Hey Everyone, So I bought a project bike off of ebay and managed to get everything running pretty smooth. YAY! I do have a slight problem. I've ordered, and recieved, a new tachometer cable and have no bloody idea where to connect it to the engine. I do have a short video that may help explain my problem that I posted to youtube. If you are interested in checking it out here is the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gWPgESV3RI no obligation and no it's nothing sinister, it really is my problem. I'd appreciate any help you guys/gals can offer. Thanks. Brian

Hi, Having rebuilt a 1988 tzr 125 which had been stored for 13yrs I have one question, which grade plug should I use now that it has a fully working ypvs, so is now a full power model? The workshop manual states use either a B8ES or B9ES, but which would be best? I know the standard restricted model uses a B8ES but should I use a B9Es now its full power? I am currrently using a B8ES and the plug is a nice light brown / dark tan colour which I believe is a good colour. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Hi, im new to biking.. i bought a virago 125 and i am going getting it serviced during winter but my problem is that the neutral light does not work.. its not the bulb as i have tried a replacement... there are two cables coming from the cluch.. one goes to the clutch the other leads into the wiring behind the headlight... the cable leading into the headlight keeps falling out of the hole for it on the clutch... is there anything i could do myself to fix this.. also it is hard to find neutral while the bike has been running but i can get it into neutral if i turn of the bike move forward a bit and click up from first. Regards, Keith

Hello all! First the good news....MY BIKE HAS COME ALIVE! :D after buying and installing some carb kits i got from siriusconinc (Thanks to drewpy for the very helpful link!) the carbs on my 78 xs400 are now in working order and the bike now starts and stays on for more than 2 seconds Now the "not so good" news... The bike turns over and idles, but the idle speed rises, very slowly, from about 1200 rpm to 2000 rpm over the course of about a minute and continues to rise at this rate. With my limited (but ever expanding!) knowledge of my bike, i assume that this can be fixed by adjusting and fine tuning the idle/air screws on each of my carburetors. But,…

Hi all, ive just got my DT back on the road. I recently bough a 2000 year model which has had the reed valves done, and an exhaust. When accelerating, it fine and goes no problem, but when i change up into 6th gear, the bike no longer pulls in the power band and begins to slow. If i drop it down to 5th, i can pull away upto 100 kph, but as soon as i got into 6th, it starts dropping speed to 60-80 kph. I feels as if its bogging down. Any ides?

Hey, Just wondered if anyone else has done this exhaust mod that I see being thrown around the Fz6r forum. Actually come to think of it there was a sales guy at Bill Smiths in Chester who had a Diversion with a modded exhaust so I know this mod has got to our shores...if not perhaps being started here! Anyway, it sound like a simple removal of the old exhaust tip mount and exit pipe and then cutting to a 2.5 inch diameter and inserting a chrome tip. Looking on ebay, the sounds pretty good (it isnt like a performance exhaust by any stretch of the imagination) but when slip ons arent an option its the only option available for under 400 quid! Also, if you have on…

Hello, I have a 1973 TX500. I spent the last couple of weeks getting the bike running. Today I went to start the bike and the starter wouldn't work. I was able to kick start it though. I start checking some voltages and found that there was only 11.4v on the battery. I disconnected the battery and still only had 11.4V. I jumped the battery with my car and the starter worked. I am assuming there wasn't enough voltage to turn the starter. Also it is a brand new battery. With the bike running I checked the battery voltage still only 11.4 volts at idle. Even when I reved the bike it only went up to 11.7 volts. It seems as though the charging system isn't wor…

Hey all First time on the forum and could not located a similar thread so started this one Had my bike under m/c cover but out in the elements for about 1 1/2 years, replaced the motor and reconnected all the plugs. Removed an after market heated grip setup and cut and insulated the wiring that was used for these grips. turned the key and the only thing that works is the clock....press starter, horn nothing (fully charged battery checked with meter) no neutral or oil light I did spray some wd40 into the kickstand switch as it was really sluggish but is now free moving. (is wd40 conductive?) I still have the front fairing removed so the headlight and front ind…

Hey everyone. Bought some cnc levers from china. The are titax look a likes! Put them on today and they look good but the brake doesn't feel as solid as the clutch. Has anyone else bought any? Do yours feel the same. I seem to remember the clutch feeling more solid as standard since it has no adjustment on the lever but the brake wasn't this wobbly. It's not wobbly between the stem and the bike. It seems to be between the adjuster and the stem. I would love to hear your experiences. Adam_fozz
