align, but when I insert the mounting bolt, the front and lower rear engine mounts are too high and I can't seem to get the engine to budge. I took the top rear bold out and I can get a bit closer with the lower rear mount and front top mount, but it still need to shift down in front and back abotu 3/4 of an inch. I can't see any where where it is bound up. Is there a trick or technique I should be using? Thanks JW896

    Hi guys , haven't been on here allot recently :\ But once again I am puzzled and wondered if you guys could help me ? I have a 2004 TZR 50 and ive been riding for a few months now ( I love it ! ) but not so much when things go wrong and i end up pushing my bike 6 miles up and down hills at 10/11 pm at night ! Okay so earlier today i got the air filter off and gave it a good thorough clean out ( it was very oily and I think it was restricting the air flow ) Now the bike ran well ( took it out for a quick 5 min run ) , and it didn't need the choke on slightly like it did previously .     hi guys! i'm rebuilding an old '86 FZR1000, (genesis?) the crank looks a bit minging so i set about looking for one, there's a few 750 ones on ebay, but my manual says the stroke is different between the 750 and the 1000. - i just thought the bore was bigger? does anyone have any enlightenment on the subject? have you tried interchanging them etc? in short... will a 750 crank fit into a 1000? i'd have said not, but some i have spoken to say "they're all the bloody same!" "shame on you" "get off my garden" "stop it you dirty b£$ta%d!" and other things.. helpy-helpy-verry happy. jim

    can any body tell me if a dt50mx left hand crank case will fit on a dt80mx engine i have found a dt50 crank case but cannot find a dt80 crank case. can anybody help me. regards phil.

    Hi guys, i'm new to the forum, and i really need some help with my bike. I bought this TZR 125 a few months ago, the fairing were all smashed, but it was a good runner. So we've repaired the fairings, and now it will not run properly. The first problem is that it will not start off the button, but will usually start off a bump, which is no big deal because its easy to bump. But since we've repaired and sprayed the fairings, the damn thing will not run. When its stationary on the side stand it will tick over and run, but not rev freely. But when i try to ride it it revs to about 4k and misfires and after a few seconds it will cut out completely. Ok, so.. things we…

    Hi, I have an 09 XVS1300A Midnight Star with just under 6000 miles on the clock from new (June 2010)and at the moment with this wet weather every time I pull the clutch lever the neutral light comes on. Can anyone tell me where the neutral light switch is so I can check it for water ingress. Many thanks.

    I have a TT500 c (us model) with the Mikuni carb (no accelerator pump) that floods the bowl. Where can I get a replacement float needle and seat? Also, anyone know if the xt500 carb with the acc pump will fit the TT500 ( 76 model)

When I viewed it it started first time, rode well and started fine again when i set off. I stopped to put L plates on it and it started fine again. Then i start the 100miles back home (at 9pm) and it cuts out when Im sitting at traffic lights. Doesnt start so im sitting there swearing and it starts up. I ride away and it does it again at next traffic lights. Refuses to start now, I bump-started it but it cuts out whenever the revs are low, it has no chance of idling.     I was wondering if someone could give me a step by step guide to changing a piston, rings and barrel on a aerox yq100 Y reg as i havnt done it before and i cant really afford someone else to do it. I had a compression test done it was reading 30psi max so i have purhased a new kit but it is a 55mm big bore kit (This was cheaper then a stanard kit). Any help would be great. Cheers

    Hi, Just returned to riding after too long a break! I have a new XJ6N. I was reading through the owners manual and have a question about the drive chain tension. Should the measurement of slack be between the 2 positions of the chain centre pins (eg when pulled up and down at the tightest spot), or the distance between the lower edge of the chain when pulled down and the top edge when pushed up ? Silly question I know but the handbook is a little brief. Many thanks, Arthur
