Hi Nice hot sunny day today So decided to start putting the seca back together Anyone know anything about valves at the top of fork stanchions Nothing in the manual and Google hasn’t helped much! Could I just replace them with a grommet? I fairly sure they are original, may have been just for the US market... Any help will be much appreciated Tony...

Hi everyone, I have been trying to use a wrench and a ratchet wrench to remove bolts to fit engine bars. I need to remove the floorboards, but I can't get the stupid bolts to loosen. I have taken the floorboards off themselves to get better access to the front and rear bolts that attach to the bike. Am I missing a trick or just lacking the strength required lol? Thanks, Andrew.

I have a 1980 DT175 that i have been riding as trail bike only, but now i am thinking about putting it on the street. It has all the lights and signals on it and they all work, i threw a new battery in it when i first got it and everything worked, but everything was very dim and the battery died within a few days. so i am thinking that since i have heard many things about the 6 volt system being horrible and mine isnt recharging properly. i was wondering if it was possible to change over the system to a 12 volt system? thanks

My thunderace has started chugging badly at very low revs 1500-2500 (only when warm), it has new plugs with correct spark gap etc. once above these revs it runs smoothly with no probs. Any ideas ?

Hi just bought a yamaha dtr 125 1995 model from someone and he stripped it down to spray it and polish and then it didn't run so I went to buy a battery put it on and it starts up gets it home and it starts again but dies due to no fuel goes and gets some starts and then dies, bumps it starts then dies been outside for a while having a look no spark anymore there are wires just taped up but they might be for the lights. Either need to find the problem or see how much a full wiring job would be and that is last resort.

hi everyone im new to this site so unsure if im putting this in right area? i have been looking online to common probs with the electric start on the ybr125 but have not had any success so hoping someone here would know what to do. my electric start has not worked for several months now but 2 months ago it randomly started to work again for 2 days then stopped again and has not worked since. would this be a connection problem, corrosion in the unit itself or just needs replacing? before anyone mentions wobbling the key about while ignition on....it doesnt work tried lol. if anyone could help id really appriciate it.

Hi people i have just fitted a tail tidy and small indicators to my bike and having problems. First thing is the number plate touches the wheel and i have smashed it already when i hit a bump in the road, has anybody else had same problem as i dont waner get a smaller plate fitted because of the law and second problem is the hazards dont work after fitting small indicators and their not led ones, i have notice their 23w instead of 10w on the old ones but cant seem to find them in 10w in the shape of bulb i want. CAN ANYBODY HELP

Hello everyone i have joined your great forum today after browsing posts this weekend.i have dt125r which I am repairing for my 17 year old son.Sam! Having problem with powervalve positioning and type. My barrell and head is type BN Have fitted barrell piston and head from spare engine . New gaskets used.piston and bore is+1.5mm. My problem is the powervalve when set in locked position has rubbed on side of piston and caused rings to Jam in grooves. Now I need a new piston Is this because the barrel has been bored out +1.5mm? ! Does anyone know if there are different powervalve sizes . I fitted powervalve from barrell and head code MB which would not fit in unless mod…

After fitting a new chain to my bike due the the previous one exploding, i checked the sprockets and reacon they could do with some new ones, according to all the service recipts, parts recipts and diarys i got from the previous owner . . it would appear that the ones on the bike are the same ones that were on when it left the factory 24000 miles ago. . question is, what should i get ? my choices dor both sprockets are stock, one more tooth, or a tooth less. if i was wanting to gain a bit more power ( quicker acceleration ) what would i be best changin ? front sprocket extra tooth, rear sprocket on less tooth and so on so on . . also, what kinda affect would th…

Here is a little '71 JT1 that I purchased...found it rotting away in a field...it was stuck when I got it but broke her free and did a little video before I started taking it apart...click on the pic have taken it apart and am starting to get the parts all spiffy frame work blasted and painted tank almost ready for color got the wheels done today...fresh spokes ..a little polish and correct 2.50-15 tires what ya think so far

hi all, sorry for the sheer amount of posts and questions but i have no real clue about the workings of my bike! I've noticed that the drive chain is making a weird squeaking noise, could this just be a matter of cleaning and lubing the chain or would it suggest that its too tight or loose? Ive checked the slack and there seem to be some spots where it is tighter than other spots, is this normal? Thanks

ive just installed some new, lower profile handlebars on my Virago XV 125, all installed and looking pretty sexy but as they dont have as much pullback as the stock bars i now have an excess of cables going to all controls. How easy is it to trim these cables down so it doesnt look like spaghetti junction anymore? Also due to the new angle of the bars the stock wing mirror mounts are now making the mirrors stand almost vertically. Is there any inserts you can thread in that will take the angle to a more asthetically pleasing angle or is it a matter of getting new mirrors?

hello everone just join today. i took apart the govenor assembly yesterday and noticed the springs where rusted and broken . i've looked on ebay and called some bike shops and nobody carries these springs. they want 50.00 bucks for a new assembly. i would like to just replace the springs since the rest of the assembly is in fine working order. my question is can anyone tell me where to get these springs?. their is 2 springs in the assembly. the bike is a 1974 yamaha dt125. thankyou in advance.

Hi, I like to do my own maintainence, I have a dragstar 125, and its 2004. Its engine runs nice and smooth, but there is a slight ticking, nothing major, also there is like a very slight whiring sound, I'm just putting that down to the engines normal noise, seeiing as though this bike is more technical than my other chinese bike, I dare not open it up unless I really have to. Has anyone ever been into the dragstars OHV? does it need checking often? Cheerz

Hi can any one help I have a 2006 XT 125 X when trying to start firsthing in the morning, or after it has been standing for a couple of days it will not start it will fire and cut out and then can take ages to start some times up to 10 min it doesnt seem to matter if i use elec start or kick i have tryed the choke in all maner of positions once it is running its fine and after a couple of min it will restart all day long it has had a new spark plug, battery, service, valve clearances done and carb has been cleaned can any one help me !!!!!!

Hi everyone, first post, but long time lurker. Was out riding my bobber the other day when I got into a lowside due to a loose road surface. Bike went down on it's left side, foot peg and handlebar grip both scuffed, and it bent my side mount number plate bracket. Obviously the number plate was trashed, and the tail light bulb died too. Picked the bike up, gear shifter was acting like it was in a false neutral, but got it down to first then up to neutral eventually, and managed to start the bike up fine. Bike was on it's side for no more than a minute. Engine cut out on it's own. Everything else was alright, so I rode it over to a mates house for a cup of tea…

Hello. i am new to this forum but thought it would be a nice place to look for some exhaust parts for my bike i've just last week bought my first bike. a Yamaha XJ600N 95 modell what i am looking for is some sports exhaust i guess.. what i am looking for is something that will get some more raw sound from it i've been looking for some on ebay/ioffer but found very little stuff maybe someone here can point me to a place where i can buy some good stuff?? thanks!
