    Good evening everyone. Yes i am that big of an idiot i managed to get wd40 onto my front disk. Just wanted to clarify between two bits of advice i received from my bike riding friends on how to solve my obvious braking issues. 1 I will need to buy new pads and try not to be such a fool again. 2 clean disk off with a clean cloth then go out and brake until it burns off my pads. What one is correct? Thank you. Liam

    hello, i am currently trying to restore a old beat down Yamaha tzr 125, engine is 2rh btw =) while looking through the receipts of parts replaced i noticed that the jets in the carb have been replaced 1 X 190 1 X 195 1 X 200 i remember seeing somewhere saying that the standard size for the bike is 180 if i am not mistaken, are these too big for the bike ? assuming theses are currently installed. will they cause the engine to stutter? as in previous post i stated that in 3rd gear up the engine wont hit its power band, it just stutters and slows down at high revs. thanks for any help mikuni hex heads ( brass )

    Hi all, I have recently changed a piston on my yamaha aerox and now it will only start with the choke on and with full throttle but will only rev up to about 2000 rpm but as soon as you release the throttle it dies again, all jets are clear , float is ok, new spark plug, new air filter and a new ht cap. any suggestions please, thanks.

  7. I have a 1976 yamaha xs360 and it won't start. The bike has only 2500 miles and was store for about 20 years, but it was running after that. I've being upgrading the bike and now it has weak & interrupted spark. When I tried to start the bike I discover that the right ignition coil is overheating. It did the same thing with the previous ignition coil and that was the reason why I replace it, but it's still the same. I have install new ignition coil, cables, spark plug . I tried to fix the problem with the timing and points but still the same. I would like to know if the problem is the regulator, starter relay or condenser. Does anybody has any idea on how to resolve…

    Gday im currently working on getting a DT 175 back to its roadworthy self however im having some technical issues with the electrics. I have the original service manual which doesnt offer much assistance in the lighting department. This is my first project and im 17 from Australia. ive rewired the indicators to work, the horn works the neutral and indicator meter bulbs work. BUT the headlight and general meter lamp do not. the Brake light has a bulb blown which i am replacing but the Headlamp and meter lamp are both functioning when given power directly. My question is has anyone had this problem before and if so any tips? Or is the blown brake light obstructing…

    Hi, I'm new but I've used the search function and cannot find a solid answer. I have a brand new YBR (injection) and have enjoyed the bike. My commutes on a 70mph road (A2). I've read about some sprocket info such as 1T on front is roughly 3T on back etc. What I am after is if anyone has done a extra tooth on the front. I am familiar with gear ratios so I understand acceleration will go down if I increase the front by 1T which isn't a concern as wider gears would be nicer for cruising and I imagine the wider 5th will drop you more into the powerband when doing 60/70 to aid the bike. So really I'm looking for someone that's done this on the following bike or similar and…

Hi all.I just joined the club and am having a little difficulty navigating my way around,so apologies if this is in the wrong place/been asked SOOO many times etc. Ive just bought a 97 600n and need to change the engine oil and require a few bits of information.Is the engine oil checked on the side stand or on the main stand-at the moment the level is correct if checked on the side stand but that seems a bit odd to me.Also whats the recommended viscocity?   12. My speedo cable snapped and during the change I have noticed that the front bearing does not run as smooth as it should. Any ideas of driving out the old bearings ?

    I have a dt125x which seems to be loosing water after a few uses a day. When its stood for long or over night periods theres no trace of water on floor etc, the bike is running perfect apart from that.. Quite confused can anyone help. Thanks Chris

  14. Hi everyone I did search the forum for help with this but came up with no topics so here go's. After taking my bike for a new rear tyre the mechanic sugested that i needed to replace my chain and sprokets as there was several tight spots in the chain which made it hard for him to set the free play correctly. And he also comented that the cush drive rubbers were quite perished and should be changed. I have done nearly 14000 miles since march 2011 on the bike so seems resonable to replace them right?     How do I remove the carbs on my Yamaha FZX Zeal. Do I have to drop the engine? I can look down, with a lot of gear off the bike, and see some hex socket headed bolts holding down each carb. My thought is, that the engine is designed to drop down, once the external hex socket headed bolts are removed from the side of the engine/chassis. Any help will be appreciated! Also, just noticed clamps around manifold rubbers. A tiny little phillips head screw holding the clamp secure... How do I get those out? RegardZ

    hi guys bought a cheap aeroxx 50 just for getting to work have had to replace drive belt as was very worn but when i took belt off and checked rollers they r more like a 50p shape what size do i need ie grams and it has a technigas exhaust on it help would be much appreciated thanks

    so i was riding my 2003 yam wr250f when it suddenly locked up i caught it on the clutch slowed down released the clutch as it was still running and i was like hmm thats not gd it then started to ride like it was misfiring i saw that it was low on fuel so thought maybe it was low on petrol and petrol station was closer then home so i rode it to petrol station and the second i pulled into petrol station it made a very small psst (like a very low psi dump valve blowing off) i then tryed to kick but kick start wouldn't budge i tryed electric start and it was completly locked and just made a buzz noise so i pushed it come i took off head and cylinder and looked at piston cylin…

    hello there, im a proud owner of a 1990 yamaha tzr125 which i recently built up, the problem i am having is that somthing is wrong in 1st and 2nd gear the power valve will kick in around 8K RPM, (2nd splutters unless i let off the throttle a tad) 3rd 4th 5th and 6th all have now low end power ( expected) but wont reach 8k rpm, and wont take off, top speed reached is about 50mph on a flat, it has no yvps control servo, and i have no idea what the problem could be, i took the carb off and cleaned, all seemed fine, engine is a 2RH need any more info let me know and i will post, would love to get her back to her former glory and be able to keep up with traf…

    I have a 2003 vstar 650 custom.The carb was just rebuilt because it sat for about 18 months without being run. I have replaced the fuel filter oil and plugs....it started and idled fairly well responds to the throttle ok but when I put it in gear the idle increases to an extremely high level....actually can do about 20 mph in 1st gear with no throttle if i shift to neutral it drops right back......what the heck is going on??

    Hello all and firstly thank you for having a look at this thread. I'll just give you all a brief insight on what ive done so far just incase i'm looking in the wrong place. So i started off with a rattly old SR125 with high milage so i decided I'd give it an engine change. I sourced an newer engine complete with carb with a low unconfirmed milage. I couldn't get it running at first, then i discovered the electrics were different. After replacing the generators over, i still had no luck. I then looked at all the other easier possibilities like compression, spark ect before i narrowed it down to the carb. I stuck the old carb back on and hey presto the thing fired into l…
