Can anyone give me an indication of what I should be looking at paying for a 3500 mile service on a YBR 125 (2010) ... main dealers pricing more than I pay for my car, not sure if this is normal! Cheers

Hi guys, I’m up at the bar looking into the bottom of my empty glass! Let me buy you a drink, and tell you the problem with my DT175MX I’ve only recently purchased it to go with my CB400/4. see both bikes here It’s a 1978 registered early 79. Its got 19,300 on the clock, seems genuine as it came with MOTs dating back past 20 odd years. It had a rebore at 14,300 including 2 main bearings (not the big end). In the past week or so I’ve noticed it has a rumble under load, it’s a vibration which travels through the foot pegs, take the revs off and the rumble disappears, go back up through the gears and it becomes more noticeable. I’ve only had it a few weeks …

I've just bought my first bike, a 1997 XJ 600 N. I did my test on a 125 so have had it restricted. I have ridden it once and today when I checked the oil it has gone white/emulsified...it was fine when I got the bike at the weekend. Is there any chance the guy who did the restriction work could have caused any damage to make this happen? Or was there a problem with the bike when I got it and the seller hid it?

Hi all, my son has a DT 50 MX and the indicators just stopped working. I thought it might be the switch, however, when you turn them on the neutral switch dims as though the indicators are getting power. Could it be the flasher unit or does anyone have any other ideas. All the other lights work fine. Thanks for reading. Hope you can help. Dave.

Hi all, My DT50 has conked out on me as i was going to college. On the way the bike could only reach 35mph but usually cruizes at 40 mph. This was unusual but I thought because its been wet and all might be the spark plug. Cleaned the plug but kick starter doesnt work(still). So i had to walk a mile or two to college. i can bump start the bike but i cannot idle for long as it stops the engine? i think it may be the cable for the throttle has streached and it needs a small tightening? i dont have any tools with me :S any help asap?? its very much appreciated

I recently had the carbs on my V reg Xs500 cleaned. This sorted out the problem of starting the bike when cold as the choke wasn't working. However now when the bike has been run for 5 or 10 minutes it will often just stop running despite seeming to be ok. When it does this it will not restart on the electric start or even kick start untill it has gone cold enough to warrant the use of the choke again. Often after turning it over and then switching it off will cause a large backfire. Any ideas will be gratefully accepted.

Hi guys I have a 2005 dt125x and the other day i changed the chain and sprockets, all went fine until i went to start it up. It would turn over but not fire up. Up until now I have never ever had trouble getting it started. I stripped it down and there is no power getting to the coils. I've got basic knowledge when it comes to mechanics but im terrible with electrics. Has anyone got any suggestions, or had the same problem and fixed it. Cheers Craig

Hi guys, New to the forum, thought it would be a good idea signing up as i'm now on my second Yamaha! So my downpipes are blowing on the cat, i found some 1998-2002 r6 downpipes for cheaper than delkevics and was wondering if they would fit with fairing still on. Thanks guys and hope you can help! So as I'm still waiting on my 175's barrel to come back, I got looking at my brother in laws DT 400. I was thinking, would I be able to swap the 400 engine into my frame? Would it be easier if I were to just swap the 175's electronics over? It's been talked that I might get the entire bike given to me so the thought's been playing around in my head lately

hi i bought a non running yamaha sr 125.the guy told me it was stolen on him and got it back this way.the ignition barel smashed, fuse and wires pulled out, tank beat with hammer[or something like that] and a few other minor things.problem is when i got it home and wired it to turn over, there was no or little compression.[you dont get that because it was stolen].anyway i took the head off and the top of the piston is badly burnt and melted.the barel is ok.im going to put a new piston and rings on but before i do should i be looking for something else like what caused the piston to melt in the first place?and what else should i check before going ahead with the new piston

Hi, Can anyone offer any advice please. I have replaced the cam and chain and am trying to replace the front camchain guide but it sits about an inch or so above the slot in the head when located in the holder in the front of crank case. My query is should it be flush in the slot or will the cover pull it down when fitted? though it does not feel very flexible. The rear one with the adjuster is fine. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance. Mick

I have not long brought a '02 R6, i love it to pieces, however i would of liked the latter models mainly because of the style of faring, so is it possible to change the fairing from the '02 model to say a '08-'09 model????

Hi, I would really like to know if someone might have a clue to what this little adjuster screw does... Its a 2003 R1 I adjusted this one day when I was after the idling adjuster... stupid I know! Since I played with this my bike has never idled correctly when cold. So I assume it must be something to do with the cold start fuelling or something. I attached the pictures so you can see which one I mean... Is there any way to get the correct adjustment??? Many thanks
