Does anyone know tyhe specs and details of the facet pump used on the 87 1000 genisis, seems almost impossible to find out the specs and most places don't even list a replacement part... wemoto list a points repair kit but my pump pumps away as nothing is wrong but it has no sucknblow (lol) so im guessing its a diaphram or simalor problem......??? Any help will be much appreciated..

Hi all, i'm having a bit of trouble with my Yamaha XS 250 Custom 1980. It keeps on firing on one cylinder and i do not know why? I have changed the one ignition coil, the condenser, the pickups and set them to a measurement of 0.35mm but i'm still having trouble with it. Can someone please help me as this is the only problem i'm having that's stopping me from getting it on the road. Many thanks; Kyle

hey there my SR is now fully rebuilt, passed the MOT with out a single fault but ive noticed now the bike over revvs way to high, for e.g as soon as I pull away it revs so loud it has to go into 2nd, it overs revvs at bout 22 and wants to go into 3rd.....over revvs at bout 33 and wans 4th gear etc etc, in 5th gear I can hit bout 50 before its screaming......I was wondering if anyone can help me out here, its never done this before its always changed gears smooth no over revving, I used to be able to do 60 in 5th without it screaming. Tine is here for a m first service on the the Divvy since I bought it, about 4k down the line. Went for an oil and filter deal from Busters. How long do folks give it before doing an oil change?

Please can anyone tell us where to source complete trike kit or someone knows who can carry out work for us, also want to get an idea of price etc. Have ridden bikes with hubby for well over 30yrs and our main bike has always been yamaha 1100 virago. Due to hubbys arthritis his muscles has wasted in his arms and has a job holding the bike up. hence we are looking for someone to convert into trike, which would then solve the problem and we wont have to give up biking.our current 1100virago is 1999 which I think is the last year virago's were manufactured. hi everyone quick question, i want to remove the pods on my 2000 xv 125 virago for a sleeker look, ive been told that the LH pod contains a thermoswitch or something and it can be mounted elsewhere with minimal effort, is this the case? we then move onto the RH pod. what are the pro's and cons of removing the pod and replacing with a cone filter or something similar and what is involved in the process? if pod removal is somethin people wouldnt suggest then i may just spray them matt black but ideally just want rid of them cos im not too struck on their look

Hey guys, My maxim is leaking either oil or final drive oil or both. How does the final drive "breather" on these bikes work?? Is it not supposed to have some kind of hole or valve in it or be in two pieces so there can be air exchange??? Possible someone put the wrong one in? Mine does not move or seem to have any sort of hole in it........Is it supposed to be removable also? Cuz mine wont budge. Dont wanna break it......The bike also seems to be venting oil out the crankcase breather tube. Seems to happen after longer highway type drives. My 79 XS1100 hesitates and sputters at cruising speeds. Starts to run smooth as I accelerate to shift to next gear and then starts to sputter again until heading for the next gear. just before up shifting the bike runs like a rocket. Whats up with this, Anyone help me??

Hi All I'm new to the Owners Club so hi to all. i've just got an fj1200 a few weeks ago, (This is a bike i've always wanted but just never got around to until now ). The bike was running ok but two days ago when i got it out and started it up it sounded like it had no power and after putting the choke off the bike cuts out and did not start unless i put full choke back on and now its not even doing that, so i am at a loss . The FJ i have is a 1990 bike with loads of service history but nothing saying that it has ever had any probs with this sort of thing. Thanks All Stompus-Maximus

Been having abit of an on going problem with the timing chain on the bike, before it wouldn't adjust and making a slapping sound, fitting a new Spring and it approved abit but when adjusting it would go tight then slack again and when riding it quiter but still making a noise.

i am confused-generally, whats this thing here for ?? the thing i am pointing.. at it looks like a wire was once connected to this, what why where does it need to be ?? i would hasard a guess and lean towards a sender for oil pressure but i dont know please help. i cant take reference from my old engine as this had a whole load of bits missin, heres a few pics, note the highway hawk straight through system that i bought for £90 quid , and the recently shot blasted tank, and the side panels freshly sprayed....yes its going to be battleship grey

Hi, my first, but old bike, sr125 1997 has a tendancy to be on full revs when slowing down - standing still, this doesn't happen all the time, mostly when I have been riding for a while, only cure is to slightly release the clutch, cant see anything wrong with the cable..or handle. Also back brake, when riding I put my foot on to slow down and it doesn't seem to have any effect, so use the front one. It does work when standing still. Lastly, two things happen over 40mph - a slight front end wobble and vibration throughout the bike. Any suggestions? Thanks Liz

Aloha ladies and gentlemen, I want to start customising my XV125 Virago and im not sure where to start. Im thinking changing the handlebars as im not a fan of their style, want something slightly more flat and narrower. How hard will it be to customise this bearing in mind I havent done any customising but have a basic understanding of bike stuff. Also does anyone know where to buy good quality handlebars from? Secondly Ive seen people changing the air filter for K&N style cone filters, how good an idea is this? Cheers Chris

ok so been having problems starting her in the cold weather ive had now she had new batt and plugs so not sure what next thing is i covered her up at work and she started on the button but it was raningso on my 20 mile trip home from work i lost cylinders 2 and 3 checked all my leads and cables alll connections seam good so going to try a new coil pack but after that im lost lol

I have a 1984 Yamaha Virago 1000 it started loosing fire in the back plug . So i started at the plugs and worked my way back even replaced both coils tried every thing to my ability witch isnt a hole lot i suck at wireing . What i would like to do is rewire the hole thing getting rid of everything i can . Can anybody help me with a stripped down wireing diagram just the bare basics to make it run . PLEASE HELP I AM SO CONFUSED .
