First of all this is my first post so just want to say hi Secondly i have a question about my sons jog r...the bike starts and idles fine but when you open the throttle it will only seem to go to 20mph and then bog down, sometimes and i mean sometimes it has like a powerband and shoot up to 30mph and then bog back down to 20 mph again.the other thing i noticed is when your not riding it and you tilt the bike to the side so the back wheel is not touching the ground it will rev to the max no problem....any ideas as what to look for? your help would really be appreciated thanks guys

Hello all, I have the option to buy a 1982 Yamaha Virago. The bike is currently not running and will need some work. Most likely just carburetor rebuild, but who knows, it could need more. I am new to this bike (my last yamaha was a 1980 XS400 which I loved), what is the availability of parts? Are they easy to come by? Are they relatively cheap? This bike was made well before I was born. What was its reputation for reliabilty and quality? Thanks, Adam

Hi as the title suggests I have a query regarding an AGV Stealth Helmet. I have read numerous sites on checking/measuring head size and correct fitment etc. I am 54cm and would say round head Going with AGV Site it recommends the XS Helmet....so went to check out some helmets Tried a few on, as I Have an Xlite 801RR which is a small I tried a few of AGV's Small Stealths on first... quite a bit of movement side to side, tried the XS on ..no probs. On the XS my nose just touches the nose piece (not sure of technical term) and the chin strap is quite a bit to the left, is there a way of adjusting this as its the Double D with the clip? The clip itself o…

It's not bike related but I'm aware a few of you on here are familiar with locks etc.. Ok, so my Dad has managed to lose the keys for his van (2001 Vauxhall combo). Is it possible to get a replacement cut? ( i presume so but don't want to get laughed at from the locksmith) If so what will i need to do i.e call a locksmith out or is it just a case of taking a number from the barrel and getting one cut from the smiths? Any advice appreciated.

Hi everyone, Not long back i fitted a big bore kit (60cc) to my 1993 DT50MX. I jetted it all perfect and put new gaskets on. It ran perfectly fine until not long after i had my head skimmed, a whuring type of noise became apparent. It sped up the higher the revs went. It wasnt too loud but seemed to get louder the longer it had been running. About 2 weeks later i lost quite a bit of compression so after a bit of inspection the studs that hold the cylinder and head down were pulling from the crankcase. So i drilled and tapped the holes that they screw into to an M8 thread. I then got some M8 threaded bar and cut it to size. I lock tighted the new studs in place and …

Hello, I am new to this forum..Just got myself a used 2007 Yamaha R1 with 2700 miles (Bone stock) on it.When I got it, the seller told me that he had not ridden the bike for a while (3-4 weeks) and hence he said that the battery might not be charged well(he had it in a trickle charger). I trusted him and I got the bike. I had to ride the bike for like one hour before I stopped at a gas station. I cranked the bike then and it started instantly. Then I rode it for another 40 minutes to an ice cream shop and then when I hit the start button the starter motor would try to crank the engine but the engine wont start. My display and lights go off and then once I release th…

Hi everyone, after a long time without a bike 18 years!! I recently got given a DT 175 MX that runs but needs work. Unfortunately It didn't come with a V5 or registration number. I would like to try and put it back on the road one day. The frame and engine numbers match but I don't know the year of it. I know it is a later model because of the box section swing -arm I learnt to ride on a DT175 mx with a tubular swing -arm my first bike! Is it possible to date the bike ? Can someone point me in the right direction please thanks AD

I own have owned a 1998 TRX for 8 years, and it is virtually original with only 8000 miles on the clock. Work/maintenance during this time has been new tyres, oil and filter change, new battery and cleaning the brake pistons. Recently when starting, it initially cracks up on the RH cylinder, then the other cracks in and bob's your uncle; gradually it takes longer to fire on both, and now will not crack-up the LH cylunder at all. I think the plugs were changed about 7000 miles ago, so is the possible fault? I have tried removing the LH plug with the toolkit spanner but due tight working space, cannot get it in the hole (ok so am nearly 70). Any ideas on the problem; d…
