  1. Ok my son and I are restoring a Dt50mx in time for his 16th Birthday in 3 weeks It's all done apart from sorting out one issue. The wires on the old loom was hacked to death and seeing as I have a few dt's I took one off of them. But The old loom never had a cdi block but the new one does which means I now have 6 wires wanting to go into fly wheel but I only have 4 wires coming out. Will it be possible to take off the fly wheel and take the wires out and put back the 6 wires from the donnor bike?. I have 7 dt's and we had to pick this one to restore all the others are the same they have 6 wires coming out I don't understand why this one only has 4 . So if anyone co…

    Just got a 1992 Tdm 850, It's missing between 2500 to 3000 rpm.s any idea.s folks to what might be wrong, It's runs better on reserve than it does on main tank too can't seem to work that problem out,

    I've just had a good quality chain and sprocket set fitted which wasn't cheap. The last one I had fitted in April was totally knackered, even though it was the cheapest shittest set available I could have prolonged it's life by taking better care of it. I use my bike everyday to do about 8 miles, how often should I clean and lube it? I want this set to last until March when she gets sold.

    I read something somewhere yesterday that you can tell that your chain and sprocket need replacing by the chain adjuster marks on your swing arm. Is this true? I know it will depend on the bike etc, but how often should you change them if you ride every day? They were last changed six months ago, so I think they need to be done.

    Hey guys I've read in a few places that you can use the big bore kit from the TTR125 ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/BBR-Big-Bore-150cc-Engine-Kit-Yamaha-TTR125-TTR-125-L-LE-R-Cylinder-/150690446784 ) for the XT125, not sure how true this is as the XT is four stroke and the TTR is two stroke, although it does look very similar and doesn't replace the part for the valves used in the four stroke...... thoughts?

    Hi all can anyone answer this question, diversion xj600 m reg has 4-2 exhaust down pipes, the pipes cross over, they have perrished at the collection point, ome new ones nut they dont cross over but still 4-2 pipes, will this effect the running of the engine, please post answers so can know whether to put them on or not thanks steve ride safe

    Hey guys. I'm planning on completing my A2 license after the bike law change in January, so i can't touch a bike over 47BHP. to save myself the cost of a whole new motorbike i'm considering an engine swap.. Does anybody have any ideas on which engine would be good to go for, preferably a 250-300CC, air-cooled, 4-stroke.. Any suggestions welcome, even if it's just to tell me this is a stupid idea. Thanks!

    hi i have a yamaha xt 125 r had it for a year and a half now and had issues with my speedometer 1st of all it stopped working so i checked the fuse that was fine,i checked the sensor on the wheel and that was fine so i checked battery that was fine so disconnected it for 10 mins put it back on and the speedo gave me the option to select what mod so i did then it goes off. i thought it was the speedo itself so i bought a new one and it just repeated the same thing. i have no idea what is wrong and need help please anyone

    anyone ever had brake disks skimmed? needing my project bikes brakes tidied up as there is plenty of life in them, rear not even been used, but due to sitting have became a wee bitty rusty dont want to get the grit blasted cos it'll make a rought surface finish so was looking at getting them skimmed but have heard a few horror stories like disks warping ect anyone got any advice/stories/experience ?     Hi, I have Yamaha YB 100 1982 Japan assembled. Oil pump is not working so I mix oil in the petrol. Sometimes when I am not careful, when I am running my bike on a busy road, its engine gets ceased. And it is dangerous. Is getting oil pump working again is very difficult? What should I do? I want my bike to be strong and healthy Thanks, Adil

    I have been struggling to resolve an electricla problem on our DT 50 and am now stumped. I get the bike running and check brake lights, headlight, horn, neutral light and rear light and all work great, as soon as i put the indicators on most of the time the indicators work as they should but always make all of the lights flash in time with the flasher relay and also the horn pulses in tune with it as well. Most of the time indicators alone work fine but on occasion they will not work at all which doesnt help either. I have cleaned up all the contacts i can get at with my dremel, checked the loom and replaced large ammounts of corroded wire and made a seperate ear…

    Hi all have a xj600 diversion 4br engine model, down pipes knackered, have got a set of stainless steal ones but they dot go pot one to pot 3 and pot 2 to pot4, will the new stainless be ok to fit or will they cause problems they go pot1 and pot2 on the same bank and pot3 and pot4, hope you can help

    Now that the summer (questionable) has been and gone I am about to start the renovation of my bike. Other than the appauling electrics that are held together with tape and smurf snot, my concern is for renovating the swining arm. What is the best way to refurbish the driveshaft section and gear housing? I cannot sandblast it and powder coat it. Hammerite? Nah, too tacky. Obviuosly i would like to do the best job possible for my liited skills but i dont want it ruined by a crap driveshaft. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Ive a 1982 Yamaha XJ650, 12,000 mile std condition. Noticed this week the HT leads are arcing at low rpm. The HT cables on this bike are molded into the coils. I dont want to replace the coils or splice new HT leads or replace the lead and remold into the coil. I want to put an insulated tube over the existing HT leads to fix the problem. Anyone know where I can find this type of insulated tubing? Any other ideas welcome.

    Can anyone tell me what the screw at the bottom of the end can is for, One has one fitted and is siezed, the other is missing, I guesed this was to keep the baffles in but the one without a screws nothing moves. Not sure if these come apart or not. I woudl liek to get the baffles to clean. Plus ahs anyone tried to resking the cans, mine are allwelded up but i reckon its doable, or is there a hidden danger Any advice appreciated.

    Hi guys. im having a bit of trouble with my little dt. i bought it off a friend after it was hit by a car cost me well nothing lol few car parts exchanged for it. any way i started out by removing the engine it needed a big range of parts nothing major. il list if you guys like. I put the engine back in last week wired it all back up, new oils all round. I then did the minimum to get it running no plastics, seat etc, turned the ignition on and there was no lights. When installing the engine i put a new battery in so its not that. Then noticed that my starter relay was corroded away so i replaced it yesterday.
