Hey peeps Been riding the XJ for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it, however, I've noticed when pulling away under load it taps or clicks, however when decelerating it doesn't tap. Is there a known cause for this and is there anything I can do apart from stripping and rebuilding the engine to fix it? -Steve

OK so i admit I was skimping on gaskets last time I had the engine off for repairs. I used Hylomar Blue becuase I couldn't afford a cylinder base gasket back then and it seemed to work OK. Except the engine was always very oily and I was getting through a lot of oil between regular changes. So I made a note to replace gaskets at the earliest opportunity, and wh-hey, that was last weekend. OK so i have to admit that buying Chinese paper gaskets in a set was - well - a little cheapskate, but hey, better than nowt. Hi I'm trying to find if the ignition pick up on the DT360 is the same item as the DT400. A similar generator was also fitted to the YZ400 but the ignition is different, they may have used the same pick-up though. . If anyone can post nice clear pictures of the CDI 1977-8 DT 400 (also 250) generator or can say for sure if the ignition pick up is the same - I'd be grateful

I own an 86 FJ1200 that I'm trying to hop up a bit, I've been offered a set of carbs and 4 into 1 Yoshimura pipes from an 1100. My question is basically, will these pieces fit my motor? any help on this is appreciated Robb

Hey everyone!!! I need to know if someone on here can help me before i spend lots of money on something i dont need too!! Ok i bought this bike about 3 months ago! Its a 1992 yamaha yz250, when i purchased it she started 2 kicks and i took it for a ride! It would not hit the power band it would bog down when i got to the point of action! He told me it would need a set of reeds and thats why it was doing that! So i bought the bike brought it home and it started for the next 3 days in a row. I left it for a week and then it was hard to get started and now its 2 months later and it wont go at all. I have changed the reeds, air filter, spark plug, cleaned the jets …

when i start my xvs it takes approx 5 minutes for the engine to become warm enough for it to be rode if i try pushing the choke in it wont rev until the engine has warmed up its using an aftermarket choke an cable is this normal leaving it warming up for 5 mins at 6am annoys everyone

I recently inherited a 1979 Special 750 cc Triple. The bike has been sitting in a barn for at least 15 years, and to my knowledge hasn't been started in that long. Before that time I rode the bike on a couple of occasions and other than a misalignment issue, with the front forks, it seemed fine. I need to get the bike operational so I can get a local title inspection done in order to transfer it into my name. Since I have been searching for replacement parts, I have been hearing about an inherent problem concerning the vaccume-controlled fuel delivery. Hi i have a 2009 XT 125, recently the oil warning light came on so i changed the oil. The light will not go out!! HELP!!

First off, hello to all This is my first post on the forum. Secondly, I'm having problems starting my bike. It's a 1986 YX600 Radian, I've checked it over and she has a brand new battery in but still I can't get her to start. Sometimes she will kick off, but once the engine has switched off again, it's probably wont go again. I've had this problem for a while now but haven't had the time to work on it. The symptoms: With the battery fully charged I try to start the bike. At first attempt I hear a small crank, but then nothing but clicking. I think it's coming from the starter relay, but haven't had a chance to properly check this. Does anyone know if this is a …

Hi All had a few issues with my late 2006 jog r i have just bought, fixed most but have one last issue before heading off for MOT - Ever since i bought the bike, it initally started fine and rode ok but half way on the ride home, lost power on hills or whenever the throttle was opened more than 1/3 of the way. Hi, I have a XV535 (yamaha virago) 91 plate and i bought it a few weeks ago. I got it thru MOT and then stored it in my hubby's van for a few nights then when i got it out i stored it in the garden for 2-3 nights and went out every day to let it tick over for a few minutes but it smelt very strong of exhaust fumes. On day 3 i put fresh fuel in and revved it about 4 times (off choke), every time i released the rev it was puffing out white/silver smoke then on the 4-5th rev it seemed to stop dead and went pop I have had a mate take starter motor off and that is fine. hi guys. im a noobie here so dont know if this is the right place to post my xs250 1981 wont start just backfires now and then, just replaced the points and right side coil, all wires been cheaked new plugs and leads and had a mobile mechanic here this morning he set the points and timed it but nothing happens. plugs spark ok and points spark a tad weak any help would be great. thanks Daz.

hi guys new member here needs some help, my other half has a little SR 125 custom, got it running sweet enough, the problem i am having is that the clutch appears to be jammed!! symptoms are pull clutch lever in it stays in and won't let you engage a gear i have stripped out the clutch and cleaned it all up, the lever etc is working fine, however, the only way i can get the clutch back out is if i move the 'clutch arm on top of the engine back manually however, same thing happens again when i pull the lever in HELP PLEASE (i need to get it sold so i can pursue one of my dream bikes a YZF750!!)

Hello good people, I had to take the rear wheel off of my EW50 Slider scooter due to a puncture, but for the life of me I can't find the wheel nut torque setting anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what the setting should be, or know of a website that might have the information? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Jason

Hi I have a RD 350 ypvs and I cant figure out what the 3 fuel tap positions down, up, and rear horizontel do, is there a reserve on the bike or is it only prime etc. Thanks jgp

Hi Guys I bought a project for myself in the form of a FZR600 1990, first thing ive done is got all the service bits, also, it didnt come with a starter, it had a blanker in where starter goes, i have removed it and also removed casing to reveal, it has nothing! can anyone tell me whats needed to get a fully functional starter in this? also, what quantity of engine oil does it take? thanks guys
