Aaargh! My clutch is slipping. The handlebar clutch lever is moving freely, the cable is lubed and moving freely, I have just replaced the friction plates and followed Airhead's set-up tips. The clutch operation seems really good but when the 'powerband' snaps in the clutch slips. The only thing I can think of is the clutch springs or the choice oil. The oil is new too. Any help hugely appreciated.

Howdy, I think I know the basics.... paper filters better, but tends to be restrictive, oiled foam filters okish, and lets more air in... Foam on its own is fine for air, but filters shit, and cotton gauze, few layers, is more or less unrestricted, but invites everyone in.. I got rid of the paper element, due to it being far too restrictive, along with the intake box it was awful, and as soon as it developed a slight darkish colour, was even worse... I have put on a gauze, its great for air, but too much debris gets in, and seeing as through I was sandblasted by a HGV the other day.. I've decided to look into another type, probs foam, with an oil spray I'll…

hi there, ive finished my sr project at last, its come out pretty good,im having problems with the fueling,i have removed the air box and replaced it with a conical air filter(got it from wemoto for an earlier sr mine is 2000 reg) the carb has a 102 main jet as standard and i was told to increase this to a 120,it ran terrible on full throttle so i tried a 110 it was better but still wasnt right,it runs ok with the 102 jet,i have also modified the exhaust, there was a smaller diameter pipe inside the outer pipe which i have removed and i have fitted a universal slashcut muffler, could the exhaust be the problem for it not running at full throttle? i was hoping to get a bit mor…

Hi again people! I've just started the bike for the first this summer :-) I had to clean the spark plug connections but other than that it started/runs pretty well, but only with the choke open! As soon as I close the choke I can hear the engine start to struggle, and then die pretty quickly. The revs do not pick up when I turn the choke off, even momentarily. I've read on here that I may need to clean the carb or that maybe some of the rubber boots on the carb may need replacing? Is this right?! It's a Yamaha DT125 R, around 1990. The only other thing that may make a difference is that the power valve is not operating. The bike has been stripped of batterie e…

Hi all Have bought some led indicator resistors for each indicator, but the wiring diagram that came with them is a bit confusing. Only shows 2 wires to connect but the resistors have 4, 2 red and 2 black. How should they be wired up? Many thanks

Just picked up a 2012 WR450F on saturday. Everything about the bike is perfect besides the fact i can barley touch the ground im like 5'7". I adjusted the sag enough to where i can side saddle it but thats not going to work very well when im flying through the trails and i come to a sudden stop or im slowly creeping. Is there anyway of lowering it besides a yamalink lowering link? I cant adjust the triple clamp at all. any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi, I have a yamaha aerox YQ50, when i bought it, it has a standard exhaust on it, a few weeks later the exhaust blew and i had it replaced for a Leo Vince TT. Since then the bike has had a problem, when I slow down and get to around 5-10mph and accelerate again, the bike will bog down for about 20 seconds until it shoots off again, I have had the bike in the garage and the following had been checked: > Clutch and variation has been stripped, cleaned and checked > New rollers as the ones that came with my Leo Vince TT where not compatible with my bike > Throttle and Carb had been tuned and cleaned > The spark plug has been changed The mec…

Hello all, I'm after a bit of help with my Thundercat swing arm. The mot is due in may, so after putting it off last year, I have finally decided to take my Yamaha yzf600r Thundercat to bits so I can tidy the swing arm up cos its become really rusty and untidy and wasn't sure if it would cause an mot fail one day. I removed the swing arm with not too much trouble with the help of the Haynes manual. After seeing the extent of the rust I decided against trying to remove it all with a wire brush and sander, so put it in to get sand/shot blasted at a local place. But unfortunately I didn't block up the bearings well enough, so the swing arm pivot bearings and suspension linka…

Hey guys, Just wondering what the best oil for my SR 125 is. Haynes says 20w40SE, but I like in the UK and it's never warm. Do I need a 10W40 semi? Bikes done 31000 if that helps, cold starts seem a little bit of a struggle bit I'm just wondering what brands are good and what aren't? So any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Hi all, Today I've tried to install a new battery into my SR125 but am stuck. I took the old battery out, which was a small 4 amp battery. Went to put in the new battery (YB7L- and it slots in but I can't get to the negative terminal to attach the cable. I can get the positive cable on fine but the negative cable is too short to connect to the battery BEFORE slotting in to the battery bay. I can't get to the negative cable/terminal from the left hand side as there is very little access (second pic). Is there such a thing as a battery cable extension? Below are some pics as it's kind of difficult to explain the problem. Any help gratefully received

Had a little incident the other day (happened to be my birthday), basically ran out of road and ended up in a ditch. Resulting in a new brake lever and my right side fairing and exhaust cover to be resprayed :-/ The only part ive had problems sorting is the footpeg rubber..... now i can only find the whole foot peg/side stand assembly.. is there any chance of finding just the peg? Cheers!
