*Apologies if anyone has seen this posted in the bar. It's just that I'm new at all this and didnt realise that there was the workshop for these type of issues* Hi all I recently purchased my first bike, a pre diversion XJ600, and am very keen to get riding! That being said, the bike had been sitting in a garage for a while and it now doesnt want to start. I've checked the electrics and I'm pretty sure that the ignitor unit needs replacing. I've been calling breakers and checking online but cant seem to find a replacement one. The specific model I'm looking for is a TID14 - 78. I dont suppose anyone has one spare they'd be willing to sell or knows where I can get…

Hello, in start of summer i bought used Yamaha dt125x 2stroke, i was fun driving around & stuff, but now, when i'm reading, that this little bike must go to 120-130km/h, now i'm confusing about my 90km/h vmax. My bike specs : Mark : Yamaha Model : DT125x Year : 2006 What i have done - in this summer i bought new crankshalf, destructed rev-limiter. I have HGS pipe and DOMA silencer. One of my mate says, that i have to clean carurator. If i clean it, my little bike will go to 120km/h? Thanks. P.s. and i forgot, i disable my oil pump, now i mix 1:40 ...

Hi all, Complete newbie to bikes so apologies in advance for stupidity. Am not new to working on engines, just new to bikes (last thing I did to one of my cars was to build an electric supercharger (literally fabricate the thing from scratch), 30 more HP and mostly at the bottom end; whoo-hoo!). I have killed some part of my clutch on my little ybr 125, the thing is slipping badly and the biting point has shifted to about 1cm of lever depression. Tried adjusting cable at lever and engine end to no avail, silly thing to try really as unless the cable had magically shrunk that really wasn't going to be the issue! Far more likely was my low-speed maneuvering practi…

Hi, my girlfriend bought a ybr125 and started getting the revs rising when under load, so I changed the clutch. Bike is all back together now and the clutch works as it should but now the kick start will not work. I think that a spring has become unseated as the lever is constantly moving left and not staying sprung in the right hand postition. Is it just a simple case of taking the clutch cover off and locating where the spring sits, or do I have to tension it or something? Thank you

Hi guys. Me again. I have posted about this bike and these issues, but I’m starting a new thread with my new updates for the sake of clarity. I’ve checked out a few more things, but have yet to find the major issue. I apologize in advance that this post, and most posts I ever have or ever will make, may be a little long. That’s how I am. The bike is a ’78 DT175. It sat for an unknown period of time, probably very long, and I’d I’m trying to restore it to service with the least amount of hassle. I do not know why it was parked. Here’s what I’ve done so far: Drained out the old gas and inspected the tank – it is rust free and clean. Filled tank with quality name b…

Just died about 5 miles from home whilst passing an HGV going up hill awesome fun! Fuel is fresh and the bike is used regularly. RAC came along and gave the battery a hefty charge. Started the bike checked the battery was charging and it was. RAC followed me home (about 5 miles) with no problems. Got home left it ticking over with lights etc on and still no problem. I thought it may have been the reg/ rect as it went about 2 years ago and I used a 2nd hand one but unlikely now as the battery is receiving a charge. Any thoughts?

On the way to work this morning, I heard a grating noise from the front wheel area that got louder during the 30 miles. Had a visual check but could not find anything. Spun the front wheel over but didnt feel like bearings. On the way home the noise got even louder to I pulled over and again could not find anything wrong. I jumped back on to move to a petrol station and then realised the noise went and now the speedo does not move. I havent had time to take it apart but I assume its the cable ??? Are these a common issue on the divvy? Can it have damaged anything else? Thanks for any replies

I bought this bike used 3 years ago. It alway ran a little rough, but enjoyed riding it. I blew out my leg and couldn't ride this season I prepped it last October for winter, but haven't had it running this year. I tried to get it running, but no luck. Pulled the carbs, cleaned them til they sparkled, replaced the plugs and air filter but still won't start. Sounds like it really wants to, but no go. There is definitely gas getting into the carbs as I primed it after replacing the carb and then when it wouldn't start, released the drain in the float bowl and gas came out. I am at a loss as to what else to try. Any suggestions? Thanks! cm

I just got the bike about a week now. Already cleaned out Carburettors, tightened chain and going to change brake pads soon. I'm fairly good mechanically, maintained my mountainbike over the years and looking to get stuck into something with a bit more going on. Most problems i have figured out with the bike so far but I just can't understand why my fuel light is not working correctly(electrics...), it's always on, even with a full tank. I haven't got a manual right now but will be looking to invest, could anybody tell me how i could monitor the connecters are working correctly with a multimeter? what kind of readings should i be getting? this way i could figure out wh…

I'd appreciate a little advice with this if anyone would be so kind. The motor has cut out on me 3 times now, slight stuttering like on 2 cylinders, then cuts out, this is after a mile or so. Wont restart with the petcock in the normal position, but starts up fine if I turn it to "prime". Runs fine if I leave it on "prime". Plenty of gas in the tank. Have taken the tank off and removed the petcock on the assumption that in run position the carbs are not getting sufficient supply to maintain run. The petcock doesn't look like the one in the parts manual, but I don't think that is the problem. Slight film on the filter, that's now cleaned off. Wh…

please, I want to check the valve clearance on my 2007 ybr 125. Manual says to replace the O rings, 2x valve clearance caps, 1x crankshaft end cap and 1x timing inspection cap. Only place I can find is AJ Sutton, the 4 rings cost about 7 quid but when they add p+p (to N.I.), = 23 quid Anyone know where I can get 'em and without the astronomical p+p???
